  1. We are going so well he should come back via Casey if he treats this period as a preseason, he can gear himself up for a big tilt at August and September action. Happy to see him vs the Swans, only if he is absolutely 100%. No free rides, even for JH.
  2. MFC knew what they were getting. Was almost the steal of the draft. Three years but doubt he is expected to play in the firsts for more than 1 1/2. Worth that to secure him. Week to week, like most players, his performance will vary. However, I am happy we got him, and watching him direct and structure on the field, hop in and distribute, and still put his body into contests, think we are getting value. compare what he brings compared to H.....
  3. Oliver copped a spray from Damian Martyn (WA hack cricketer). Ollie served it straight back! Loving the swagger....
  4. So, on review, I am so happy we found a way to win this. I think we pinched it - we actually played many elements of our game style poorly, and were bettered in many key areas throughout the night. We were outmarked, out-tackled (especially that a lot of ours didn't stick), and they seemed to stroll away from centre clearances to scoring opportunities. They were more efficient going inside 50, and outmarked us on our 'bombing' entries into or 50. There were some brilliant individual efforts amongst the slips, misses and [censored] ups. Viney is simply a beast. When we got our game and run to work, we look slick and fast. Old MacDonald did great, and Max is just so dominant, that when the team gets their groove back around his tap outs, this could get (beautifully) scary. So, lets bag the 4 points and head for the Swans. If that is when it isn't perfect and we find a way to win, then when we play 4 quarters (like we did versus the doggies), we are just going to be a thing of glory to watch. Go Dees!
  5. I think we stole it. Last week was class, this week was grunt. Outmarked, out tackled, poor handball to kick ratio. Smashed in centre clearances ( and scores from). 3 point winners, a few standouts, a lot running behind their Eagle player. Not sticking tackles. however, we won. [censored] brilliant. Does the ticker no good at all. Go Dees!
  6. Vickers kicks a goal and thinks he's ace. What a spud.
  7. Mrs Nekkid is dragging me to the Opera tonight. Shall be checking at half time and watching the last quarter on my phone, full replay when I get home. 23 point win to the Dees. We will open it up, go quiet for a patch, but steady and bring it home. Gawn to show why he was so badly missed, and Oliver to tear them a new one in the middle. Go Dees!
  8. Ah choo? gesundheit.
  9. Channel seven commentators are absolute duds. BT and Bruce were absolute disgraces. They should be pensioned off. A great game of footy spoiled by these idiots. Sounded like they were in the middle of a shared bukaki session than commenting on the game. oh, and suck a [censored], bombers.
  10. Now,the CBA is Done, expect lots of players across the league to ink new deals
  11. How was it applied? With Bugg spray? (boom tish)...(I will leave quietly...)
  12. Inside mid and Hb? He is the best performing VFL player and would be an ideal like for like. He also brings additional leadership qualities which cannot hurt a young side. As a like for like replacement for Jones, it makes a lot of sense. In fact, if he can prove he still has it at AFL level, he is a natural to replace Vince or even Lewis in the leader/quarterback role in the years to come.

  14. You think PJ has the power to stop the AFL machine? If we can win with these challenges, it proves that we are up around the mark. No excuses any more. When we play, we should win. Anywhere, any competition. That will mark the start of our next chapter, and our true entry into the premiership window.
  15. Watching Watts cover so much ground, his final position might be the wing, with Pedo and Jesse forward. Max in the middle and the Macdonald brothers flipping forwards like burgers out of the backline. This would work at the back end of this year, then Weids in to replace Pedo next year as he forces his way in. Max is a walk up start, Pedo stays in, and we replace a medium with Max. If Jones is out, we bring in another runner - Wagner or JKH would appear first in line.
  16. Goody said Jones and Watts were kept off in the last as a precaution. What a luxury to be 50 points up! Would suggest these two are in if they pull up. If Gawn is in, I have no idea who goes out. TMac goes back onto Kennedy, OMac on Captain Darling. Watts is so valuable. Really want him to come up. Great to have real pressure on selection.
  17. This. How great is it that we are in the mix? Every game feels like it is 'season defining ', and we have had our expectations raised. It has been a long time since I have been 'on edge' before Melbourne games like this season. Nothing is a given. We are a young side, our competitiveness has lifted, but we can sometimes be fragile in a comp where 5-10% drop off will kill you. It is just so even. Go Dees.
  18. What horseshit. Only game on today, it is at 3:20, and it is not free to air on 7. And it is at that dungheap Ethiad.
  19. Who is the carry-over emergency for tomorrow?
  20. Spencil didn't knock the door down with his performance at Casey. We play a team without a big ruck option, that often even pinch hit in ruck contests with midfielders We won with the current setup last week The urgency to select Jake was low. Against the Swans I expect Max or Spencil to be in. In that order of preference.
  21. No change unless injury, or Max Factor is ready to rumble. Who goes out for Max?? I think it would be matchups based if no one injured. Wags was closest to knocking on the door for a spot, Spencil didn't really. Stretch was OK, but would need to do more. So no driving changes from VFL level.
  22. In the first half, I was quite frustrated that they seemed to be guarding grass and watching (with tackles not sticking) and us being completely smashed in the contested marks. I knew we were up and about in the third quarter when the guys sprinted to cover a fat-side spread. All three of the collingwood players had Dees right with them, making a series of contests rather than a simple transition. When we play like that, we are a different side. We make contests and often win or halve them. It allows us to set up our defensive structures at a minimum.
