  1. seeing as we were all set to pick billings, while kelly would now be at the aints...i'll say no
  2. north melbourne
  3. the champion data dudes think we completely misuse him - they reckon he should basically be an 80% forward 50 player, as historically that's where he's shown to be the most damaging
  4. it's funny, but if you look at our history of 'down years' over the last twenty years, we always seem to be at the bottom when the draft class is nowhere near as strong as our middling / good years they're raving about this year's draft class, and of course we've traded out of it 1997: arguably got this one right with pick 1 and pick 2 - trapper and jeff white (traded) 1999: banned from first round, our pick 4 gifted to freo cos they were wayne jackson's baby, same as gc17 and gw$ are gil's 2001: stuffed it up, picking molan 2003: chook mclean and 'one big pre-season away from superstardom' sylvia 2007: cale morton and jack grimes, sigh 2008: jack watts, double sigh 2009: $cully [later converted into hogan] and trengove 2010: pick 5 became pick 12 as we were shunted down the draft order via the introduction of gc17, stuffed it up by picking cook anyway 2011: same as above, except this time it was gw$, and we traded it for mitch clark 2012: pick 3 traded to ensure gw$ didn't nominate viney, wasted pick 4 on the toump 2013: 2 and 20 converted into tyson and 9 2014: 2 and 3 used on trac and gus 2015: oliver and weed 2016: used on above trade 2017 and 2018: used as leverage for lever at the time i thought it was a good deal, but clearly the pick 2 and 20 for tyson and pick 9 was a complete mistake given just how good kelly has become

Methinks those players being ‘moved on’ may be behind his decision
  6. fwiw, jason taylor loved lewis taylor in his draft year - i believe that if salem had gone by pick 9, we were all set to take the diminutive lewis i...am not a fan
  7. i don't think he's been the same since he hurt his knee against footscray he looks to lack the mobility of earlier in the year, trac looks like he's got op, and t mac couldn't run at all against the aints

he sure is i've got us winning two more for the year too, and finishing 10th pleasingly, i've got the pies sliding out of the 8 too

    that's shattering
  10. two more wins for the year - vs freo and gc17 - and finishing 11th
  11. updates from the weekend - de goey signs a short-term two-year deal with pies, whose salary cap is bursting - murphy re-signs with carlton, so he won't be coming to us
  12. OUT: Tyson, Hannan, ANB IN: Stretch, Spargo, Baker Would love to see Lewis given a rest but the only option to bring in for him is Vince, and there’s no point swapping one superannuation applicant for another...

Why would he come to us when North - a consistent finals team - are also in the chase?
  14. 6 Gawn 5 Harmes 4 Fritsch 3 Viney 2 Oliver 1 Hibberd
  15. Just can’t see us winning We look absolutely spent Saints up by 50+ on uncontested possessions 42 point win to the Aints coming up
  16. Sitting on the wing, early observations: - Ill-disciplined, given away 50m penalties for certain goals time and time again - Forward line dysfunctional when the ball coming in - Forward line not providing any defensive effort - Midfield too slow in transition - Backline under siege and under sized - Big ground exposes our lack of leg speed
  17. We don’t work nearly hard enough in transition Their speed by foot is going to be a major concern if we don’t lock down defensively

2021, just using our current list, plus gaff? B: Jetta - O Mac - Petty HB: Hunt - Lever - Hibberd ? Gaff - Brayshaw - Salem HF: Petracca - Hogan - Fritsch F: Weideman - T Mac - Melksham Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Harmes - Spargo - Tyson - ANB Emerg: Stretch - Hannan - Ginger Ninja - Filipovic of course that's completely unlikely given players will inevitably come and go, and form will wax and wane, not to mention debilitating injury etc and who knows how sides will change their structure once the anti-density netball rules come in

I’d like to keep Tyson and get Gaff in, personally I still think Tyson can be vital to our future side make up (Vince, Lewis and Jones could all be gone by the end of 2020, although Jones may play on), and Gaff would be a fantastic addition It just adds more depth to the side 2021 could see, possibly, four of our best 25 currently players gone; those three listed above plus Jetta, who’ll be 31 by the time 2021 rolls around - more if someone like a Hogan declares he wants to go back to WA, or ANB to SA, or even if a Brayshaw gets an offer they can’t refuse at the end of this year - who knows, North may throw their war chest at him now Ideally I’d like to build and grow our side, and the best thing about Gaff joining the side is he costs us nothing other than salary cap space
  20. If we can’t get Gaff, then I completely agree he should be the secondary target

you need to settle, saty i like gaff, personally would definitely have him at the dees
  22. 21 disposals (13 kicks, 8 handballs), 8 marks, 4 tackles he won't be dropped
  23. great win casey from what i saw (second half only) ginger ninja and bernie vince looked seriously good at this level, as did tim smith
  24. maggots gonna maggot [vfl edition]
  25. vince is miles too good for this level
