  1. 6: Plugger Mac 5: Oliver 4: Jetta 3: Smith 2: Fritsch 1: Lewis Lewis gets a vote cos unlike others he kept buttering up for secondary contests We had a lot of top liners down (Hogan, Gawn, Salem) and a lot of b-graders plodding it up (Trac, Gus, Harmes, Spargo) Ugly loss
  2. They’re killing us on the outside and with their quick hands Our mid level players are nowhere to be seen at this stage and we lack the penetration i50 that we’ve had for the last six weeks We will need a massive second half to turn it around
  3. It’s not so much the free kicks that are paid for them as it is those that are not paid to us Jones ragdolled without it, Pies players throwing it for fun, Gawn pushed in the back...no whistle As I feared they are way too quick for us at this stage
  4. yep, don't disagree with that but in a post vince, post lewis world, i still see jones as a midfield rather than back flank rotation i don't want brayshaw going anywhere near the half-back flank either, so really it's harmes as the other option currently on our list who knows, we may have someone emerge in the second half of the year as a defensive option...dion johnstone, your time is now next year we'll have lewis, and i see no reason not to have vince either given the form he's in and we can sign him on a one-year deal but i really hope hunt does work out a way to become something more
  5. Media are talking us up so that they can tear us down when we fall over Jennings and McCarthy have both had glowing media portraits thus far this year, with media pundits speculating - with zero quotes, anonymous or otherwise - that they could be the perfect fit for several clubs Hope neither want to go
  6. We play a back 7 Jetta - O Mac Hunt - Lever - Petty - Hibberd - Salem With Joel Smith in reserve
  7. Keep going you Jokers
  8. how on earth did frost manage to not kick that? dees have dominated everywhere but the scoreboard; pies accuracy all that has kept them in it
  9. balic is melksham mk 2?
  10. petty has controlled that back half and when weed is clunking those sorts of marks you can't help but watch the kid and think 'add 10km of muscle please' - he has agility and the basic traits of a key forward, but he's undersized and only 20 years old...will be a player
  11. that is a ridiculous over-statement he's 20 ffs

  13. maggots gonna maggot! should've been a free for over the shoulder to petty, but instead pies get a goal from another terrible free
  14. jkh has real guts, throws himself into the contest
  15. he's a 20 year old 200cm ruckman give him five years and we'll have more of a clue
  16. bugg shows him how it's done* *mitch king, do NOT take goalkicking lessons from tom bugg! why on earth bring that free back - atrocious umpiring
  17. how on earth did he miss that
  18. oh good grief, what's the free kick count?!??
  19. Maguire Media production; if it ain’t the filth, the scum, or the Peptides, there’s no interest
  20. Maggots are loving the Pies at the moment, plucking frees from everywhere
  21. Changed numbers has to do with ‘retro round’ apparently It just makes it all the more confusing Tyson has been fantastic around the contest, like Weed’s leading patterns, and Hunt has been solid down back thus far
  22. the one thing i do agree is that the magpies are primed for success now they average out as bang on 25 years old, but part of the reason for that is cos they do skew old and young - their middle tier of 24-27 year olds with some degree of experience is basically hoskin-elliot, treloar and adams, al of whom they poached from gw$, and crisp, who they got from the bears sidebottom, grundy and josh smith are their only players in that bracket that were home grown - wells, pendles, dunn, etc won't be around forever, and they're absolutely key players for them - they have six players with more than 150 games under their belt playing on monday greenwood and mayne are further 'imports' in their side
  23. this is his third year with them still only 27
  24. yes, the 'can't trade your first rounder in consecutive years is very rubbery as we picked oliver and weideman three years back and haven't had a first rounder since then, it would seem that we can't trade it but geelong seemed to have no dramas doing the equivalent last year as per usual, the afl makes it up as it goes along
  25. Goodwin and Jennings watching on in the crowd
