  1. My only issue with us selecting Clayton Oliver, is that I'll forever wonder if his parents mucked up filling in the birth registry paperwork and that his name should really be Oliver Clayton.
  2. GRRM More likely than a drink driving scam...
  3. I have a feeling he won't last to 7. Just a gut feel
  4. I stand corrected Dirty Dog I thought I read 12 somewhere.
  5. You say it would be a terrible pick at 3 yet in your prediction you think he could go the next live pick to Essendon at 4. So he is a terrible pick at 3 yet a likely good enough to be picked at 4. If he gets through the session today I'd take him at 3. When fit he looks a sensational prospect. Watch his highlights video, he moves a lot like Pavlich. 12 marks against big bodies in the AIS v Bullants game. He can play. I like Parish too but I think it's simplistic to say Weideman's a terrible pick at 3. How many guns have slipped down the draft because of injuries? Judd, Selwood, Darling, I'm sure there are many more. If we want another competitive dominant key forward he is it. Curnow is not. I don't want to regret this draft, I don't want this to be a Fiora pick over a Pavlich pick.
  6. Good pick up DD. Apologies for the confusion.
  7. I see Cal Twomey has just tweeted that he thinks it's more unlikely than likely that we'll take Parish. Grain - Salt
  8. I spoke to a family member of a current player yesterday and he said it was expected that they would take Parish at 3. Whether he was speculating or had heard from inside the club I couldn't be sure. Anyway thought I'd pass it on.
  9. The new highlights package is pretty bloody impressive.
  10. Looks and moves a lot like pre Carlton Daisy Thomas IMO
  11. If Weideman, Francis and Curnow are gone we simply take the next best talent available. I don't want us to take the next best tall simply because we want a tall. Of course that's assuming that those 3 are rated within the top 7.
  12. I see in one of the papers this morning he's been likened to Joel Selwood, albeit from someone out of the Geelong Falcons.
  13. Could the plan be for the club to go to the draft with only 1 live pick (i.e. 6) with a few late picks to upgrade VDB and Harmes? If that's the case what does it matter that we've given up pick 25. The draft is reportedly very week after 20 odd, so maybe we don't bother with a pick after 6. Just a thought.
  14. It's funny that Dodoro said it's for pick 25 and JM said that it would be a second rounder and that 25 would be around the mark. I expect this will take till next week now. We'll be trying to get a pick closer to 30 to trade to the Bombers. Good planning by the club if that's what's happening.
  15. If we get pick 19 or similar for Howe. In effect Melksham replaces Howe and we move 6 positions in the draft. Not such a bad result,
  16. This is all part of the List Management strategy IMO. Like him or not Melksham is a massive upgrade on Bail Kennedy is 22 and from a potential perspective offers more than Riley. Bugg only 21 and is a better player than Mckenzie. It increases the depth of the squad no doubt.
  17. Adam, love to get a PM too.
  18. Does Melksham become a tagger to free up Bernie as the skilled outside mid we've been looking for.
  19. AzzKika, Not sure if you are being serious. Do you really think the club wouldn't be across this? You must have a very low opinion of the entire organization if you think they wouldn't have weighed up everything before making a call such as this.
  20. I'm underwhelmed by Melksham, but you have to back Roosy. Many times when he was at Sydney I laughed at the players they picked up only to be wrong. If you go back through the list he hasn't missed on too many: 2002 Nick Davis - Pies Craig Bolton - P/S Brisbane 2003 No trades 2004 Darren Jolly - Melbourne 2005 Ted Richards - Essendon 2006 Peter Everitt - Hawks 2007 Marty Mattner - Adelaide Henry Playfair - Geelong 2008 Rhyce Shaw - Pies 2009 Mark Seaby - Eagles Shane Mumford - Geelong Ben McGlynn - Hawks Josh Kennedy - Hawks 2010 No trades MELBOURNE 2013 Daniel Cross - Bulldogs FA Aiden Riley - Crows FA Viv Michie - Freo Dom Tyson - GWS Bernie Vince - Adelaide 2014 Ben Newton - Port FA Jeff Garlett - Carlton Lumumba - Pies Sam Frost - GWS I'll back him, Goodwin and Macca to make this one a positive trade too.
  21. Luke Parker This would be my dream!!
