WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON

exactly, it's all about needs. we desperately need an extractor. those at the pointy end of the 2013 draft aren't that. dom tyson is. -
he hasn't moved to melbourne yet. give it time. i like that we are going about our business quietly. what other coach's are wandering down media street at the moment? it's all about recruiting managers and footy dept heads at the moment; josh mahoney is going great guns.

Look, if he plays like he did at junior days in the afl he is EXACTLY what we need - strong in close with good disposal. Aish and Kelly - the players we were likely to target with #2 - are more outside runners. If we are able to secure, with 9, Billings we get that outside ability with ability to develop an inside game, if it's Crouch we get another ball-hunter. Billings' last two years playing in the state champs have been so exciting. I can't see him sliding to 9, but you never know... He reminds me of Robbie Gray from Port; a natural footballer who can read the play intuitively, play forward and also push through the midfield and win clearances. -
Adams in the psd with pick #2 please! Imagine if that happened... Oh the hilarity.
-
Billings, I hope! Saving that, Crouch...so that we can lure his bro back from the Crows in two years Think of it as the reverse Scotty T

jetta is currently uncontracted, so that would make sense. -
emma q has some interesting thoughts on the adams-shaw deal. personally i disagree that it's a fair direct swap. adams has far greater upside than shaw. but the real point of interest is this: boyd certainty to go no. 1 kelly and billings a shot for 2 kolodjashnij firming for top 5 and as we know mcdonald is already confirmed for #8. she's got aish, scharenberg and freeman possibly sliding to #6 if the mooted 6 for 11 and 27 deal happens, with west coast keen on sheed at #6 but they think he'll slide to #11 if that deal happens.

As opposed to Barrett's North, who presumably see dal Santo as the difference btw being outside the top 8 and inside the top 4. -
Is Barrett eulogising north and their trading as well? Gee, what a surprise.

Didn't he win the b and in 2009? -
get him next year.

grundy went at 19. i think we're going to get something of some degree of quality here. i'm very pleased by the trade, especially if we get 21 and don't trade it for bernie.

love the look of his highlights, and the fantasy freako write-up sounds like exactly the sort of player we are after. i remember watching a couple of those games and he was instrumental as a first-possession midfielder. yes, pick 2 was a lot to give up, but necessary in our circumstances. looking forward to seeing his work in the square alongside nate jones, viney, michie, trengove, matt jones, mckenzie, no. 9 pick if we go for an inside type, and perhaps vince if he lands with us. -
Get Crouch, lure his bro home in two years, boom! (Or Billings)

I'm pretty okay with that deal. Would've preferred to keep 20, but with 9 we are hopefully into a higher echelon of midfielder. Fingers crossed we get 21 for Sylvia, but I think it's unlikely. Tyson's first year was outstanding. He'll help out with sheer workload; he's a no 3 draft pick after all, so he's highly rated. Trust in Roos! -

Hence why it should be for the compo pick at best. -
There's mutterings at hq about doing away with compo for teams that lose free agents. I hate free agency.

That was 4 seasons ago. Now he's a contributor, and a relatively inconsistent one at that...his best is better than Sylvia, but it'd be a fairly like for like replacement. -
No way Port would give up Hammer. He's a jet. And I can't see Broady leaving either - he's an SA boy from a big Power-supporting family, and is a pretty important player for them too.

I have no issues with Vince if it is the Sylvia compo pick. -
Tomas Bugg & Matt Buntine
whatwhat say what replied to Weekends at Bernie's's topic in Melbourne Demons
what would buntine add to our side? to me he looks like the carbon copy of morton - not a midfielder, not a kpp, but somewhere in-between, who was able to do really well at underage level but might not have the application nor smarts to make it at afl level. -

Massive overs for Vince in my opinion. Bugg and Buntine plus 9 is interesting. Would like to know what port are offering for 2 and 20.
