completely agree re toumpas. adelaide were hot on him last time. i'd happily get shot of him for their first rounder while we can. -

Yep, and pretty soon the compensation for losing a player will be discontinued. The ONLY way free agency can work is if players can be traded without their say-so. -
The Run Home - Race for the spoon

At the start of the season I believed wins were irrelevant - all I wanted to see was a % around the 80 mark. I still think that's the definition of success vs failure his year. For the most part we have - thus far - been fortunate for the most part with injury. -

say we don't win another game for the year - and then the question becomes... do we petition the afl for extra draft pick at the pointy end, which got knocked back this year? -

And the poll tips into the 'no' result... -
Disappointing, another opportunity missed.

Viney is doing an outstanding job on Libba.

The thought of being bottom two has me seriously demotivated, Deemotivated! Win today and I can't see it happening tho.

Really curious to see how Dom Barry is used in his debut game. Has been a tagger at vfl for last several weeks. Who will he match up on for Footscray? Liberatore is almost impossible to negate as he's that inside player - I'd like to see Nate Jones go head-to-head with him, though I suspect Picken may be given the job there. Dom Barry a chance to run with Macrae, perhaps, as a player who's around the same age as him?

Every time I see this thread bumped I expect the vote count to be at 50-50. 4 votes apart now... -
Players to target at the end of the year

our third rounder will be fairly close to their second rounder, and our second rounder close to their first. if we luck out and have to use a third round on stretch, then our pick in the late teens / early 20s might get us morabito. massive risk, but he has the ability. -

correct link here: http://t.co/bVBgztu1ik 9 tackles to jkh! 93 is a huge amount for a team that was belted like that - is that laid or attempted number?? very encouraging to see jkh, tapscott and blease top the possession count, 10 rebound fifties to tapscott is great to see. jkh second for marks behind georgiou. toumpas, well, at risk of fearing the wrath of his defenders - poor possession count, small number of entries / exits from 50s, good tackle count. what's happened to panozza? he used to be a really good vfl level player. -

Looking forward to seeing the stats - wish they were more detailed. -

hard not to compare him to the two midfielders selected immediately after him, if you consider stringer a half-forward rather than a pure mid. we were told that we were getting an afl-ready player who'd done well at senior sanfl level for the last couple of years as a 16 and 17 year old. he looks a world off it. one thing he has clearly improved this year is his ability to lay a tackle. however, he is not quick (something that we were told he was) nor is he skilled (something else that we were told he was). i do wonder whether he can be turned into an inside midfielder, as i struggle to see him making it afl level as an outside runner - he doesn't have the pace nor the skills to play the role. -

I thought Wigg was impressive again for SA. Moves smoothly, looks to have a bit of strength in his frame, and a lovely left foot kick. And I agree, I think it's going to be a second round pick for SOS. Looks classy. -

Yes, it's so very disappointing. We desperately need our high draft picks to perform, and they really can't seem to get it happening. We need them, and they have let us, the fans - and unfortunately themselves, too - down. I'm really hopeful that Toumpas can turn it around but both Blease and Strauss look shot, at this stage. -

The Casey seniors or the MFC? What a disappointment he has been. -

She's in love with Pickett, but I'm just not seeing anything. He doesn't look THAT quick or THAT skilful. -

I thought SOS was okay. I really like the look of Wigg for SA. Lovely left foot.
