  1. Next question then, is there any age limit when we submit our permission to train list for pre season in the AFL. Get him doing some of the training with out overloading his body.
  2. If he played U16 this year does that mean we are looking at the 2012 draft. Can we do what gold coast did with young Swallow, guarentee that we will pick him up, get him training with us playing for Casey so 2013 he has already been at the club for 12-18 months.
  3. The club is at fault, people have been shown it, a little bit of hype was created, it is human nature to try and find it. If the club didn't even mention that they are redesigning the emblem then nobody knows, no one searches for it. It's out, the club should get on the front foot this week at the presidents lunch, the premium Members function this week, the score board at the game. Then at the B&F go through what it means. It does look great, the main issue with it being out it may effect our Mechandise sales as most will wait until the new range comes out.
  4. Maric will play this week nothing more certain. His form at Casey over the last 6 weeks has been OK and we need to give him 4-5 games this year to se if he can play at AFL level. 2010 was always about getting games into players so we would be a better team in 2011. Make no mistake Maric will be a dangerous small forward and can run through the midfield.
  5. There has been many positives this year, if you look at the games played there is only two games Hawthorn and Geelong where at some stage we have been in the game during the 3rd quarter. The problem is for most games we have lost we have been smashed in the first quarter and had to work hard to get back in the game, then we fall over in the last quarter. The next stage is going from putting yourself in a postion to win games to actually winning games. The next 6 weeks are important for the club to continue to build on what has been achieved over the past 16 weeks, we need to improve and go from being competitive to winning. The next 6 weeks are important for us to continue to build the hype around our potential, this will not only assist with momentum going into 2011 season but will assist in the efforts of our Admin team to grow Sponsership/Members and the AFL to give us the draw that will see us play in more prime time slots against good drawing clubs. We are competitive but we have no room to be complacent in the upcoming weeks.
  6. The Key to get the most out off Watts for the rest of 2010 is to keep the good players around him. The introduction of Jurrah, Sylvia back in, we need Bate to play more consistant footy. All the sudden we have a forward line that is looking like it can kick winning scores. If we have players that can kick goals it takes the pressure of Jack and the expectations some have that he needs to kick goals to have a good game.
  7. I can't believe people can't see the importance of Bartram. His is our best small defensive defender on our list at the moment. He is the guy that gets the job on the most dangerous small forward each week so guys like Grimes, Bruce and Co can run off and set up. That little diver yesterday didn't beat Bartram he got a couple of easy goals from our stupidity. At the start of the year I was one that had Bartram gone come seasons end but he is so important to our team that he would be in our best 22 in 2011. Look at our list We don't have that stopping small defender, Cheney is close, Strauss/Bennell will be more the creative HBF and Grimes is the same but belongs in the middle. For this week Out Moloney, Morton In Trengove, Maric I'm dropping Morton because we can't play Morton, Bruce, MacDonald, Garland, Rivers and Bartram in the same backline one has to go and Morton was bad yesterday. The Captain has been out to long needs a run at VFL level.
  8. I posted before, not only the extra man in defense but have a look at the opening bounce, we had a very defensive set up. We are so concerned about getting blown away in the first quarter that we are starting defensive and still getting blown away. We all rave about our backline and it is a strength, but we don't back them one on one we seem to think we need to get 18 players in our defensive 50m arc to help them out. We look our best when we do back the one on one and we attack.
  9. He is learning to work and to be honest I have been supprised by his work rate ove the past couple of weeks. The last quarter he was spent and errors happen. The set shots, I bet if you go down to training this week he will be working on the shots on an angle. Once he gets stronger through the legs he will be able to stand in tackles and dish off, at the moment once he is caught he is done. I thought his field kicking yesterday was fantastic he didn't miss to many targets by foot, but his two set shots let him down.
  10. 6. Scully(the only player that turned up for the first quarter) 5. Frawley 4. Sylvia 3. Watts 2. MacDonald 1. Green
  11. When will we learn that we are a very good team when we play attacking football. The problem yesterday was we started with a defensive mind set. Look at the starting bounce instead of taking the game on from the start we had 2 defensive tags. We spent to much time running to a defensive position then trying to beat on man. When the game was gone at half time we took the game on, this is the way we need to start. IMO this goes back to the last couple of years we have been blown away and the game has been over by quarter time, it seems we are trying to limited the damage in the first quarter but we are getting smashed. Note to the coach, attack, attack, attack we have a forward line that can kick enough goals to win games we just need to get it into the forward 50m arc more and have players in there.
  12. You find quite a lot of ex players sitting in the second level of the Olympic stand. You will be suprised how many still go regularly.
  13. How much trouble is North Melbourne in, the fixture has smashed there game attendance figures, the membership is very bad. They just can't seem to create hype about their club. Their list is young and looks good, hats off to the MFC we have grown our club on future potential and off field leadership. Bring on 40K members
  14. I went to Werribee a few weeks back a left thinking this kid has ability. His ruck work was good he took some good marks and looked very quick and mobile for his size. With picks that high in draft especially key talls it is a punt and it is far to early judge on his ability and whether he will make it.
  15. I have to say our club isn't doing much wrong at the moment, it is only a matter of time when the performance on the field will catch up to the performance off it.
  16. Is he on the Jack Grimes Program of a few years ago. Get him through a few games and bring him in for a taste in the last couple of games. Hopefully Blease can also stay healthy and we see him against North.
  17. You hope guys like Healy, Hughes, Miller and Newton can get back on the park soon, these 4 more than likely will not be on our list next year but you hope they can play good footy for Casey and get another chance at AFL footy.
  18. It wouldn't supprise me if we won, I think both Morton and Bail will come in to add that hard running fitness that is needed at Subi. I think our match ups will be good down back, Dunn will play on Pav when he is on the ball and Frawley will get him when he goes forward. Winning will be tuff but I also think we can.
  19. The most pleasing side has been our crowd numbers against interstate teams. From memory we have 36K against Brisbane, 23K Adelaide and just under 30K West Coast.
  20. With three home games to go against Sydney, Richmond and North we should be able to push our home game attendence above 400,000 for the year. We should get over 50K at the Richmond game and hopefully over 30K for each of the other two. Its amazing the difference the draw makes. We have home games against Hawthorn, Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond at the MCG, when you compare that to North Melbournes draw we have been blessed by the AFL this year.
  21. I would say Morton has been dropped because he hasn't learnt what the club has been trying to teach him over the two past year. The reason he was played down back IMO is to teach him a defensive side of his game, lets face it the guy would never had to man up before being drafted. You can't just get the easy kicks in footy and I've noticed Morton has been doing this over this year running back into the defensive 50 for the switch kick, maybe this is a role set for him but by being dropped this week maybe it isn't. On Morton's kicking over 40m his kicking is very very good, the kicks that he struggles with is the short 10-25m kicks he doesn't kick them hard they seem to go very high and take for every to reach a target. It's like a toe poke kick.
  22. I don't mind this team, I would leave out Miller, Warnock and Maric.
  23. We need to add to our midfield no take players out of it, if we play Rivers, Warnock, Frawley, MacDonald, Garland down back we will get hurt against the Saints. Gice MacDonald the job on Goddard, Rivers to Kosi, Garland gets Stanley, Bartram gets Milne, Cheney to Buchanan, Frawley to the other forward. Move Grimes into the midfield so my team has change slightly Bartram Rivers Garland Cheney Frawley MacDonald Scully Grimes Trengove Sylvia Bate Dunn Davey Watts Green Jamar Moloney Jones MacKenzie Spencer Bruce Morton In Sylvia Cheney Spencer Out Warnock Miller Jetta Ideal game for the red headed defender the Saints don't have a lot of speed.
  24. Jamar needs a rest at some stage and at the moment when he takes the 5 min out of the ruck we get smashed. I would like to see him rest up forward as a deep target for 5-10mins per quarter. We need to play a second ruck we can't keep having Miller, Dunn and Sylvia ruck they get smashed.
  25. That was great, then you compare it to Davey, MacDonald and I think Garland all standing around the footy waiting for someone to pick it up, those guys wouldn't like that footage.
