  1. No idea what happened at qtr time, we went from play on take risk team to slow ball movement down the line. We played the last 3 qtrs trying not to lose by 10 goals, we gave ourselves no chance of winning. Our forwards pushed that high into defense leaving 6 Richmond defenders accross the middle of the ground free picking of any ball we cleared

The issue we face is we drafted players for the now that includes players to fill holes in our list and players that fit our game style. Unfortunately the game style we are playing is outdated and all of the sudden we are left with a number of players especially through the middle that aren't quick, aren't clean by foot and at the moment getting beaten on the inside and outside. I look at our team, if I'm an opposition coach the only player on our list that you don't want delivering the ball inside our 50m arc is Salem, he is the only elite kick on our list, Jetta is a good kick as he knows his limitations and is smart, the rest have no kicking consistency what so even. The 2019 game is about keeping to football and making the ground big for defenders by 35m kick changing direction and running hard to the fat side, we don't have the leg speed or kicking ability to play this way. We will go Ok this weekend on the small SCG the only issues we face is Buddy, no one that will play this week can stop him, we need him to have an extremely bad day
  3. I reckon the 6/6/6 factor has completely stuffed us up. I reckon the game plan was based around Max Gawn domination of the middle and creating the pressure from the centre bounce. It seems we are lost if we don't win the center clearance and out side that small part of the game we are disorganised. It is worrying, we have no chance making the top 8. Lucky we didn't sell our future pick
  4. It isn't rocket science but we didn't see the game change coming which is a concern. We are setting up like we are flying, defenders to high up the ground, issue with that is we aren't keeping the ball inside our 50m arc it is in and out, they have no chance getting back to defend. Need to anchor 2-3 players in defensive 50m arc

ANB has to go, Sparrow needs to play against men at Casey My Team Jetta Frost Hore Hibberd OMac KK Salem Viney Petracca Harmes TMac Fritsch Melksham Weid Pruess Gawn, Oliver, Brayshaw Lockhart, Stretch, Jones(shouldn't be playing but no other options), Hunt
  6. Our game plan is to push players up around the ball, what Port and Geelong have done and Essendon will do it this week is let our half forwards be around the ball, we will sit back inside your forward 50m arc make it a 3 V 6, win the ball here then switch it to fat side of the ground using the spare defenders, the mids run forward our don't run to defend and it ends up being 9 v 6 in our defensive 50m. Our defenders look like garbage but essentially they are are seeing a wave of unmarked opposition players running at them they need to decide who to man up on. Our forward entries are shallow when we do get it deep it is Weid or McDonald V 3 even if they bring it to ground we have no small forwards or mids working hard to get to the contest to even the numbers. Comes to ground fast exit lose players score. Get back to coaching like U10s football, stay in positions back your ability to win the one on one contest work to assist and out work your opponent. The game is evolving back to one on one football, you can't have 2 -3 loose opposition players sitting across half back un manned. Port told us last week what they were doing, how dumb are we not to listen, sit back wait for them to kick it to you then go from half back, one of their assistant coaches said we know they will eventually turn it over going inside we wait for this and attack.
  7. Oliver and Viney well done the rest can get stuffed
  8. Cant blame backline, no forward pressure no mid field pressure our year is done. 10 to 16th we will finish
  9. Petracca check your pants, little bit of poo will be in your undies
  10. 1999 all over again
  11. No small forwards the ball gets out our forward 50m way to easy, backline have no chance when your forwards cant apply pressure.
  12. This could be 100 points, top four bottom 4
  13. Frost, Oliver and Viney thats it. Tom McDonald shadow
  14. Mitch Duncan is fast we are lazy
  15. Jones where are you, we are cooked
  16. I reckon it could be a bit like 1999, 98 we had an amazing lead into finals some great finals wins to lose the prelim. 99 wasnt a good year few older players were done. Then 2000
  17. Any club watching that has the blue print to beat Melbourne, change direct, speed and spread. Our small forwards dont apply any consistant pressure and you back yourself to sling shot of half back Some real concerns
  18. Salem, wagner, oliver the rest has been smashed
  19. Our forward pressure is disgusting
  20. Done, cooked, and some worrying signs, new rules you need speed,
  21. Our small forwards are a real issue
  22. We are playing like a side that doesn't want to be out there, soft dropping marks, its like we just want to get through to round 1

He fits at Casey learning his craft and hopefully he is good enough to play 100+ games for the club. Our midfield depth isn't that great outside the regular AFL players, we need the next group of midfielders developing at Casey and hopefully pushing for selection mid to late in the year. Whose spot they take is irrelevant at this stage

It's an epidemic, young men committing suicide or attempting to commit suicide is a massive issue facing society not just the AFL. Most of use grew up with the toughen up attitude and we never communicated our emotions to anyone. It is very hard for my generation and ones older than me to understand what the pressures are on young people that would lead to them even thinking about taking their lives. It is bloody scary, we can't have the mind set that generations before dealt with the pressures of life so why can't these young men. Men are garbage at talking about emotions, add in modern technology it causing more isolation. If boys had an issues when I was growing up we had a punch on and moved on, these days it is worse, social media allows people to attack others and play emotional games for long periods of time. Not sure what anyone can do about it and something I am working very hard at with my boy is listening, it doesn't come naturally to me and it is hard sometimes really understand what he is really saying, but I'm there and I hope as he gets older he will always know that I'm there to listen.
