  1. Im stunned people can give Magner votes!! he had 3 touches to half time.... i know he was doing a shut down role but you still need to win the footy yourself and Boyd still had an impact with 19 touches 7 tackles Not giving votes but I was very happy to see Morton and Davey, both much maligned players show some really positive signs. Lets hope they continue on this path .
  2. Wow Dr Who you come across as a real [censored]. People like you ruin this forum
  3. Well currently all 3 of our rookies are small mids so wouldnt be surprised to see 2 out of our 4 picks be talls.
  4. Warms my heart seeing Essendon listed as sliding down the ladder...hope your right Big Jim !
  5. All the blease and Gysberts whingers need to take a breather and be realistic. It takes several pre seasons for midfielders to build elite tanks. Blease has never done a full pre season and with regards to his endurance and repeat efforts, will still be a long way behind by having done very little his first 2 years. In reality, it is probably his first genuine pre season....add to that it is November!! What do people expect? Both he and Gys are young and with 2 or 3 pre seasons over next few years we will see them hopefully compete with the competitions elite midfielders. However give them time for gods sake. Gys has also had his share of injuries and has a very young thin body, has had back issues.... you can not expect elite endurance to just appear. It has to be worked at over a long time. As someone said earlier, the good thing is they are out doing all this running in Nov! Bring on March.
  6. Funny because when I spoke to him he told me he got knocked out in a mid air contest and did his shoulder then fell awkwardly and did his knee. Reconstructions required on both. Recovery took much longer as they were on the same side and he could not have knee fixed until weeks after shoulder as he could not use crutches. Anyway maybe he got confused about his own injuries and you are right?
  7. He didnt re break it, he did his ACL and Shoulder in the one incident. Was not doing much up until then, writing was on the wall that was a terrible pick
  8. Does anyone know what the injuries are to guys in Rehab? In particular, Lucas Cook, Tappscot, Jetta?

    Best 22

I would definitely have Gysberts in our best 22 when fit ! He would be ahead of Morton and Bartram in the above teams.
  10. Well this trade was no different to brock mclean trade. We traded mclean for pick 12 and Johnstone for pick 16.
  11. I think the trade of Travis Johnstone which brought us Jack Grimes was pretty good......
  12. Pretty sure North traded Bell to Fremantle after winning B&F....although he asked to leave I believe
  13. There is no such thing as "untouchables" Everyone becomes available if the deal is right. If GWS offered pick 1 in the mini draft for Howe or Jamar we would take it in a heartbeat. There are people who are highly unlikely to be traded but no one is untouchable.
  14. You saying the game is televised somewhere? I have had a look and cant find it. Can anyone let me know if it is on
  15. Apparently has said he wants a return to Victoria and is out of contract.
  16. This may have been covered somewhere but I cant see it. What are the rules in relation to what pick we must use for Viney in 2012? For example if we trade away our first round draft picks for players then are we able to snare him with our 2nd round draft pick? Or if he is nominated by other clubs as a first rounder and we trade that pick does that mean we would no longer be allowed to get him? I am also thinking if Scully does leave and we get extra draft picks that would most likely be held to next year what impact this would have.
  17. I agree, what a sad pathetic post that was
  18. That you find it shock that a player carrying an injury could pull up sore after a round 23 game sums up your understanding of the situation and the AFL environment. So I will not bother getting into a discussion with you. Cant wait to read your posts if he stays... My prediction. " I knew he would stay, i heard it through his brothers girlfriends sisters aunty who had her hair cut by the sister of Toms dentist and they gave me the inside word."
  19. The guy has been playing hurt all season, it is hardly a shock that he is pulling out of a game with soreness! Yet you are all ready to hang him? With supporters like these its hard to see him wanting to stay. I still believe he will stay and always have. But until he says he is leaving I will support him 100%
  20. Give him number 6. Should be available. Coz if he is half of what Todd what I will be happy !
  21. I find it interesting that I am the only one voting for a quick running defender... I feel with serious long term injuries to Strauss & Grimes, we need a little more depth in this area. Blease has come on. But if Tappscott is to be played midfield/forward as planned, our depth in small running defenders is pretty slim if Grimes or Strauss were to have further injuries concerns. Dan Nicholson, Blease and Bail are options but I think we need more depth as this is clearly one of the most important roles in modern footy. Davey will probably be on the way out in a year or two and Benell hasnt come along as hoped.... I feel with Fitzpatrick and Cook, combined with Watts we are going to be ok for big forwards. Having said that id still love to snare Butcher! Inside mids we could use although we do have Viney on the way. Still another quality running wing/defender in the mould of a grimes would be great.
  22. I believe the number 17 was warehoused because both Strauss and Blease wanted it so to decide who got it they would wait let them earn it. Both deserve low numbers next year I saw. I would say give Strauss the number 17 and let him use it as motivation to help push through the long recovery period.
  23. I think there is no doubt the end is near for Bartram. He just has not been able to improve this area of his game. He would not be playing today had it not been for injuries to Strauss, Grimes, Bail. They all are ahead of him when fit so coaches seem to agree that end is close for Bartram. Sad that he could never get this part of his game up to scratch. Next year with him gone you would expect Grimes, Bail, Blease, Bennell, Nicholson all to be looking at playing that small dashing defender role. Strauss to slot back in 2013 too. On the plus side Blease's kicking today was fantastic, slot him in with Tappscott and davey and it is error by foot in backline will drop!
