  1. Saints have been pushing hard to get 3 round 1 picks this year. They have 2 (pick 3 and 17) and would have our pick 2 or GWS' pick 1 in their sights but I can't see anything they have to offer. (apart from Stevens)
  2. I don't mean to sound rude but I think alot of people are overvaluing them. These two were among the worst on our list this year - why would any club want some of the worst players from the team with the worst list?
  3. Hasn't the AFL given Collingwood a better compo (P12) than Hawthorn for Franklin (P19)?
  4. Just thought you as the thread maker might be able to edit it that's all. All good.
  5. Is this right: The Hawks now have pick 19 (Franklin compo), pick 34, 52 (+ a couple of late rounds) left for the draft and have gained McEvoy but have lost Franklin and got rid of Savage and pick 17?
  6. Possibility to trade pick 21 + Jamar for a good Sydney mid?
  7. They looked like they played well together earlier this season...
  8. Expansion clubs are a big apart of the equation 'rjay', as well as Schwab. Yes we started rebuilding before their introduction and had three top 5 draft picks over 2008 and 2009 including three priority picks (disregarding the fact that ultimately one gets taken by an expansion club). But its also important to remember that GCS and GWS had a serious amount of draft concessions which didn't help in that in 2010 and 2011 we did not have any top 10 draft picks (compared to GCS who had 6 and CWS who had 8 top 10 picks). Hell even Brisbane had 2 top 10 draft picks during that period! For what its worth and a bit of a tangent, this is my equation: Tades/Delisting/Retirement of experienced players from 2008 to 2010 (total of 1,507 games experience) + Extremely poor draft choices (Gysberts @ #11, Blease & PP @ #16, Cook @ #12, Tapscott @ #18, Watts @ #1) + Lack of top 20 draft picks in 2010 and 2011 & GWS and GCS concessions taking alot of draft talent & $cully + Poor administration (appointing Schwab, coaches, Board's extension of Schwab's contract) + Bad coaches (Bailey and Neeld) + Bad player attitude, effort and performance + Bad list management (Jamar, Pedersen contracts) + Bad luck (Wonna/Jurrah, EnergyWatch, and Jim) = why the MFC is so bad However, you could also expand this and include: - Good recruiting (Dawes, Clark) - Good list management (Gysberts, Bennell, Morton, Cook gone) - Good new CEO - Good player development (Clisby, Terlich, Magner, Fitzy/Spencer) And hopefully: - Good recruiting (Toupmas, Hogan, and whoever we get his year) - Good player development (better fitness through Misson's 3 year plan) - Good coaching (Paul Roos) - Better player attitude, effort and performance
  9. And pick up Aish? Win win... or so it should be but we have a knack for buggering something
  10. Nar pretty sure that's Nick Riewoldt...
  11. Aren't the majority of players that go to new clubs paid more? The fact of the matter is that Dawes and Clark came to the Dees during Neelds tenure. Money is usually a big factor but we know publicly that it wasn't a big driver for Dawes - he is studying to be a lawyer and was more concerned about where he was going to (both club and position wise).
  12. Publicly they haven't put any trade bait up and the only non-free agent they have expressed any interest in is Robinson but has been reported as a not likely to happen. So far they don't have any trades out going and all of their delistings have been on their rookie list. It's pretty clear they would rather keep their current list and go down the free agency road...
  13. Someone the other day asked what Schwab was up to - just published an interesting article on The Age re Franklin and the Swans: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/bending-the-rules-results-in-a-twotiered-competition-20131003-2uxh6.html
  14. I'm surprised Adelaide hasn't offered anyone to trade considering that they won't have any first or second round picks - including father sons. It would be a tough deal as they only have players and third round picks to barter with but I'm surprised not even Sloane was on the table just to see what they could get...
  15. If I was the club I'd be all over him like a fat kid and a cupcake...
  16. You've failed to take into account the standards of the teams where players are struggling to get a game at compared to the team they are going to. Ie, Dawes - struggled to get a game at Collingwood but definitely in our best 22. Same can be said for a number of free agents out there this year (Cross, Chapman, Thomas, Ellis ect.) RPFC has said the rest.
