Arguably they are all surrounded by far better midfields than ours. Makes a big difference. Des Headland looked like a star in the awesome Brisbane premiership teams but was never as good when he went to Freo cause he didn't have the gun midfielder to support him. Also, Trengove was chasing the opposition from start to finish this year when all the others had given up, he ran himself into the ground. If the team is pulling it's collective weight, blokes like Jack won't have to pull the others along.

Anyone else just see the news.com.au headline and fill their pants. "Grimes floored again by injury". Was massively relieved it was his brother Dylan.

Let's stop screaming and start cheering!
hells bells replied to premiers13's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope im proven to be wrong in timw but IMO Today has been a dark day in the footy club. Loss: Morton - pick 4 Gysberts pick 11 Pick 60 odd Gained: Pederson, tall guy who can't get a game for North. Pick 70 odd and pick 88 Prior to today I though we'd had a good trade period. After today I'm not so sure. -
I feel this could be another Scott Thompson debacle. High draft pick, injury prone first few years, leaves the club, turns into a champion. I don't see us as winners if the deal is a straight swap for Pederson. Personally I don't see the gain in Pederson at all, but that's not on topic.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CAMERON PEDERSEN
hells bells replied to Hannibal's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sounds just like the guy we're trying to offload to Brisbane. I fail to see what Pedersen will offer above Martin. If you looked at Martin's highlight package you would see some great acts. This one has me stumped!! -
IMO the effectiveness of both Martin and Jamar will be compromised. I'm hoping that Maxy Gawn is ready to go round 1.

2012 Player Review - # 32 Michael Evans (R)

I agree with the above posters, IMO if he is fit he is a better prospect than Nicholson, Strauss, Jetta and Bail. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JESSE HOGAN
hells bells replied to Little Richard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Apologies if this has been asked and answered previously. I understand that Jesse is not able to play for the Dees in 2013 but does he actually take a spot on the senior list or does he come onto the list at the end of 2013? Or is he under some sort of special rookie spot? Cheers, Hells -

I believe the deal is 3 and 13 to GWS for Hogan and pick 20. That's the way it reads on The Age website. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
hells bells replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm already convinced that if we take him at 3 he won't be any good. On the other hand I'm equally convinced that if he goes to the Gold Coast he'll be a champion. Could be MFCSS. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
hells bells replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
The worst case scenario is that GC nominate for Viney, and I believe they will. We should be preparing our drafting strategies on it happening. If he's a top 5 draft pick I don't have a problem with him coming at 3 when we have another pick at 4. I've spoken to a recruiting person and he's said that he is like a shorter version of Joel Selwood. I'm happy to give up pick 3 if that turns out correct. -
I know a member of the family who has been notified, I understand not all have been notified. Such shattering news for a lovely family.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SHANNON BYRNES
hells bells replied to Pates's topic in Melbourne Demons
Shannon Byrnes is not the answer. He is a turnover merchant and we've got enough on our list. I would only take him for a very late pick in the Pre-Season Draft if at all. -
I think Davey will go too. Have heard rumors...

hells bells replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is officially it. I've invested too much time, energy and emotion in this club. I'm not going to do it any more i'm sick of the depression. This will ruin my weekend now. I've just decided I'm not doing it any more. Hells Bells out! -

We just don't get enough ball. Garland top possessions with 11. Hawks have 10 players with more than 11, that's half the bloody side. -
