Enjoy it fellas. I expect a full report, and photos of Arianny.

God damn I wish I could go. And Rashad is the man, hope his knee gets better and V Rampage 2 is as good or better than the first time. So did Thiago Silva return positive??
-
God damn, thought it'd be lights out for Lytle. What's with all the knees? Rua, Rashad, Condit... Damn shame, that could've been fight of the night. Any word on a replacement?

All I could think about watching that video was Sylvio wacking Adrianna. UFC 126 below He is a god, a Jedi, a ninja, a freak. I was worried about this fight, thought Vitor was a big chance, I'm a Vitor fan too, but I just want Anderson's legend to keep growing. And it is. What the hell was that kick?? I felt it in the back of my brain, but wasn't quite sure if I really saw it. Just plain craziness. He credits Steven Segal with teaching him that kick, lol. I'm sure Chri$ Judd is impressed. What next at MW? There's nothing left. Bisping? Give me a break, Jorge Rivera will KHTFO anyway in Sydney. I doubt the UFC would give Jorge a shot, but I'd like to see it. He'd try and KO Silva for sure. Marquart again? Pfft. Anderson said he won't move up or down, he's staying put - So I guess it's on GSP to move up, has he the balls? I doubt it, and frankly think he has too much to lose in doing so. Only a massive pay cheque will make it happen. The rest of card I didn't really enjoy. Torres was too safe and boring, Banuellos even more safe and stupid. Franklin and Forrest failed to deliver as well, I knew it would. Bader was smashed, I was going for Bader but thought Bones would win, not THAT easily! Most exciting part of the card apart from Silva v Vitor was seeing Bones get told he has a title shot. Rocha has the greatest Jiu-Jitsu that goes absolutely nowhere that I've ever seen lol. He's one to watch. Prelims were good, Kingsbury was impressive. Bring on Sydney. BJ Sots Rivera.

I've read Maynard saying he can't hit the notes he used to be able to hit. Also he tries to maintain his voice, this is a big tour with a lot of shows, he won't go on if his voice sucks, so he makes some compromises. I know he's an arty [censored] to some people, but he has a point. It's not like breaking a string or a drumstick if his voice goes. What about Danny's drumming? He's 50 ffs! You won't see better drumming than that. Strikeforce commentating is SO annoying. The whole organisation has a below par feel about it. But I simply fast forward straight to the fights and don't worry about the rest. I've only watched the last 3 events, forced myself to get into it because I'm an mma fan and they have some good fighters over there that I need to watch. Henderson, Fedor, Overeem, Mayhem, Jacare Souza, Semtex Daley... But yeah, turn the volume down for sure.

Like you said in the other thread, setlist wasn't great. Setlist wasn't great but the show was. Sound was insane, the end of Third Eye was just crazy. I loved it, but my 2 complaints are that they played Intention - why? And Maynard not singing the climax of Vicarious, although I get that it's much better for us to sing it than him. Apart from that I had a ball, hadn't seen Third Eye the three times I saw them, so I can now tick that off the list. Just need Pushit next time.... Playing Orion during Lateralus was awesome, then leading into the drum-off, that was the highlight. Oh and You Lied, can't believe they played that! I hear you about strikeforce, but the last couple have been pretty good. I know they make mismatched fights a lot, but there's been some killer KO's and subs lately, and some excellent fights. They do have some talent over there now. That Nick Diaz a-hole is an animal, man can he fight, but my god is he easy to hate. Also they've got a heavyweight tournament coming up on the 12th (I think) which is a must watch for any mma fan. Fedor, Overeem, Arlofski, Werdum to name a few. I'll go for Andre Arlofski, money is on Overeem.

Anyone watch Diaz v Cyborg yesterday?
-
I think Sots deserves it too, but I think I'm a little biased, heh. The one problem is Siver is decent, but he's not a huge scalp, it's definitely not a #1 contender bout in the public view (should be Dan Miller). So there'll be arguments against Sots, unless he is spectacular in winning. Having said all that, Dana DOES rate Siver, so it may come down to Dana's view, or him "giving the fans what they want." I want an Aussie world champion! Yeah Yves Edwards is back, looked ok, not like his younger dominating years (looked like a mini me Anderson Silva back then), but he beat that guillotine wielding hillbilly dipshyte Cody McKenzie, and that is awesome.
-
Silva by arm bar. Toss a coin..... ..Griffin by decision. Bones Jones by T/KO... but I'll put some money on Bader just for the good odds. Gaybe Reudiger is fighting on that card too LOL. Hope he loses by heart attack. Fight for the troops discussion below. Handsome Matt Wiman looked great, good energy, good dominating fight. Matt Mitrione - I can't tell you how much I hated that guy on TUF, but I've taken a real liking to him in his UFC fights, will be interesting to see if he holds up against a better quality opponent. Damn Tim Hague is weird lookin'. Hominick, wow, crisp! Roop ain't easy to fight for most people, but Hominick hardly missed a shot. Will be interesting to see if he can tag Jose Aldo, I doubt it. Gotta get through them leg kicks first... Speaking of leg kicks... Pat Barry... wtf is going on with this guy? I'm a fan, but only just hanging on. Was he actually trying to BE Cro Cop last night? Style was exactly the same, but Cro Cop has killer instinct, as Pat himself found out 7 months ago. Those leg kicks were destroying Beltran, yes Beltran is tough, but Pat just didn't keep the leg kicks up, could've got at least an extra 20 in, actually just another 5 good ones would've finished him off. Instead he was going for the highlight knock out. Just fight man. I fear he'll be another Brandon Vera, when he could be anything. How about that lightweight division? How are all these blokes going to get a title shot? It's that stacked at the moment. Melvin looks unbelievable, reckon he'd beat anyone at the moment, imagine he tagged Frankie? It'd be all over. Sotiropoulos, Guillard, Miller, Pettis just to name a few, good fights coming up to decide who'll get shots, but gee some of them will be unlucky. Maynard is lucky he gets another shot. Yves Edwards!! Where the hell has he been? Can't believe he's still fighting. And thank F... he beat that dirty hill billy. Was a good card.
-
125 below... Title fight. WOW with a capital HOLY FFFU... Edgar dethroned my boy BJ, then beat him again, so I was never really a fan, just thought BJ was too bored at lightweight and too lazy to cut weight properly. But Franky just won me over big time, firstly because I don't like Grey Maynard, and secondly because my god, what heart that kid has! Never seen someone come back like that after being smashed so badly, if it was boxing it'd have been all over. Franky's boxing skills are sublime, I reckon he won the last 4 rounds, definitely 3 out of 4 - Maynard could not out wrestle him. Sucked that it was a draw, but an awesome title fight. Pettis gets next title shot, so sucks to be Grey Maynard who'll still be sulking in his next fight (Sotiropoulos?) and lose. Leben got smashed, must still be christmas. Leben reckons he was sick, was still fun to watch him get belted. Brandon Vera will surely get kicked out of the UFC? I was once a fan, but that was a weak effort. Although I wouldn't even want to get into a verbal fight with Thiago Silva, he's a killer. Uninjured he adds even more excitement to the LHW division. I think Vera is the first bloke to have his nose smashed by a slap. Nate Diaz lost, too bad he wasn't KO'd or choked or had limbs broken... I love Gomi, so that fight sucked, Guida's movement was annoying as hell, but kudos to him for the win, you don't want to stand in front of the Fireball Kid. Enjoyed seeing the Irish Hand Grenade get KTFO. I was really impressed with Tevares, his combos were crisp, he took a hit, Baroni hits hard too, then he messed Baroni up. Very nice. I'm loving the fact that there'll be feather and bantam weight fights now, means more good high energy fights. The Poirier v Grispi fight was excellent. Luckily for Grispi he didn't end up fighting Aldo...
-
Surely has already. From what I've seen, his killer instinct is better than Anderson Silva's. The kid is an animal. Can't wait to see him bring it to the big stage, will take it up another notch.
-
What the f.... that is crazy, Tony Jaa type craziness. Cro Cop tried that once but the octagon flipped over.
-
So did anyone go? I was going to take my little cousin (as a smoke screen for wanting my stuff signed) but couldn't make it in time.
-
I think you meant Silva vs Griffen, I thought the same thing, I think Daddy should change his name to Glassjaw. At least Forest had the excuse of being beat up before an Anderson Silva jab floored him. The Silva vs Leben fight is beautiful, I think I counted Silva landing 24 of 26 strikes. Leben landed... well, on the floor. I hate Danzig too, he won't kill a bug but he'll knock a fella unconscious on his kids birthday? Smoked far too many bongs growing up that guy. Riddell got owned I thought, Peirson was landing jabs all night. But I was hoping Riddell would land one of his bombs. Did you see when he broke that fellas jaw on the ultimate fighter? That was crazy. It didn't get fight of the night, the public got to vote, and the GSP fanboys voted for GSP v Kos. Dana wasn't happy, said the public won't get to vote again because they blew it. He said he'll take care of Riddell and Peirson because that was really FOTN.
-
Damn. I can't go. It's my brothers engagement, of course. However I won't complain, they picked a date in between gigs I'm going to, the 127 was announced. Will have to wait for when it hits Melbourne.
-
True, and I've developed a new found respect for GSP, he probably is the smartest fighter in the world, his stategies and explanations are fascinating to hear. I just don't buy the best pound for pound for pound stuff. Anderson Silva has fought and finished every type of fighter there is, he has been a front runner, he has come back from a beating, he's even been bored he's that good. There's no question in my mind he's the best mixed martial artist we will all probably ever see. The good news is GSP is talking about moving up to 185 and staying there. So the dream fight may still happen. I guess that'd end my other dream of Anderson moving up and smashing the LHW division before he retires.

124 discussion below Great fights. But I'll get my only negative out of the way. GSP, great fighter no doubt, best 170 pounder too, but please spare me the best pound for pound fighter in the world garbage. The best fighters finish fights, GSP scores and survives, a skill for sure, but the universal love for this guy and the 'best p4p' stuff drives me nuts. He couldn't finish a pure striker in Hardy even though he had his arm for 15 minutes. He couldn't knock out / down a rubbish Koscheck who has a glass jaw, and only had one eye. I can't even remember the last fight he finished, at least his fans are guaranteed 25 minutes. His stand up was superb though. Koscheck hardly gave a yelp. My boy Skyscraper Struve pulls another win out, I find him very entertaining, unco, yet has a huge heart and puts on a show. Great reversal and ground and pound. How about McCorkle's trash talking? lol Pittbull is back, surprised that fight wasn't finished, but I'm glad to see Alves bounce back. Bocek's triangle transition was beautiful! Crazy move. Sean Penn... I mean Mac Danzig's lefty was a highlight. Matt Riddell is clinically insane. Enjoyed that card quite a bit. 125 looks good too.
-
That is brilliant, just brilliant. Though I'm not sure how Jardine got a gig... Look at Chuck begging for one more round of punching Tito in the face. LOL@ the pile of cash to lure Fedor. Poor Hendo out the door, come back!

Spoilers below... Nam was effin ripped. I love this sport, but sometimes the judging just makes me wonder wtf I bother. The MMA world in general, not just the UFC need to do something about it as Joe Rogan said. I mean this isn't just about a win and a loss, these men and women fight for their living. It's just completely ridiculous to think they can train for 2 months, go in and put their safety on the line, clearly dominate their opponent, then go home with a losers paycheck. And in Nam's case it wasn't even that bs line "never leave it in the hands of the judges", it's not his fault Garcia can't be knocked out. Nam landed beautiful power punches to the head and body, and landed great combos, you can't do much more than that. Brookins has heart, no stand up, but damn he took a beating and came back strong. Worthy winner, and the obvious flaws he has in his stand up will be easily ironed out, especially because he is already very disciplined. The rest of the night was a bit lacklustre for me, Maia looked good, but then I can't remember the last time Grove won. GSP knock Kos out? I hope so! GSP fights bore me to tears (except when Matt Serra belted him) so I'd love him to actually finish one for once, Koscheck has done himself no favours bad mouthing GSP, I think it'll help GSP being that angry. However, for entertainments sake, I'm predicting Josh by KO early first round. I think GSP fans would riot whilst crying. Bring on Sunday arvo!
-
I hope Brookins chokes Johnson, could go either way though. Johnson looks scary as hell when he bothers to explode, although being cocky and letting blokes up just to take them down again will come back to bite him sooner or later. Finale should be up any minute... Why didn't they show Jeff Lentz punch Spencer Paige in the face in the backyard as advertised? Spewin. As for Nam, he's going to be fighting at featherweight in the UFC, reckon he'll go far.
-
I'd like to see it too, but doubt it will happen, Dana knows marketing, and knows Rampage is a drawcard, so some top contender type match (Rampage v Bones/Bader?) will be on his mind... I like watching Rampage whatever the case. Machida too, just not when he's in ultra defensive mode. Can a mod move this to the sport section?
-
At the post fight press conference, Dana was ranting and non too pleased about Rampage's reaction. Said he clearly won 2 rounds to 1, and didn't understand why Rampage had his head down and claimed he got his arse whooped. Rampage was late and walked in during this dig, he calmly sat down and explained himself, said to pay no attention to what he said after the fight, he was smashed in the 3rd, took some hard hits and "he just landed a flurry, on my face" and because of that he forgot about what happened in the first 2 rounds and thought he lost. Still gave a lot of respect to Machida. Dana said there would not be a rematch.
-
Yeah I like the look of Falcao too, reminds me of Thiago Alves a bit. Looked a bit tentative, maybe first UFC nerves, but when he threw he looked great, that first combo was crazy. He was also totally ripped off - not sure if you noticed, but at the end of round 1 when he had the rear naked sunk in, the sticks clap at 10 seconds, then the horn sounds 2 seconds later. What's up with that? Harris would have tapped or passed out in that lost 8 seconds. And yeah, BJ losing to Edgar baffles me to this day. He just stood there doing not much. I blame my avatar, I put BJ in it before the first Edgar fight, cursed him. Took him off after the second loss, then he floors Hughes. Injuries to Wonna and Jurrah have coincided with my avatar too. Sadly the curse doesn't work on people I don't like.

Anyone watch 123? We'll skip 122 because it sucked balls. Spoiler alert! Don't scroll down if you haven't watched 123. UFC 127 will be in Sydney, Acer Arena Feb 27th. BJ Penn vs John Fitch George Sitiropoulos vs Dennis Siver The Prodigy is back! Destroyed that jerk Matt Hughes in devistating fashion. What a freak. I hope he stays at 170, looked bored at 155 and fed up with cutting weight (no pun intended). Aussie George is the real deal, Lauzon gassed trying to push the pace AND avoid George taking him down. Great fight. George should beat Siver if he gets it to the ground = title shot. I'm glad Rampage won, not sure he actually did, but Machida deserved to lose, it's the UFC, not dodgeball. Dumb thing is, when Machida does engage he's devastating, so why not just fight? Other fights were great too, Davis and Foster looked excellent. One of the better recent UFC events. Can't wait to see BJ live.

I watched the whole Q&A, did you ask any questions? It's pretty amazing, Dana will answer anything, if he doesn't have the answer he asks someone to find it.
