  1. I would think Harmes would be ahead of Jetta based on the training reports.
  2. I'm sure mentally it would be great for us to rest our "stars" and get belted by 80 points plus in all our warm up games. Just what a team with no confidence needs. Play the best team available, taking into account rest and rotation policy and those drafees and rookies whose training over the summer has warranted selection.
  3. I just assumed it was the same guy posting in different places under different names...
  4. I remember he was just starting to blossom as a player. His final game from memory was against the bombers in a final, and he finished the game on James Hird and played really well. The footage from the tsunami is still haunting and his death saving his new bride was the ultimate sacrifice. I know I had a tear in my eye round 1 the following year, as most did. Reminded us all that it is only a game. RIP Troy Broadbridge #20
  5. Having not seen a game in 2013, due to a mixture of moving away from the city, newborn baby and a general disgust in the team I've got quite a few that I'm looking forward to seeing play in 2014. Jimmy Toumpas Jack Viney Mitch Clark Jesse Hogan Dom Tyson Viv Michie Chris Dawes (fit) Christian Salem JKH For the first time in a long time I'm looking forward to seeing the team play
  6. I'm having Alistair Nicholson like heart palpitations already...
  7. He moves a little like Justin Westhoff. Hope he can turn into as good a player...
  8. Agree of the Fyfe comparison. What a dream result that would be.
  9. I'm coming around to Salem, purely because we need elite kicking skills. And the comparison to Hannebury.
  10. I was going to raise this point too. It is also important to reduce the effectiveness of the opponent. If anyone saw the final between Geelong and Freo, they woulda have seen Sandilands give the Freo mids an armchair ride. Geelong couldn't combat him.
  11. I would seriously love us to land a huge sponsorship with Range Rover. Embrace the stereotype.
  12. This is exactly the player I thought of when I watched the footage but I couldn't think of his name.
  13. Only basing tgis judgement on the footage but he looks very 1 sided. Looked to go on his right every time even when hi had more space on his left. I appreciate that he is quick but so is Sam Blease. I think Lennon looks much cleaner and classier.
  14. Michael Walters goes pretty good for a small forward. I think someone like Luke Bruest would be perfect. I see similarities in Ben Lennon and that's why I hope we pick up him at 9.
  15. Mary: "I'd say more like 1 out if a million" Lloyd: "So you're telling me there's a chance... Yeah!!!"
  16. It means they are going to have to work harder to get a game. I like both M jones and Pickles, but it's by no means a bad thing. Excellent for the team as a whole
  17. I'm hoping Roos can turn him into a Ryan O'keefe MkII
  18. I heard a rumour and I stress only a rumour that several Essendon players will be getting substantial bans and Hird will be getting a lifetime ban.
  19. I agree it seems to be different, and I hope to god that it has changed for the better, but I've felt this way before. Maybe it's my MFCSS kicking in.
  20. This is funny... I hope you're right bbub but recent history would suggest otherwise.
  21. I thought I heard on SEN or 3AW that Melbourne had been in discussion with an Essendon player. It may have been North Melbourne but I'm pretty sure they said Melbourne. Anyone hear that rumour? If so who was the player?
  22. I heard his a couple of weeks ago from a mate who is a recruiter for another club. He felt there was uncertainty over who would be coach after 2 years. My argument was that doesn't hold up because there would be few clubs confident that their coach will still be present in 2 years. Probably only Geelong, Hawthorn, Freo, Sydney, Carlton, Port and now Brisbane.
