Ross Lyon 2021
i don't see how it's feasible to ditch goodwin at the end of 2020 regardless of our results we can't afford to pay out / negotiate a way out of two years of his contract, as he's signed til the end of 2022 i certainly wouldn't be looking at ross lyon as an option

Injury List 2020
interesting to read that bennell is training with the 'second' mid group, of which jones is a part from the looks of the happy snaps, first mid group is gawn, oliver, viney, brayshaw, petracca, and tomlinson presumably one other as i think they're training in groups of seven?

Positive Trade Out (Non Regrettable)
it's funny when you look at how it played out for the three major players in two trades over the course of three years brock mclean - 63 games with the blues gysberts - 19 games with the dees gysberts - 0 games with the kangas pedersen - 64 games with the dees

Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
really? my word, from someone very close to the family, was that thompson was always going home to adelaide at the end of that year - his preference was the pear, but they couldn't get the deal done he was a fab player - i was ropeable when he left and watching him play 300+ games across the course of his career with the cows vexed me no end
-
Jack Steven Incident
it's pretty awful hopefully he recovers okay, but it's hard to imagine football is his priority if his first action post-lockdown is to go out and get into a barney that results in him being stabbed

Jon Anderson's Best 22 Since 1970
i only started following footy in the mid-80s, but mine would be: B: Neville Jetta - Sean Wight - Alan Johnson HB: Brett Lovett - David Neitz - Steve Febey ? Robbie Flower - Clayton Oliver - Stephen Tingay HF: Garry Lyon - David Schwarz - Aaron Davey F: Brian Wilson - Allen Jakovich - Jeff Farmer Foll: Jimmy Stynes - Todd Viney - James McDonald I/c: Nathan Jones - Max Gawn - Adem Yze - Greg Healy very tempted to include anthony ingerson or - preferably - paul prymke in there as additional tall cover down back, but i figure dollars can always push defensively to help shore up the backline if required also a massive fan of glenn lovett - some of the best hands of any demon i've seen others under consideration: jack viney, graeme yeats, rod grinter, travis johnstone, andy lovell, brad green, shane woewodin, bernie vince, russell robertson, cam bruce, jeff white, matthew whelan goes to show how few "stars" we've had since the 'modern' afl era when you look at that side - and those that we have had have regularly been broken by injury

Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
mclean, sylvia, moloney, watts...seems it was culturally endemic throughout the club during the mid-00s

Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
He was exactly the sort of player we needed to get out of our club - as he himself says, he was partying too hard I think he read the play beautifully and got himself a nice extended and expensive contract at the Blues when his form over the previous few years probably didn’t justify it - he definitely wasn’t the player he promised to be; more Marc Macgowan than Rob Harvey - the article talks about his ‘leg speed’ and I genuinely lol’d cos Chook was as slow as treacle I wonder how much gear he was raging on the night he poured a bucket of pish all over us on the couch... Ironic that he did so while at Carltank, the only club with an assistant coach who happily admitted they were tanking

Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
No wonder he was finished as a footballer by 28. Brock McLean’s double life battling alcohol and drug issues and an eating disorder — and the remarkable road back
