  1. and let's just hope 2014 isn't a "misery".
  2. surely his nickname has to be 'stephen'. 'king to salem' has a nice ring to it...
  3. With delisted free agents able to go wherever, psd is a waste of time.
  4. 11.1 in the 100m. That's quick.
  5. his highlights shows some scintillating pace and some aerial strength in the air. trust in roos / taylor.
  6. We got an upgrade from 74 to 57 I thought.
  7. This kid sounds like he will be super determined to be an afl player. Could be a fantastic pick up.
  8. one of jason taylor / paul roos smokey gems?
  9. this kid is meant to be lightening quick, yes?
  10. I see it as risky for Footscray too. Jarred Grant mk 2? Was really hoping Scharenberg slipped to us. Aish to bears, two years of sun, then back home? Freeman or Salem I guess.
  11. Love the look of KK. Scharenberg to Pies...
  12. Bontempelli it is. I'm guessing Aish to Pies, Sharenberg to Lions, we will still have the choice of Salem or Freeman.
  13. Billings at 3 as expected, so now it's a matter of who Footscray, Filth and the Bears pick I guess, on the presumption GC17 go for the Tasmanian kid.
  14. Sheed is an inside mid tho, of which we have completely rebuilt over summer. Salem, who AFL.com.au draft expert Cal Twomey reckons we will select, or Freeman both add some outside skills to the likes of Vince, Blease and Toumpas, with Barry also that sort if he can develop as you would hope he will. We desperately need run and carry mids. Salem is that, with an Yze-like left boot.
  15. I stand by my call that the sanfl has slipped a long way as a competition and a breeding ground for young talent.
  16. I wouldn't even say Strauss has an elite kick. He regularly misses targets whenever under a scintilla of pressure. Good at training tho.
  17. i still think $cully should be a very good player. he has the speed and tenacity. it was interesting to read about how he was utilised at u/18 football compared to afl football - it would seem he was much more of a pure outsider, allowed to run and carry and use his speed from half-back. in the afl he's been much more of an inside mid at melbourne and gws, and tried as a tagger at the latter as well to help build his defensive game. he worked wonders for us - if we had him, i don't think we'd have clark, dawes, hogan, or barry.
  18. I don't think Cuthbertson took another mark after he changed to (I think) #9.
  19. happy to see fitz stick with 48.
  20. Doubt it. No games in Adelaide on Adelaide Oval until round 2, pretty sure they only use the ground sporadically at best - they have their own grounds in the suburbs. I imagine the WAFL and NEAFL is the same.
  21. didn't whateley start his career as a race caller, like bruce mcaveney did in south australia? i haven't heard him call any races, but he seems to love his nags - as davis points out, he wrote a book about black caviar after all.
  22. If it doesn't happen this time the club, it could be the death of the club. Hope not!
  23. There's always 'bolters' and 'sliders' at this time of year. At the moment it looks like KK, Bontempelli, Freeman and Lennon might be in the former category, and the two SA prospects, Aish and Scharenberg, might be in the latter. It would surprise me enormously if either were available at pick 9 - for the last year they've been touted as 2 and 3 behind Boyd. I guess we'll know for certain in under a month.
