  1. Most have outlined the reasons for excitement that came out of the game. One thing I haven't noticed mentioned which was apparent to me was that when we hit the lead in the last quarter, the players seemed to actually lift another notch. We scored 5 goals but bar a couple of minor skill errors we would have had a few more. Kent missed Petracca 30m in the clear when he went long to Garlett and VDB's handball in the middle missed I think Brayshaw, who would have run inside 50 and had a shot. In the past we wouldn't have pushed on once a couple of goals ahead. There was a hunger for more goals. So exciting.
  2. IF We beat Port - 50:50 Hawks beat North - likely Swans beat Saints - likely We are the only team with a chance of taking North's position in the 8. i believe North's percentage will take a hammering against Adelaide and GWS. i believe it will come down to the our last game v Geelong. We are currently paying $101 to make the 8. I may have had a little go at it. Go Dees.
  3. How far behind Django? With 3 games to go is he a chance?
  4. Hoskin Elliot would be a great pick up IMO. But he will be worth more to GWS than we can afford trade wise.
  5. Who do you think we should avoid this year TGR? I'm expecting the Tigers, Pies and Dockers to be looking to off-load a few.
  6. The goal highlights are amazing. But from an emotional high, I think the last 10 minutes in it's entirety are better. Some of the pressure and tackling that we put on the Hawks was immense, together with Maxy's big marks it was the best 10 minutes of football in years.
  7. I wish Max had've gone for a huge torp with that last kick and drilled it way into the stand. That would have been the cherry on an amazing win. Can't have everything.
  8. I. Smith - Average metres gained 459m for comparison
  9. Thought he might have been a chance to be picked up by an AFL side. I assume there'd be a clause in his contract.
  10. 6 months from now is January, which is before the start of next year. It's not hard to picture Jesse saying to his manager I want it sorted out before the start of next season. Hence the 6 months.
  11. Better or worse than Harmes and/or Wagner? I know who I'd prefer.
  12. I'd be tempted to throw Oliver into the half-back line. He is competitive, aggressive, strong, good overhead, quick, makes good decisions and has good disposal. He is too good for the VFL and seemingly can't force his way into the midfield. He'd do a better job than Wagner and Harmes in that role.
  13. He's one of only maybe half a dozen players I have confidence with, when he has the ball a Melbourne player will be the next to receive it. Watts, Petracca, Bernie (last week excluded) Salem, Jetta the others.
  14. I just responded as such in another thread. They are dreaming. I'd be calling for Mahoney's head on a plate if they made that trade.
  15. There is no way he is worth a first round pick in any year. Let alone a gamble pick based on where we finish at the end of next year. What happens if we lose 3-4 critical players for half a season next year and finish bottom 4. Hibberd for pick 4. That's fanciful. Even if we manage to finish top 8 he isn't worth a pick around 10-12. If Josh Mahoney agrees to that he should be marched out of the club. He is a second round pick at best. This year it will be low 20's which I still think is too high. He is a one-sided half back with good (not amazing) skills that hasn't played a game in 12 months. Who knows what condition he will come back in? Anything better than around pick 25 is too much, he can stay at Essendon. He is a slightly better player than Melksham and it was widely agreed that we paid 'overs' for him. If that's the case we can pay unders for Hibberd.
  16. I watched the 2nd quarter on the Demon website and Oliver was very impressive. I'd have him back in the side in a heartbeat.
  17. To think about how far we have come and what a great job Roos, Macca, Viney and Mahoney have done. Look at that list above and then think about what must have been playing in the VFL. One shudders.
  18. Looking at the games I think it might have been R2 2014 v West Coast. The 6 Players: Jones N Jones M McDonald T Tyson Vince Watts Those still on the list but didn't play: Kennedy Harris Dunn Grimes Michie Pederson Spencer Terlich Trengove Those Gone: Byrnes Toumpas Howe Cross Bail Fitzy Frawley Georgiou
  19. Another 18 months and he'll be a regular IMO. From an athletic perspective he has all the attributes, speed, endurance, height and huge leap. His skill level is good considering he only returned to footy recently. It's just a coaching development thing. I have faith in the guys developing our talent. He will make it.
  20. Watching his press conference on afl.com.au. I get the impression that he doesn't think he'll be a Demon next year.
  21. I think we can get them next time we play.
