Another example of stats that are rubbish. I love the Big Rush as much as anyone, but I'll take my brilliant memory over some stats that only record goals and behinds. Early on his kicking at goal was embarrassing. He often didn't make the distance, put it OOTF or across the face. Also those that went through were often shockers off the boot. His run/walk up was a more exaggerated hunch than it is now and it looked ridiculous - like he was mowing the lawn with a miniature lawnmower. He was a terrible shot at goal. Like everything else, he's improved it greatly.

Just bad memories of playing these pricks... However I said then and I'll say now. Round 1 wasn't THAT bad. We started badly and got blown away. Second half we held our own. We lost it before the game started. We're a harder, more confident team now. Time for some payback.
-
I'm a fan when he's on. And I reckon he'll kick 10 goals one day. I was in the rooms after we flogged Brisbane at the G this year, Bate had to be helped off the ground and could hardly walk, Luke Ball style. There's definitely something wrong with him. That said, if he's the only one we lose, I'd be over the moon. Dunn has gone past Bate. Tapscott will get a hff, Petterd has to come in and can play lead up or close to goal. We can afford to lost Bate.
-
Can't go past that. Brilliant. What about Sylvia's pace? He took off like a rocket. There was also a nice passage from the kick-in, all the way for a Dunn goal. Also Jones and Rivers getting down low and hard, getting smashed, earning the free, getting up like it was nothin'. We've been very hard at it of late.

Franklin and Roughead to be benched when their double teaming tagging role on Chip completely fails. Seriously, Wonna's return to form with 5 goals, but we still lose, by 20.
-
It's a trend. We're hard to score against once it gets in there. Collingwood, Freo and Richmond all spent a long time inside fifty against us and had difficulty getting a goal.
-
My Dad is a Richmond supporter, he went for the first time in about 15 years (funnily enough, that was about when I converted my little brother to a Dee), I didn't sit with him, but he was telling me before some Richmond fans were making some pretty disgusting comments about LJ, I won't repeat them. He wanted to confront them, but was with Mum and some friends from Tassie and thought better of it. He hates Melbourne (thanks to me) but sat there ashamed of his own supporters. Sad, I doubt he'll go again.

Damn, I missed this little nugget. You ma'am, are a moron. I was giving Riewoldt credit. Kicking 60+ goals with that sort of delivery is a brilliant effort. How it was any way like a Watts comment is anyone's guess, but as I said, you're obviously a moron.

Can we burn the candle at both ends?

The Port win was a horrible last quarter too. I'd prefer the fast starts and clinging on for the win, slow starts and catch up footy is bad for my blood pressure. They'll get it right, only the powerhouses consistently win all 4 quarters, even Collingwood eased up last week. We're still young and developing, it's good to see a problem get addressed, such as the starts in the last few weeks. You could be right about Richmond, if they're close they'll be a big problem. The first game against them this year they looked gassed after half time, they look much fitter now. -
Could not agree more. There are now some of the sharpest hands I've ever seen at the club, kids that just instinctively clear the ball into the best position. Jordie, Scully, Trengove Watts and Gysberts (I hear Tapscott does well too) are superb, whether it's been a glimpse, like Jizz, or game after game, Jordie. The old firm don't compare. Junior should step aside. He's had a great career.
-
ooooo, half right.
-
Cut off his leads? He hardly gets it on the lead. The fact that he has kicked 60+ goals blows my mind. It's mostly bomb it long to Riwoldt and hope type stuff. And he often wins. He'd nearly have 100 already if he was in a team that could hit him on the lead. But you're on the right track, Rivers and Garland will make it difficult for it to start now. I hope Chip plays on him, the only one that could match his one on one strength, I don't want Warnock back in. Wonder if Riewoldt has the engine to chase Chip the other way?
-
I wouldn't drop Jurrah, this game will bring him into form, at the minimum he'll kick 2 rippers, loves the G. But probably deserves to be dropped.
-
Our best player. Not our most consistent obviously, but his best is well above anyone elses. It's funny watching him in the members when he's out injured, he stops and talks to absolutely everyone, looks like a politician with his big grin and handshake greeting the public - only much more sincere. That said, I hope I never see it again. He'll demolish Richmond. 'grats.
-
Out: McDonlad In: Trengove Should be simple, but it's not.
-
You can't throw in the North and West Coast games. We were comprehensively outplayed on the field and in the box. And neither game was even close. I said at the time, if we miss out on the finals by one game after that Bulldogs umpiring debacle that I'll blow something up. I better buy some balloons or risk going to prison.

One 'note' this week sounded like Superman stood on a duck.

Sell Etihad... really out of left field !!

It's a professional sport. I don't pay to watch junior footy. Maybe F1 should have a go-kart track in one round, the NBA should have a few games on Venice Beach and the Ashes moved to Warnie's backyard. -

I do when Jack Grimes rips his hammy on it. And also when I'm watching top liners like Hodge slipping over when they could actually be dazzling us with good footy. Give it to the homeless. -
Because 2 more months is going to make a difference to 85 years of failure, bar 1. No one in their current VFL team could step in and bust open a final, except Akker.
-
It's all about Akker, he's done it at 2 clubs now. BUT, I reckon the Bulldogs have stuffed up a bit. What, they can't deal with someone that whinges about wanting a game? Boohoo. Who cares? What if someone gets injured? Johnson or Higgins go down on the eve of finals. I'd want an idiot with a big mouth that gets it done in finals as backup. And if he fails, they can then cut the cord instead of going too early. I say all this based on what has been said up until now, of course there could be more to it.

What is Giansiracusa's link to all this?
