WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Nah, he would be good but that question mark about his kicking ability, we need players that can hit targets forward of centre. Don't get me wrong I thing he can come to our club and improve us but if he decides to go elsewhere so be it, going to the draft with pick 20-22 isn't a bad option

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Gawn, May, Lever, Oliver I will give you the rest are hit and miss, Jetta's body is letting him down, Petracca, Melksham, Brayshaw, Harmes play well on their terms, Salem shows glimpses, T Mac two good seasons one down back one up forward, that is all we have seen from him. If as you would expect Petrucelle improves he could very easy be amongst that list, he is the exact type of player that we need, even try to add in Brander from West Coast as well

Also getting 32 back, the guy would walk into our starting 18 and be in our best 6-10 players in 2020

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Need to be a little bold and ruthless pick 2 to GWS for 11 and 13, might cost a bit more with later picks Pick 13&56 to WCE for Petruccelle and pick 32 , give eagles 2 first round picks for Kelly Brayshaw pick 20 and 32 to Fremantle for Langdon and pick 6 Leaving us 6, 11, 38 in the draft, hopefully Young or Ash will be there at pick 6. O Mac to go not worth much a pick in the 40s which will go to GWS. We can cover losing Brayshaw and we get that exciting outside speed that we need

Damien Barrett's scathing assessment of the MFC
52,000 members, up nearly 6000 mich would be 1.5mil additition revenue. I'm all for selling off the Pokie venues as long as we have a business plan to replace the revenue we generate from these venues. You take that out and it is a fair whack. Players wanting out lets start with O McDonald he will definitely want out he is behind May, Lever, Frost and Hore, add in Stretch and JKH blokes that think they deserved more opportunity, even Hunt, you will always have players that may be considered fringe best 22 looking to get out. Brayshaw is one that I don't know what went on with him in 2019. Was out on the wing a lot , last few games down back to get a touch and I rate him as our best center clearance player. No question the club has a massive 12 months facing them, we know Peter Jackson wasn't happy in the why the board appointed Pert, we haven't really seen our heard from Pert at all this season. The Footy manager was dead keen on the CEO role, that is going to cause friction. One thing is for sure we just can't get it wrong again.

Damien Barrett's scathing assessment of the MFC
You will find this is more about the financial position of the club rather that a playing perspective.

Kamdyn McIntosh
Is he better than what we have in Stretch, ANB, Kennedy Harris, Spargo and the others that sit on the fringe? With all players we bring up the first question needs to be will they make our best 22 and then will they make us a better team. The next question is what will it cost us and is that something we are willing to part with. No more depth players, we want players that will be in our best 22 or banging on the door to be in our best 22.

We'll Have To Keep Garlett
I actually thought Chandler was Ok v Sydney, he is the only small forward this year that actually laid inside 50m tackles. The rest, Lockhart needs to be moved to back pocket, back up/replacement for Nev Jetta. Spargo, small and slow, if you are small you need to be quick and hard as nails, ANB isn't a forward you would hate being a forward with him kicking the ball to you.

HATCH MATCH & DESPATCH 2019
Interesting couple of weeks coming up, we need to make space for at least 5 new players, Lewis is No 1, at least 4 to go looking at senior list Billy Stretch, Garlett, Josh Wagner, ANB and then we need to sign Frost and off load OMcDonald.

Lewis Whacks Playing Group
I remember back in the Dean Bailey years, most likely his last preseason as Melbourne coach. The season before we improved a lot, still one of the best wins of that era V Sydney at the MCG, most picked Melbourne to move into the top 8, then pre-season rumours, players refused to do a time Trial at Casey because it was to hot, players started controlling more on what they did, the coaches wanted to be the players buddy. Fast forward to this year, reminds me of the same. Interesting 2018 pre-season story was all about Max Gawn and Clayton Oliver the mountain of work the did in the break to change body shape, 12 months later all we heard was injury and recovery. Funny thing is two outside mids that can kick the Footy and a fit list, it can change back real quick. It is 1999 all over again, 98' Prelim, 99 shocking year, 2000 GF

CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Kangaroos

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Because May was our No 1 target. It might take a swap of First round picks and our second pick for Freo's third round and Langdon. I'd

Jack Viney
He needs to play, he isn't injured He was injured all pre-season, not around, I'm sure he was doing his rehab program Was he being selfish or the club mis-managing him, the club has a pretty poor record on re-occuring foot injuries with some players The club has serious issues that unfortunately is in the culture of the club, no matter what coach or captain we have the club has a losing culture for half a century. We are a mile off a premiership just have the to many poorly skilled by hand and foot players. It will take a long time to get the required players to improve our list.

Common sense, the bloke hasn't done a pre-season in 2 years, has had long spells off legs. Most injuries you can get moving on your feet pretty quickly, even knee reco your up walking straight away. The injury this guy had he basically meant long periods of moon boots limited walking let alone running. He is a mile behind the competition fitness wise. The issue the club faces is managing him over the next 6 months, he will want to be on the track all day everyday to get to the level needed, his work loads will need to be monitored closely to minimise the risk of another foot injury, my opinion any more stress related fractures in his feet would almost certainly end his career.
-
Where is the Frost apology?
Yep, the club needs to re-sign him and try to off load O McDonald

Injury List - Season 2019
Pretty good forward line out for the season injured J Smith McDonald Garlett Hannan Weiderman AVB With Tim Smith on the bench Really disappointed for J Smith, he looked good in pre-season, what a massive mistake putting him back on at Casey fields back in March,.

Roos: Lazy Dees
Interesting with the start of the vision, to me both clubs players were cheating, in that both Melbourne and Collingwood players were on the attacking side of the contest. Melbourne had 1 player set in a defensive position and I think the pies had 2. Both clubs had 4-6 players on the attacking side. Basically whoever won the ball at the contest was going to transition into their attack very quickly and whoever lost the contest Melbourne was going to be severely exposed. The fact we didn't work hard enough from the contest is a secondary point. I have seen this all year we have players one the forward side of the contest and very few on the defensive side. Week before there was a ball up in our back pocket, easy tap not one Melbourne player between to contest and the Goal line, open goal resulted. To me we are trying to play the old Richmond and Bulldogs style of just move the ball forward at all cost, that explains why players more players are forward of the ball. Issue is we turn it over we have no mids in defensive positions. This footage showed by Roo's the players positions for Melb need to be switched 1-2 players forward of the ball and the rest setting up in defensive positions. Win the ball then work hard to be a option. Pretty simple U12 stuff
-
Its the captain stupid
When you turn the footy over like we do making basic skill execution errors you will not win games of Football, no leader in the history of the game would improve our results from this year, we just give the Footy away
-
Its the captain stupid
Need to stop blaming individuals, the bottom line is our team just doesn't have the foot skills required to win games. We can win the football just can't keep it. This goes to the type of player we drafted and traded for over the past 5 years. Funny, Paul Roos and the Eagles evolved the game back to an ultra defence contested ball game 10 years back, the Eagles have added the element of highly skilled kicking and possession footy, Clarkson saw this coming mid last year changed his game style, we didn't and this year is the end result. It is a skill issue, not leadership

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Ben Brown is a hit up leading forward, doesn't take big contested marks, he needs to ball to hit him on a lead. We can't hit the side of a barn going into our forward 50m. Skill and speed that is the only type of player we should be looking at. If you can't keep the Footy no point having big hit up forwards
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Yep, lets get another key forward that our mids who can't kick can miss. Speed and skill to replace our fleet of slow and unskilled both in the mids and small/mid size forwards

Roosy: "Deplorable" Dees have "no recognisable brand"
You can't defend when you turn the footy over the way we do. That is the bottom line, we work so hard to win the ball just to turn it over
