  1. has sam day has been going ok in the neafl? cheaper option than trading for patton and his heavy contract and buggered knees
  2. for all the disposals they got, i really didn't think oliver, brayshaw, salem, or harmes were that useful with them...yet they were almost certainly all in our top eight or so players on the ground 6: gawn 5: harmes 4: petracca 3: fritsch 2: may 1: lever
  3. i thought jones was very good on the couch to be honest at the mcg? not so much
  4. an enormous game
  5. it would seem absurd if we pick up keath he's having an enormous year, but why oh why would we get ANOTHER tall key defender
  6. my thing with today is that you can't fault the effort; the execution was absolutely appalling however it wasn't for want of trying by the playing group, but our game plan (chaos footy) is clearly not working and our structure losing smith going into the game and then frost five minutes into the game cruelled us of opportunity to execute whatever the plan - whatever it may be other than 'get it, waste it' - may be ultimately, it was the second best team in the competition playing the third worst, and we got taught a lesson in skill and ability my three biggest bugbears: lack of skill by hand and foot lack of defensive running from midfield lack of ability to lower eyes entering i50 it was just all panic, panic, panic very disheartening
  7. ABC radio saying Frost gone with concussion
  8. We wouldnโ€™t beat Carlton or GC17 the way we are playing No one can hit a target, midfielders donโ€™t work defensively, we are slow on transition and look completely devoid of any skill whatsoever Its last yearโ€™s QB all over again
  9. I miss the 2:10pm start times
  10. No nerves today cos I have zero expectations; they are the second best side in the competition and we are the third worst Just hoping we look better and play to 2018 level... ...just canโ€™t see it happening for us today
  11. when spargo is playing well he's involved in score chains - they're backing his ability and competitive drive to get him back to being the player he was last year anb and stretch had opportunities and failed; now it's spargo's turn to get a go to prove he belongs at afl level at the moment if lockhart hadn't been ANOTHER of our 'wait...he's injured?!??' players then i doubt spargo would have the opportunity that he now does re kolodjashnij, i thought his dinky little kicks and his ability to execute the switch were really poor - regularly missed targets or seemed to nail the oppo on the chest he went hard when it was his turn tho, and best of all he was INVOLVED in the play one thing i don't understand is whether or not they see him in the back flank sweeper role in the afl or more of a wing role? he definitely looks more comfortable behind the ball at vfl than he did on the wing at afl (no surprise there) if he does show the sort of form that warrants afl selection then presumably that will free salem up to play a more attacking role, which will help the side's disposal going i50 too
  12. dunkley was injured the majority of his u/18 year, last year, wasn't he? he looks a smooth mover in traffic, knows his way around goal, and loves a tackle - basically, very similar to his brother
  13. hope we're one of the vic clubs targeting papley would like a nibble at florent too
  14. meth coke cannot win at the scg; swans all over em
  15. well that was very encouraging goes to show how much better you look when you have 13 afl-listed players performing at vfl level as opposed to our usual 6-10 for the majority of the year thus far
  16. lockhart and lefau both have serious pace
  17. preuss is absolutely cooked; hands on knees and blowing hard after every effort
  18. preuss and jkh far too lazy
  19. am i wrong or is the team playing a slightly different, more possession-based gameplan as opposed to the regular chaos footy that we've seen at both afl and vfl level?
  20. interesting the austin bradtke is playing - he is soooo tall and skinny preuss, anb, c wagner, and lewis looking good
  21. i'm a big fan of the weed, so very happy with this confirmation of commitment he hasn't even played 30 games and he's already dominated a final and then played very well against two of the best performed sides of the last dozen years will be a serious player
  22. Thatโ€™s a lot of dosh for a flanker who has yet to show that much
  23. they talked about this on the real footy podcast a couple of months ago his body is clearly not made for afl
  24. He was, but he also had good form in the vfl leading up to his debut He had actually earned it
