  1. We beat this bunch of front runners with perhaps the worst half of football, then being good in the third, and OK in the last. We are yet to put a full game of our new game plan together. Essendon are essentially making up the numbers, and we have to be better than this if we plan to beat good teams. We are the sort of team that used to run others into form. We face Hawks next week, who were pretty good two weeks ago, and poor last week. Need to play more than 2 1/2 quarters of football. Lots of good signs, even with the list issues we have at the moment. Plastic beer cup half full, rather than half empty.
  2. Loved: Daniher's goal kicking. Viney's third quarter Oliver- my god , what a beast. His ability to get the ball and get it to advantage is unbelievable. Trac, Watts, Garlett. Forward line. In the last, every time we took a bummer to ground, they hurt getting up. That is awesome. winning. Hated: second quarter. It was horrendous. the simple errors that cost us goals. that we will go in next week as favourites. turnover tommy and turnover Tyson. Kicking pie floaters.
  3. It is the CLUB that is systematic as drug cheats. Individuals have paid their Dues. They will be forever tarnished.
  4. Forward line of: Garlett. Weideman. Petracca Kent. Hogan. Watts On potential, that is something special. However, there are reasons right now why each and every one of those positions is not delivering: Hogan - family circumstances Weideman - still developing, probably 12 months early to expect too much Watts - being played out of position in the ruck Kent - is this attitude? Reports from the VFL not so promising Petracca - hasn't 'broken out' yet, but I think could even play full forward for us today Garlett is probably the only one who is up to scratch at the moment. We can sub any of these players worth others (eg, Hannan), for similar results. We have the makings of excellence on all lines, they are young (often the youngest team of the round), and haven't played to their group potential. If we could snare a 200+forward ruck that didn't have a [censored] tickler moustache and could deliver of course we would. But not too many of them are lying around for under a million bucks a season. I think the Weed will really arrive - but expect it will be in 2018.
  5. On the way we are playing, we are one of those teams that might 'sneak' in. Until we find the groove with the game plan and get a few fit bodies back, I think that is our reality. I think Richmond will be this years North - they are a pretty crap 5-0 team, and I think they will be totally pantsed by the Crows. We can write off North, Swans and (maybe) Hawthorn, although Hawthorn are the more likely of this bunch to get their Mojo back. I think there will be lots of upsets all year. I so want us to win today - because it is the bummers, because of how it sets up our next 6 weeks, and how it sets up our season.
  6. Great the club looks after him. Hope he recovers soon, and can put together some strong games and push into the firsts late this season or early next.
  7. Here's how: Back 6 work like a machine and stop Oreocookie Orgasmia and his band getting and over the back goals. DOnt let Daniher think he is JC, hit him hard, many times. RUn Bellchambers off his legs around the ground. Great speed and angles of half back. Quality entry to targets in 50. Lots of goals. No injuries. I think the Bombers are a confidence team, and will give it up if we smash them at the contest and just work harder for longer. Turning dominance into scoreboard pressure will be a big help. Oh, and no giving up stupid junk time goals. Thats how we win.
  8. Winners special. $1.00 of a Halal snack pack.
  9. Just saw Lyndon Dunn will make his debut for the filth.
  10. How we win: outrun them. They may take us lightly given our outs, but they have had 20% less recovery time, and hopefully pressure acts all day and four quarters of running might just split it open. Our entries into 50 just have to improve. They have been a disaster.
  11. If JKH was to be replaced, it would be Bugg, followed by Kennedy. Both were reported to have had good games for Casey, and could fill the forward role and rotate into the midfield. It will be interesting to see how they mark JKH on that game as part of the new structure and 'fearless football' (where clangers seem less important) ethos. I cant see ANB going out, even if the OOF before half time was the stupidest thing sine 'tunnel ball '.
  12. Currently 2-3. If we can split the difference and turn at 5-6 we will still be mid-table, and making our own chances. We are not a top 4 side, otherwise we would 5-0 or 4-1. We are a developing side and will start to put this promising stuff together at some point. ATM we are learning the system. WHen we play it for 4 quarters, it will be a thing of beauty. But not yet... so 3-3 from the next 6 would be my call. Better than that - given our injuries and our learning curve - will be a bonus.
  13. Apparently, just a kid getting started. And a rookie to boot. The report suggested he really is a skinny kid with a long way to go. Suggest there is zero chance of him seeing seniors footy this year, and maybe even next. He hasn't played VFL for Casey 1sts yet. I know we are desperate, but he wouldn't even be on the landscape, let alone in the frame.
  14. Hogan needs to start leading, not trying to outbody one defender whilst a chop out defender floats across in front. Lead towards the footy! Stop sooking! Look at how Riewoldt gets back into the contest! This is a big change for next week. also, bombing the ball into 50 is stupid, and played directly into Tigers gameplan. We can win 50 contests, get 30 inside 50s and 10 goals kicked against us unless we fix this. We are simply not getting bang for our buck. Thats the other change.
  15. Immediate outs: Smith and Spencer Under injury cloud: Petracca, Viney Immediate in: Jordan Lewis, Bugg (performance at VFL Level) Other immediate options: Pederson, Weids, O-Mac, Kennedy, Trengove, Kent Risky selections: King. White, Kielty (need more time) So, the selection panel will need to consider a few things: 1) what the hell do we do in the ruck? 2) what should our best forward structure look like? 3) How do we add skill and talent to the helter skelter the team offers 4) who needs a rest? Lets see how the team pulls up, but I can see 4-5 changes this week. Essensystematicdrugcheats should be gettable, even with the injury list we currently carry
  16. Agree. Think we are building something. Gotta keep at it. We are not losing by 10 goals, only a handful of points. I remember other teams that 'clicked'...hope that is in our near term future.
  17. As I said to a mate, good signs for the long term, but gee it gives me the sheets. the 2 rotations cost us - dead men walking. Martin is a protected species. Welcome Hibbard. bombing it into the 50 cost us and brought us undone. Damn. But we are on the up, for sure.
  18. I would love to hear BT choking on his tongue. I would love to hear Hamish McMuppet admit he wishes he was his brother. I dont want to hear Bruce go "Dusty, Dusty,Dusty, Duuuuuussstttyyy!" And have a self inflicted bukake moment like he does with Cyril. I wanna hear the skies open up and it pelt down after we get 10 goals in front.
  19. Our entry into 50 is so important. We get this right, we shoot for goal. We screw it up, Richmond will play long and fast to their small forwards, making it difficult to set/maintain defensive structures. I see this as critical for our outcome, and where Hogan and Smith will add significantly. Looking for the second link in the chain to cut out and contest (often leaving the first short pass to be uncontested) could be difficult if their long passing gameplanbypasses this. Hard 2 way running is going to be a premium skill tonight. Looking for us to win the clearances, tidy up inside 50 delivery. Reckon they will get a few goals that catch us out of position and make us look ameteur, see us pulling away in the 3rd and holding them off in the 4th.
  20. A helmet would do little to prevent a dog act behind play. The perpetrator should pay a hefty price.
  21. He was one of the best young footballers of his draft year. He has shown plenty of promise, but has had a few 'bumps' on his road. Many young players suffer injuries, but make it, I wish Gus all the best - to get over this, apparently small, setback; and for being able to deliver his best football to help the Dees create something special. He was sent back to Casey for a reason, so I hope he can get back and leave no doubt he should be in the firsts.
