  1. Brad Green career worst form
  2. Stefan Martin instead of shepperding ran to the spot Sylvia was running. What was he thinking.
  3. Any chance Green, Davey, frawley so called leaders might step up
  4. You guys are all way too confident, if any one could lose an unlosable game it would be us. If we're a decent side should win by 10 to 15 goals. But we are just going and will probably win by around 5. Enough to paper over the cracks and keep the wolves from the door. Be afraid!!!
  5. Martin, Tapscott have been impressive so far. I thought Bail was excellent yesterday too. Especially in the first half. Also played well in Round 1. Haven´t been a huge wrap for him but am happy to stand corrected on that one. Keep it up Rohan
  6. I thought it was very poor form from Hawthorn. When Brad Green went to Luke Hodge at half time and requested a ¨sit down¨ protest in the second half, he obviously reneged on the deal and we were caught out. It's the only explanation I can come up with.
  7. Good in, good out IMO. Both had poor games. Rivers gets reprieve because of the Buddy, Roughy, Hale threesome. To be honest I thought Joel Mac Was lucky not to get rubbed out for his kick/trip. Well done Demons.
  8. I have serious concerns about our midfield. I think our forward line is strong and our backline although weakened will probably break even. I'd look at having Bail run with Goodes, Dunn at CHF. Sylvia will have to play in the midfield most of the game. Moloney and Jones worry me in the middle. A lot of attempted tackle breaking rather than creating handballs to runners. Our forward line could dominate, but the ball has to get down there. Intensity is what we'll need and is something we haven't seen all preseason. I'm nervous, I think we'll get rolled and its one we should win.
  9. Personally looking at the footage, I thought he moved a little like J. Brown. Maybe I'm just hopeful...
  10. I have a friend in the recruiting caper who I respect, and when I asked who he thought Melbourne would take with pick 12 he said Lynch. Don't know if he was taking the p!ss but I think he's in a position where he would know and I believe him. Hells
  11. Just goes to show how much of a one man team Carlton are. When they win he is normally BOG. 30 votes next from Carlton was 9. Swan, Ablett, Hayes were all unlucky(lucky) that they are in teams with far greater spread of talent, Pendlebury & Didak, Selwood, Montagna and Goddard all shared the votes from their teams. Congrats to Judd great player. Doubt he'll win another flag though. Think the Dees will move past them next year they are treading water IMO. (beat me to it Chook)
  12. That's a shame. I'm a Melbourne fan through and through but I still find enjoyment in watching talented players. He certainly is that!!!
  13. Haven't seen him play much but he is having some sort of game tonight!
  14. I'm not suprised by this weeks changes to be honest. Am a little miffed by the hysteria. PJ has battled IMO and at the start of the year I thought Juice played pretty well in the pinch hit role. Macdonald injured Frawley can play his role and Warnock steps into the true full back role. Morton replaces Davey as an outside runner and sweeper. Bail has plenty of the ball but has turned it over a lot and given away a lot of frees. He may still play if Beamer doesn't come up. The ones who would be worried would be Miller and Cheney. Both may be in the gun.
  15. Huge huge fan of the new Emblem. Couldn't be more proud of this club at the moment!!!
  16. 6. Green 5. Jamar 4. Sylvia 3. Moloney 2. Dunn 1. Trengove Apologies to Garland, Frawley, Bruce
  17. Didn't see Hannabery(sp?) today but I thought Trengove was awesome for us. He's got to be a red hot chance for the award. Could be a close run thing this year.
  18. Used to be a huge fan but he frustrates me no end at the moment. Today he was good, but I doubt he would be missed next year if Morton was playing the same role. Interesting the commentators said last week I think that he kicked his 1st goal in over a year. Used to be able to rely on him for at least 1 or 2 a game. Great servant of the club slowly fading out of the side. Sick of him nearly killing his team mates.
  19. He was OK today but I think that Newton would've been picked ahead of him had he not been injured. Rightly or wrongly I thought Newton was the logical "2nd Ruckman" although Johnson didn't embarrass himself too much today.

    Rivers

Has been horrible most of the year and I was suprised that he was signed for 2 more years, but today was his best game for the year. If you want to smack Rivers, this was not the game to do it.
  21. Cheney is the only obvious one to be dropped. I don't know what his problem is, he's either slow or he thinks he is faster than he is. I think he is quicker than he shows but he only runs at 3/4 pace. He's obviously not lightning but doesn't do himself any favours by strolling. I noticed it this week and especially last week. In particular there was a moment when he got the ball on the wing and was clear, but just jogged away from the contest and within 10 or so steps was caught. Had he put in 4 or 5 steps of 'sprinting' he would never have been caught. If the pace he shows in his general play is flat out he won't make it. Out: Cheney In: Bail
  22. JACKATTACK I think you are thinking of the great win against Fremantle at Subiaco circa 2006. torrential rain
  23. I was at this game and I have reflected on it a number of times in the past few years. Leading into this game Melbourne had a win-loss record of 13-7 and were well placed to make a charge deep into September. Geelong were on the improve after starting the year terribly and Thompson nearly getting the sack. The first half of the game we were killing them, but after half time we just stopped. We had a top 4 spot to play for but it didn't matter we disintegrated and in the end were lucky to come away with a draw. I don't know what happened during the game but I've since felt it was a turning point in the paths of both clubs. The trajectory of both teams went in completely opposite directions. Geelong went on to finish 10th behind who else but Richmond. I think we ended limping into the finals after being smashed by Adeliade in round 22, finishing 6th or 7th. We had a great comeback win against an injury depleted St Kilda in the first final then got smashed by Freo at Subiaco. We came into 2007 with most expecting a real tilt at the flag, we lost the first 9 games and the coach was sacked by round 13. We finished with 5 wins (one a gift from Carlton). Geelong won the flag by over 100points. 2008: Melbourne 3 wins and a wooden spoon, Geelong were runners up to Hawthorn 2009: Melbourne 4 wins and a wooden spoon, Geelong another premiership. If you had've told me after that game that Melbourne would win 12 games in the next 3 years and Geelong would contest the next 3 grand finals winning two I'd have called for the straight jacket and a padded cell. Funny how things turn out.
