Agreed, its actually a very good topic and the prospect of trading for another first round pick will most certainly be discussed amongst the football department so why is it so silly that we discuss it? I agree some of the suggestions made are highly unrealistic but thats not the threads fault, this is a public msg board and by its nature it is here to allow people to discuss MFC football topics. People who bag threads for even being opened in the first place jsut because they dont agree with it make them look very silly.

I would guess its Jack Viney as he seems to be a better prospect than Grinter who havnt heard much about....

The best bit is, after a loss this weekend we can pretty much breath a lot easier about the chances of priority pick, i for one have found this an extremely stressful time as a dees supporter and cant wait for r22 to be over!!

I think it would be silly to start a trade/draft board before the end of round 22. Lets hold out untill then and then we can all turn our attention to what will hopefully be much more exciting times! Too early now. Lets get through the last 4 rounds and save the draft/trade board for when footy is over and we are looking for stuff to talk about!

Dunn is rubbish. Still has never had a really good game. He is just in our 22 now when we are tanking but come next year, as soon as we have a healthy list and a few more young talented players he wont be a starting 22 player. Just not good enough unfortunately, Shame we wasted such a high pick on him.

agreed! i just want the two picks, dont care if its 1 & 2 or 1 & 3 just so long as we get Scully and another top midfield prospect.

good to see the roos have an extra 2 days to recover/prepare for this game have played friday night. Should help them. Still a real danger game, despite being competitive they havnt won for a long while....

McKenzie should come back in if fit. Good replacement for Benell, Sylvia has to come in too. Out Newton or PJ?

I think you will find IF we can recruit two gun midfielders and they turn out to be the skilful A grade mids we are hoping, they will make the likes of McLean and Jones much better players as they will be more free to play their role. If Scully and Trengrove come into our midfield, as well as Sylvias continued development, this will free up Jones to be a clearance player who gets it out to these more skillful players and he wont be relied on so heavily to be the one delivering the ball into 50 ect. In addition he wont be getting tagged when we have these more dominant players. Also he will have the opportunity to play as a defensive midfielder, with Scully and Trengrove to be the skillful attacking players, Jones can replace a bartam/Dunn player and be the runwith player only he will be a lot more damaging than dunn or bartram. All of a sudden our midfield starts to look a lot better!

That was the most enjoyable 2 months of the season...

Thought the kid played really well for his first game. We may have found a bit of a steal with getting him in the rookie draft. Long way to go yet, but seemed to make good decisions, has a nice long kick on him too that hit the target most times. Hopefully he can play out the year and continue his development. Could turn out to be a great recruiting year for the club when you add Jurrah and McKenzie to the guys we took in the National draft...

What a silly post. For starters to suggest that daniel rich is the only certain elite mid to come out of the draft in the last three years is absolutely idiotic. You have said Zeible and Palmer are not elite players is ridiculous. They have played one season of footy each and both have showed exceptional talent. How can you judge them so early and say they wont develop into elite players??? Getting back to no elite midfielders in the last three years? I struggled to understand what a stupid statement that is. How can you justify saying Bryce Gibbs wont become an elite midfielder? Trent Cotchin?? Joel Selwood? Stephen Hill looks to have superstar written all over him. Do you actually know any of these players or do you just think that because they are not being talked about for All Australian yet that they will never make it?? Really does prove your lack of any understanding on what your talking about. Butcher to be taken and used as trade bait is almost as dumb? why would you draft someone as trade bait? If hes that valuable then why trade him? keep him? This is my vote for worst thread of the year! (Yze Magic excluded)

Good result really, in our top 3 most valuable players, early end to season is good to rest up for next year when we begin our charge up the ladder!! Hopefully Brock is put on ice too

good to see Mcnamara, Spencer and Buckley named in the Casey twos. Hopefully they can all break into the Melbourne seniors before the season is out. I would especially like to see McNamara get a game or 2 at the end of the year if he is up to it.

The fact that is body is already partially developed....as i said he is a mature age recruit, hence is age is the reason why his body is more developed than the kids..... and it was Dean Baily that said he was most likely to play the most this year out of our 1st year players, he said because of his senior experience.... check your facts..

Bail is a mature age recruit (21?22?) who was recruited out of QAFL so he should be a lot more developed than the other draftees. Everyone remember Baily saying he was the most likely recruit to debut this year due to his age and senior experience? But it is round 15 and he is named in the Casey reserves. I would say he will be delisted this year as he clearly hasnt shown enough and its not like he is an 18 year old.

Bring Bell in to play his roll. was best on for casey and prefer him over Dunn. My mind is made up on Dunn and he is never going to be a good player.
