GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY

Velvet Sledgehammer says that we should let him go, which means in my mind that we should definitely 100% keep him. Lloyd is one of the worst 'journalists' out there. -
The 2014 AFL National Draft

Given that gws don't need another project tall kpf, any chance he could push up to selection 1? -
Casey Scorpions v Collingwood

Why is Toumpas continuing to flounder? He was a far better player at sanfl level three years ago than he's showing at vfl level with afl development happening. Very disappointed. -
The 2014 AFL National Draft

Petracca seems to be storming into contention. If Saints finish stone motherless I really hope they pick Goddard, twelve years since they picked the previous one. -
i suppose a lot of it comes down to contracts, and whether they have one for 2015 or not.

very strange messaging. we want to be big, but we want to do away with existing relationships, but we want to grow as a club, but we want to be based in collins street. nice rhetoric, but most of it blue-sky dreaming and completely unrealistic. i'd rather we be san antonio spurs - community-focused, successful and consistent.

the way i read the bit about his mum was that they hadn't spoken for 3.5 years when she phoned up and became rent-a-quote story-maker. very sad situation from the reading of it.

be curious to see whether blease is next cab off the rank in a couple of weeks. i thought toumpas was okay in his cameo in the alice, some awful lack of defensive efforts notwithstanding. it's very disheartening that he's not showing anything like what i expected from him. and the lack of anything at all from tapscott is very disappointing. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

awesome, i hope he does live up to the billing, and is worth around a pick 10, and then we get him for our second round pick. bring that on. -

So which is it? GNF says staying in Melbourne, Ferret-face says going home to Perth. -
GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY

People are dreaming if they think the Hawks are on the slide and we are more advanced than them for future success. If Chip wants to remain in Victoria but leave us, they and Geelong are his best bets - they have sustained history as proven finals performers in recent times, thanks to astute recruiting and development - both free agents and mature players (Rivers, Lake, Burgoyne, Gibson) as well as young talent (Horlin-Smith, Hill, Duncan, et al). North Melbourne and Collingwood may be an outside chance of luring him - but I'd put both behind Cats and Hawks in terms of future finals aspirations. The interstate option probably boils down to Freo or Sydney - again, proven developers of talent young and old, and both will need defensive reinforcement, with the implication that the Swans will have a salary cap issue a fallacy - they'll have a heap of players retiring over the next 2 - 3 years, and the new CBA from 2017 will see the salary cap potentially double. Which is why their Buddy deal was probably a smart bit of business. Gold Coast would be an option if he wants (potential) future finals success. Alternatively he could stick with us and be the leader that we expect him to be / he claims to be. I still think it's Hawks, us, Cats and then Freo as the options, GC17 is the wildcard however. -

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

love the idea george. a year in casey, teaching the kids and helping them and then, boom! back to being a dee in 2015. -
his skills and his ball nous are what make him so exciting, alongside strong defensive work and heaps of energy and ability to be involved in the play.
-
i hope we see many more years of salem and toumpas running in tandem along the wing, like we did against port in the alice - that ground is essentially the dimensions of the mcg.
-
has had a very positive start to his career. wish he could kick.

he needs to play a succession of games. i still hold out hope that he can make it best 22. i've given up on blease, strauss. -
sylvia or vince....no contest.
-
god i hope he makes it back
-
Very happy to keep him. Wouldn't be surprised if sides like gws, Carlton or the Saints - all of whom need key defenders - didn't offer him deals too. A cheaper option than Chip, but I'd argue is currently having a better year.

I think yr being a bit generous - I would say he's on the edge of being a solid, regular B grader. Long way to go before he's an A grader.
