  1. tyson pinged two or three times for holding the ball now? for all of salem's skills he is super lax defensively.
  2. i remain convinced that harmes' lob to the goal square was a set play with hogan...he dropped the sitter chest mark is all.
  3. our inability to win a clearance and our ability to hand the ball to them in scoring positions is very, very hard to watch.
  4. our inability to win a clearance and our ability to hand the ball to them in scoring positions is very, very hard to watch.
  5. we're as ill-discplined in this game as port were against us. they are killing us at stoppages.
  6. watts all of a sudden clunking contested marks, earning 50s, and converting. exciting to see.
  7. i completely disagree. their midfield is super deep and mumford remains one of the top three ruckmen that maximus gawnius wants to surpass alongside goldzilla and our old mate stef.
  8. it's interesting to see that the tactic against gawn seems to be to jump into him early and reduce his ability to hit the ball at the top of his jump. kennedy sneaks our first in.
  9. saints doing all the attacking early - they're much more focussed on heavy body contact and physicality. awful kick in by salem. terrible lack of contest in the air with the ball coming in deep twice, second time resulting in a goal. o mac had no strength whatsoever.
  10. Port only want t as an away game. In theory whoever plays against us in the NT should not get a home game against us - pretty sure that's the theory of how it worked, same as when we sold game to Brisbane it meant we only ever played them once a year. Like that little adventure, I can only think of one highlight up north - Neitz going on a rampage vs Brisbane at the peak of their powers, and Trengove punching through a point for a late winner against Port. We also had one game in NT where Jurrah turned it on I think.
  11. If Sandilands went for his hit, Cameron should go too. But I bet he doesn't.
  12. Stevie J is brilliant to watch. Would happily have had in our side and we'd be three goals better off per game - he is involved in at least that many per match. Dude is an absolute freak.
  13. Just Google. "Bendigo population" and it gives that figure. Perhaps that's 'greater region' or some such malarkey as per Wikipedia: "Bendigo has an urban population of 82,794 making it the fourth largest inland city in Australia and fourth most populous city in the state. It is the administrative centre for the City of Greater Bendigo which encompasses both the urban area and outlying towns spanning an area of approximately 3,000 square kilometres (1,158 sq mi) and over 111,000 people."
  14. I completely agree that we need to continue to look to sell games unfortunately. What about Bendigo? Dogs have Ballarat as a shorts sponsor akin to Hawks with Tasmania and us with NT, so we've missed that country market. But Bendigo is bigger anyway? Ballarat - 96k Bendigo - 146k
  15. Richmond looked awful, Port weren't much better and Sydney would have to have some concerns you'd think. Crows and Gold Coast were an interesting match up I thought - hard to know what the Suns are actually going to be like until the little master returns, but they definitely look to lack tall goal kicking options. Crows looks like they're just going to be super competitive and tough to beat but not in the class of the best six or so sides in the comp.
  16. first half they were really good. hawks are just a steamrolling machine. easter monday should be a ripper with dangerfield in the sort of form he's in currently.
  17. pies, dogs, cats, dockers, hawks, and kangas all look like pretty handy sides.
  18. i just want to see him out on the park first and foremost. It's interesting that they might be thinking of him more as a deep-lying forward as opposed to one who pushes up the ground, or even as part of the midfield rotations. hopefully that will come, as i definitely don't want him to solely be a forward - we need him to a bursting away from the packs mid as he was in his last underage year.
  19. beyond the sponsorship, from a media perspective, the nt deal was reasonably successful in terms of driving repucom. the biggest issue is it's never the free-to-air game back to victoria - but it is when we play in alice obviously, but that's less value for us and more for port! i'm all for stopping the deal, but i don't know how we make up the shortfall in revenue.
  20. based on his preseason, matt jones would seem to be the obvious answer.
  21. But with more players than in round 1. Expect to see a lot of very tired players when the real thing starts.
  22. roy masters had the story out and about i reckon two years ago that the nt govt sporting sector was more interested in nrl than afl.
  23. you can't stream afl live pass on pc 'live', only in replay.
  24. They're also much more interested in the NRL as noted by his comments. Port Adelaide would be a perfect fit for NT, but they don't need to sell their games so there's no need to have a team there.
