Money wise yes I see it. But Sydney and GC will want quality players or 1st round picks. 33 doesn't make a huge difference.

What draft pick would Mitchell be worth? He's only got 1 year left. I can't see how it's going to dramatically improve their draft position to get Tom Mitchell and O'Meara.

Mayne is 3 years older than Melksham.

Thanks Moonshadow, in that case i think he should be upgraded to the primary list. I reckon he will play games for the Dees next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Joel Smith is upgraded to a normal rookie, provided this is possible, I don't know the intricate rules of such things.

I think we'd hope to take 19-20 into this years draft and trade 2nd Round next year to Bombers for Hibberd. It's a gamble for both sides. If we go very well next year it's a pick 30+. If we have a few injuries to critical players it's probably an upgrade for the Bombers on pick 28 this year. Hibberd is not worth a top 20 pick.

Brisbane have picks 19 and 21. Gold Coast have picks 22, 23 and 25. i wouldn't be surprised if we are eying off either 19 or 21 for Dunn and Pick 28. We get an upgrade and they get Dunn.

They should knock it down and build an iconic building like the opera house or the Guggenheim in Bilbao.

With Hibberd and Melksham coming in to play HB I wouldn't mind betting Hunt, Salem, Harmes, Stretch will be looked at for outside run. All good options IMO

You may be right Wrecker. I just remember watching him run forward with the ball a heap of times and not even seeing players in the F50 with a heap of space.

He is a good player, he could be a great player if he had better vision and decision making skills in and around the F50.

He makes very few mistakes. Never drops marks, hits targets and runs all day. He will be a beauty.

Josh Mahoney mentioned on one of the radio stations this morning that they had now re-signed everyone the club had aimed to sign this year. He said the first priorities for early next year were Christian Salem and Sam Weideman. It didn't sound like Christian was in any trading plans.

This makes me incredibly conflicted and uncomfortable.

Hodge, Lewis, Mitchell, Burgoyne, Roughead are all 1 in 10-15 year players. They can't replace that quality with Tom Mitchell, an injury prone O'Meara and Vickery and expect the dynasty to continue.

They will make the 8 next year but their era of dominance is over. They won't contend for the flag next year.

I've been saying it to my Hawks supporters to stir them up. I posted that before the game. He hasn't been their worst. But my point is if he is getting a game, the squad isn't very strong.

I stand by my theory that no team will win a final with Jack Fitzpatrick playing.
