I wonder if Wattsy got on the [censored] when he came back from the Qld Camp. He was very poor at the intraclub. Maybe he was hungover or still feeling the effects. That would be punishable, and could explain the poor performance. From reports I got the impression that he had had a solid preseason up till then.

I think VDB will play Casey from mid season onwards. Other players will go past him IMO, if they haven't already. He is a good mark and a pretty reliable kick for goal. He provides good defensive pressure. But his skills and decision making are average to poor IMO. As a half forward he is good at the finishing part, not good in the set-up part.

Based on the MFC Tweet - Joel Smith will make his MFC debut. Interesting seeing that he missed the Intraclub last Friday. I'm to see how he goes as I have high hopes for him.

Get the umpire to throw it up as soon as he gets the ball. Don't spend 15 seconds allowing both teams to get into their setups.

I'm hoping to head along after work. Looking forward to it.

DeeSpencer I'm a huge fan of Smith having watching him a number of times at Casey. I don't think he will be at Round 1 but by the end of the year I think you will be right.

We benefit from this rule change. We suffered from the rule change that limited the run up in the ruck, that one reduced Jeff White's effectiveness. I feel for the list managers who are trying to put together a premiership list and the AFL make a rule which instantly changes the effectiveness of a "type" of player.

Why wouldn't they have it the following week. I would love to take my kids but that day is their last day of school for them. I'm assuming many others would be in a similar boat.

As far as I know he can play wherever he wants after his under 18 year if not drafted to an AFL club.
