  1. Thanks for that..... i knew i was wrong just couldnt be bothered looking it up.... im glad the spelling and gramma police are right on the job though!
  2. Any news on how Wona is going? Im really hoping he is going to have a great pre season and get himself back to where he was. Could be a great recruit for us really. Any news from training as to how he is going? Would love an update on his injury state. As well as Blease?
  3. That is an outrageous quote. Reiwoldt is a superstar of the highest order. If he is anywhere near as good it will be great for us! And its too early to be saying you would take him over the likes of Hodge Cooney ect.
  4. I am very surprised Melbourne are going down this path! Excited too. Ball at 18 would be great having said that, it sounds like the quality at pick 11 compared with 18 is no real difference so that might explain them taking him so high. I also cant help but think this is a ploy to entice Essendon or Port Adelaide to take him at 9 or 10 and thus increase our chances of Butcher (or whoever else we have our eyes on) slipping to 11 which is a great move. Would love one of them to take him early and a Butcher or Lucas slip to us. Having said that, CC is very much spot on when he says Ball would be a great influence on he development of Trengrove, Scully, Blease and co. With the exception of J MCD who is in his last year, Moloney is really our only strong leader int he midfield. Sylvia is not there yet and may not ever be, Jones is still young and inexperienced. So Ball would be great a helping develop our young talent, particularly mentally. Nov 26 is going to be VERY VERY interesting to watch!
  5. I tend not to worry about it. Our recruitment staff will have the order of players they want at each pick, if he is best available im sure we will take him, but if someone they prefer more is still on the board then they wont. They know more than us so i wont bother speculating.
  6. You still havnt answered the question, "I don't want anyone bagging this club as unprofessional, particularly if their own conduct is, objectively, a mile off the pace". And are you saying Ball called us unprofessional? If so when and where did he say this? I think you are talking around an answer because you have none that makes any sense. Ball has never called us unprofessional or bagged our club as you have made up. All he has done, which we all agree with, is indicate he does not want to play for us next season. We agree on that 100%. But i just can not understand why you think he is obligated to publicly come out and pretend to be interested in our club? His manager has been in discussions in with the club and no doubt clearly indicated where Ball stands, their by addressing our interest. I don't know what more you expect from him? To make a press statement thanking us for our interest but kindly declining it so that our upset supporters can have some closure? "From media reports, Ball appears to have largely disregarded this gesture of good faith by the club." What media reports indicate anything more than Ball, through his management have told Melbourne "thanks but i do not want to play for your club" ?? Your clutching at straws here... Seeing as your ducking my other question il ask one final simple question.... If ball does not want to come to our club, which is entirely his decision and he has no obligation to want to play for us......what would you have wanted him to do or say that would have made him seem less immature and unprofessional as you have described him?? Simple question.... answer??
  7. Ha ha and i rest my case. Thats all you can say? Clearly you are embarassed and are now aware of what rubbish you were writing. But can you answer my question please...if you have one.. "I don't want anyone bagging this club as unprofessional, particularly if their own conduct is, objectively, a mile off the pace". And are you saying Ball called us unprofessional? If so when and where did he say this?
  8. Ha ha this is funny. All those facts you have listed are obvious. We all know he has left saints and entered the draft ect. BUT What we do NOT know, what i was alluding to in my previous post which you are struggling to wrap your head around is that we do not know his reasons for leaving the saints, we do not know why he does not want to come to Melbourne and we do not know what factors had the greatest influenced in his decision. You just stating the outcome and implying you know the reasons why he made the decisions he has made. The real funny part though, is that you say his "conduct" has shown that he is not a "leader, professional or a fine young man". This conduct you talk about and have listed above involves wanting to leave the saints and join another club, and no wanting to play for us. He has no obligation to play for us or to talk to us just because we have the top pick. To think that way is very naive. He has no obligation to engage with the MFC, you just wanted him to because you thought he would be a great recruit. Does the fact that it appears Bradshaw and McPhee have not talked to us mean they are not professional or fine men? No because you talk to the clubs you want to play for. Its pretty simple and logical. For whatever reasons he does not want to play for us. By your own admission Ross Lyon has a few questions to answer for his role in this. We do not know what happened with him and Ball last year and most people were stunned when ball was dropped so its impossible to judge him for leaving the saints without knowing the facts surrounding his fall in the pecking order from there. And to think he has had no contact with us and snubbed us is again foolish. He has hired management which are paid to do this very job. And in doing this job his manager has had many discussions with Melbourne as indicated by Baily in discussing his dealings with Balls manager. So i really don't understand how you can say his behaviour has show his lack of leadership and professionalism. "I don't want anyone bagging this club as unprofessional, particularly if their own conduct is, objectively, a mile off the pace". And are you saying Ball called us unprofessional? If so when and where did he say this? I am glad people are agreeing with me and ignoring your senseless posts. So keep talking your nonsense, with my head in the sand i can't hear you anyway!
  9. Still seems to be a boy? What basis are you making these judgments? Having spoken very very little in the media about this, no one really knows what has gone on in Balls decision making process. We are just guessing from the end result. As someone who knows Ball i can assure you he is an extremely mature and professional person, in general let alone for his age. Let's talk about professionalism in the business world that you seem to know about. Is judging a person or a situation, with no knowledge of the facts or the people involved, and making negative statements about someone in a public environment professional? No, it just shows your lack of professionalism in that you have let your support the dees and your feelings of being let down by not getting Ball cloud making a rational evaluation of events. Back to the drawing board mate, you have no idea...
  10. Would love the draft to end up with Scully and Trengrove at 1 and 2, Carlise or best available KPP at 11, Troy Taylor at 18, Liam Patrick at 34, Dylan Grimes at 50 Would love that draft! Could even another mid at 11 seeing as last 3 are all talls, two tall forwards and a key backin grimes. Good mix i say!

  12. Eddie is just being Eddie. Luke Ball is a smart guy. He wouldnt just enter the draft with no guarantees. Whether thats from the Pies, Essendon or Brisbane, im sure he has a very good idea of where he is going to end up. His management would have spoken in depth with all clubs. I think Essendon is the dark horse here.
  13. Excuse my ignorance as i am on Holiday in the states, but who is this Patrick everyone is referring to?
  14. Well someone has to go because at the moment we only have 5 places available which leaves us with 1,2,11,18 and either 34 or pick 1 in the PSD. Id be dissapointed if we wasted either of them yet kept Bartram.

  16. i think when people are coming to the game just to watch him play on a regular basis then he is a star!
  17. change to number 1 for me. High number like 48 gives the image of a unproven young player (which he is i might add) but you dont want that number your whole career. As for the jumper purchased and sent to Yuendumu, if Jurrah has a long and colorful career in number 1 that #48 jersey will become all the more special and valuable as it will signify the long jersey he took to get to the AFL and the time he came on the scene from no where!
  18. I look forward to when Watts hits the 95kg mark and has 40 games under his belt!
  19. I dont usually play the "i told you so" card, but after suggesting earlier in the year that we trade McLean for a first round pick i was abused and insulted and ridiculed for even suggesting it. I am glad now that my way of thinking has been mirrored by the MFC FD and the majority of Demonlanders have been exposed again.
  20. Well said!! Very true words about this forum!

He has had half of one good season in the last 3 years.... this year and last were nothing seasons for him and the year before he put in half a good year....

I suggested this early in the season and was ridiculed because 90% of people on here got offended that we could even contemplate trading him. Most people wont agree because they are all very blinded and one eyed but it is a very good suggestion.

its amazing how agile and athletic he was before the knees. Scary to think what he could have been!
  24. Scotty Thompson went home to be closer to his sick brother. This was a rare situation and doesnt really relate to drafting Trengrove. Not many good players go home because of homesickness...and anyway im sure things like this will be sussed out during pre draft interviews. MFC will make the right decision.
