  1. you mean rest on Sundays don't you? Much like Bater or Juice
  2. Much over-rated And any use of miracles would be banned as performance-enhancing-artifices Would go missing on Sunday games too
  3. many reasons, but the AFL would not accept it as a clash jumper - not "light" enough
  4. Agreed, I thought the clash jumper actually created the clash and the white shorts all the more so red, white and navy sure looks like red, white and black to me understanding the afl rules after the trengove episode is a bewildering exercise
  5. lol, and I know one os based 'lander who predicted a top 4 finish this year I didn't seek this year as a development year originally, more a tightening up year. Now I see the rest of the year as very much a development year. Blood some more of the youngsters (Howe, Nicholson, Blease, Strauss, Gawn, maybe Cook and some others). Bate, Newton and maybe some others to stay in the VFL no matter how they perform for Casey. BTW if you want to save some coin on your sojourns don't forget jcb's offer to pick you up at the airport
  6. There were a lot of people here on Demonland who wanted him at draft time. Biggest worry was whether he would be available for our first round pick Too late now..............
  7. Ah, Thats not how I read your post. If you were referring to Bailey being responsible for actions pre2008 as stupid, then fair enough and I withdraw my comment/question re being remote example. Judging the team plan/tactics is much different being live at the game than watching on TV because you can see whats going on/not going on outside the TV frames. Whether the players are following the coaches game plan of course is another question but you can at least judge it for yourself better at the game. So the remote issue was in context of judging the coaches responsibility on game day.
  8. probably a bit unkind, but not to be taken too literally more making the point of being remote generally limits ones ability to judge certain things
  9. Why "in a very stupid way" is he responsible? How can you possibly deduce this from the remote outpost of Canberra? I'm holding off my final judgement for now though it doesn't look good. Bailey has been given a fairly free rein to rebuild the side and to say that (possibly) holding Bailey (in some way) reponsible is stupid, is just as stupid. We don't want an average or just reasonable coach, we want someone who can take us to a flag. If Bailey can't do that then get someone who can.
  10. it could mean dreamonlanders know nothing?
  11. smartest thing you have said for a longtime Rhino..............I like it he did take a mark once sitting on Richo's shoulders.....maybe he can ruck as third man up?
  12. Yeah agree, sub next week or maybe forward pocket plus a word in the ear that one more shocker and its definitely the magoos.
  13. I suppose there is plenty of time to knock that out of him. Can't have him upsetting team balance
  14. Neither do I, as long as it is mine. I worry about you though.
  15. Pendlebury Franklin Judd Because they don't play for us and all were Demons supporters
  16. This year we have seen real visible IMPROVEMENT week by week in Jack's game, application and intensity Yet, people still want to complain He aint there yet but the improvement is growing week by week, what do people want - an overnight complete makeover? Be REALISTIC and ENJOY the journey. I was critical of Jack's efforts last year but this year is a POSITIVE If you want to complain there was much more elsewhere yesterday
  17. Barts had a real Jeckyl and Hyde day today His bad was very costly, his good shows up in his stats. He certainly tried his guts out all day as he usually does.
  18. Despite all the ugly stuff and stoopid turnovers it was a 100% improvement over last weeks game (last 3Q's that is)
  19. GOOD HEAVENS is EVANS GOOD !
  20. (a) and (B) seem to be what they always were (at least as far back as I remember and thats considerable). that leaves interpretation, and this is constantly changing two things that still seem to be a factor is the home-crowd-effect, and the umpires favourites, but you can't legislate against that can you?
  21. I still don't understand why they made it illegal. Well not illegal, but don't allow for prior opportunity. Just another trick they removed from a ruckmans arsenal. What pizzes me most in ruckwork now is the use of arms when jostling for position. I'm sure when I was young that that would be pinged for "shepherding in the ruck". Its just so effinn ugly now
  22. Seems Bails has given up on being "competitive" and instead he said on radio they will this time "have a go" Glory be he has got a plan B after all!
  23. Rucks then were allowed to grab the ball too without penalty if tackled. I don't think this counted as a hitout but there were a lot of grabs and if I remember Stynes was quite adept at grabs.
