  1. Oi i stack shelves at coles at the moment!! hahaha
  2. It will be interesting (and important for our future success) to see which of the current listed players take a big step up next season a la Grimes and frawley this year
  3. By saying they will choose the best available it means they will take a less talented player above the best available because we need to fill a void....its like the football department say the coach has their full support....you just know hes going to be fired the next day....
  4. stupid thread while we are at it, kruzer and Judd must be out of contract soon we will have them too please!
  5. The more i think about it the more i think we will take Scully and trengrove. I think Baily still has questions marks over Jones having dropped him in the past, and we need more midfield class. I think Bailey has mentioned during interviews that he sees Morton as being capable of playing a key forward position further down the line and has said simmilar things about Garland. I think with those two options plus Martin, one of them should develop into a solid key forward and as long as Jurrah and Watts continue to develop as expected we will be pretty set for talls with Bate thrown in there. I think that is where the coaching staff are looking for their next KPF. As such i think we will take scully and trengrove with per haps best available KF at pick 18. Just my view.
  6. not true, he has no idea about football and if he was a decent player he would. just a tool with no life, i wouldnt give it any more thought.
  7. You are over exaggerating here.... the draft is compromised by GC having access to 12 bottom age players. So even if they take all 12 from that age group it still on dilutes the draft by 12 players...so at worst pick 50 would be the equivalent to pick 62.
  8. There will be plenty of time for him to kick big bags with Scully and Trengrove delivering it to him for the next decade!
  9. farwell game for Bartram? Valenti dropped again possibly spells the end for him. Thought mckenzie was going to miss with injury? obviously his surgery will be put off till next week! Good
  10. What about trading Warnock to Carlton for as high a draft pick as we can get. They desperately need another key position player down back and we have a bit of a surplus down there at the moment. Part with Warnock and we can send Martin back to replace him. Carlton get a vital ingredient that they have been missing, who is in his prime and will join his brother and we get another young bloke into the team. there first pick will be around 11 or so? Through in Robertson who could become an important second option behind Fev and we could almost sneak their first pick off them!?? I think the only area of our list where we have too many talented players is the Key Backs and they are hard to find so we may be able to use them to improve our overall list. thoughts?
  11. Going into the draft all clubs list their order of best available players, who they THINK are the best available players. I do not think molan was listed as the 9th best player in his draft but i believe they took him ahead of others because he filled a need. What i am saying is i hope they do not do the same thing in this draft as i am hoping we have learnt our lesson that you need to take the best available player regardless of position. Especially when you are rebuilding a list like us.
  12. I just think they have copped a lot of criticism from their supporters for taking a talented flashy aboriginal player over more proven players such as Rich and i cant seem them doing this again. Time will tell who is right....
  13. I doubt Carlton will look at Jetta, they have Yarran still as a high pick from last year and i doubt think they will take that risk again!
  14. Surely we have learnt our lesson with picking for positions (Luke Molan??). With high draft picks you pick the best available!!!! Scully and Trengrove for me! Can never have to many gun mids! And we dont really have any at the moment!
  15. Get over it, hes just saying hes hoping Newton gets delisted which i would say a lot of us are because we are sick of him taking up a spot on the list and being such a bad player. Is a public forum dude he is not insulting the player or anyone else so stop being so sensitive about it! And i highly doubt players read this forum, a lot of papers dont even read newspapers let alone fan forums. Im sure they have more to do with their time!
  16. Just think, McMahon misses that shot on goal and wed be 15th and richmond last. Wed be in line for pick 2 only and Scully would be off to the Tigers! Thank you Jordie McMahon!!
  17. I would think there are two reasons J Mac was kept over Robbo. 1 He is the captain and obviously a much better role model on and off field for our young list. 2 (and probably most important) He is versatile and can play a number of roles and as such can simply be part of the rotations. Robbo on the other hand can only play as a key forward target. By keeping robbo it takes up a valuable place as a key target in the forward line that one of Jurrah Watts garland or Martin will now be able to play. I think bailey would rather give the young guys a go at gaining experience down forward. J Mac on the other hand can slip into either midfield rotations, run with roles, backline or wherever there is a need for some experience and not get in the way of any younger players development.
  18. It would be the end of Bartram because he has show again consistantly this year that he is not up to AFL football and has failed to improve in any way since his debut. He has been dropped several times this season which indicates the coaching staff have also lost patience with him. There are far more talented people coming through to play midfield, and he is out of contract at the end of the season. What more do you need?
  19. well as i already stated in the previous changes thread before this one was started, this must surely be the end of Bartram now. Good changes overall. Looking forward to seeing McKenzie
  20. BY the way, surely Bartram getting dropped again signifies the end of his career?
  21. very happy with this team. Good ins and outs. Melbourne Team Backs: Whelan, Frawley, Morton Half backs: Cheney, Rivers, McNamara Centreline: Sylvia, Moloney, Davey Half forwards: Jones, Robertson, Jurrah Forwards: Johnson, Martin, McLean Followers: Spencer, Jetta, Bate I/C From: Petterd, McDonald, McKenzie, Valenti Emg: Bartram, Bennell, Jamar
  22. Id like to see more of McKenzie. He looked pretty good in his one game. Bartram and Jetta to go out.
  23. jsut announced on footy show all retiring although Robbo is keeping options open....
  24. I sincerely hope we have learnt our lesson about drafting talls high up the draft because of a need. We took Luke Molan at pick 9 or so when he wasnt rated that high because he was thought to be the best tall left and look how that ended up. BEST AVAILABLE PLAYER!!!! It is that simple...
  25. they were all late picks so he cant be blamed for that. Newton was late 40s i think, Bartram pick 60? Weetra pick 70 something and Bode rookie list. I dont think these were mistakes, all went on to play seniors at some stage. Most late picks dont work out.
