  1. 2 things 1. Jurrah needs to play 2. I'm leaving if we run out in the white guernsey
  2. Are you suggesting Newton will rise from the ashes Phoenix?
  3. I'd actually just started thinking he might leave so thanks for reassuring me that he's staying. If he did go we'd get Category 4
  4. They may want ask the AFL if eye gouging is acceptable yet.
  5. Essendon are fast becoming a rabble and I love watching it.
  6. Jurrah will play Round 15 V Essendon at the MCG. It'll add 5,000 to the gate and help win us the game. The club needs to show the AFL that it deserves to play the big clubs at home every year! I'm [censored] that Carlton come to "our" ground as the home team and it's been 3 or 4 years since we played a home game against the Dons. I have developed a strong dislike for inequality.
  7. The defensive half forward is the role he is most suited too. Unfortunately forwards need to be attacking players.
  8. Davey in the centre square? Fraser drops it? Cloke drops it? O'Brien in the back on Miller? Jamar when attempting to ruck and Jolly just stands there? Staggering, just staggering!
  9. We were not outplayed for most of the game. In fact besides the start our backline and midfield were all over it. We won contest after contest in several fantastic passages of play. Sure our forward line is still a work in progress but in the game I watched we were the better side and deserved the win. In fact had Brad Green had his kicking boots on we wouldh've. Still I walked away happy in the knowledge that 1. We are definately on the right track 2. Collingwood are still pretenders 3. Collingwood bought a dud in Jolly to go with that other dud Fraser and 4. I though we copped the raw end from the umpires. Agree on Warnock when he kicked down the line and found Jolly who found Lockyer for the goal to tie. Personally thought one of Grimes or Bartram shouldh've have circled him for the handball and then the switch, not to be. Got a feeling that Warnock may need to be replaced down back before we win a flag. Seems to get the jitters and on the last line, this can lead to problems. Hats off to Moloney and Jamar, Wow, sensational games from the two of them. Just gotta love the footy!!
  10. I've never been a huge fan of Moloney's ability as a footballer, although I've always admired his passion for the club and the contest. Today though, he really stood up. In a big game in which we were belted early he just ran, contested, tackled, broke tackles and was very clever with his use of the ball. For mine his best game for the club. Hats off!!
  11. From the reports it's clear he's training the house down!
  12. Real Melbourne supporters do it on ski's
  13. If you watch Dunn play his "tuff" stuff (if you want to call it that) is always directed at the man he has his eyes on. Really good players only have eyes for the ball. Just look at Petterd. He and Dunn are probably of similar talent but Petterd will attack the football regardless of the players around him. Until Dunn learns to do this he will only be a good VFL player.
  14. Or you could look at it this way - The club appears pretty determined to foster mateship and unity amongst the playing group. Spending a night in Geelong instead of having all the players, coaches and officials drive back and forth to Geelong seems a pretty cheap and effective way to help achieve this. With regard to Warnock, he was the obvious choice to replace Frawley in the side. It's unfortunate but the club would be seen as complete amateurs if they played Cheney to save the money. Correct decision in my book.
  15. Sarcasm is often used to belittle others posts.
  16. Dunn will probably play this weekend and good on him for earning another try. However when the heat is on I suggest you watch him closely. At the end of the day you will understand what I'm implying.
  17. This is the beginning for Jack. He has the ability to become a very good footballer, possibly even a "star". To do this he's going to have to work harder than he ever has before. He's going to have to take a leaf out of the Tom Scully training manual. He'd be well advised to spend his down time watching videos of Carey, Riewoldt and Hird, both playing and training. Talent means very, very little now for Jack, it's what he's prepared to do with that talent that matters.
  18. It tells me that they watched as their young side was bullied and now, after a few more years of development they are the bullies. In 3 years time our team will have "developed" the necessary strength, skills and guile to play the ball the way it needs to be played, with single minded intent. That's what's tough and you only need to watch Geelong to know that. Forget about Carlton, they don't have the spread of talent we have and they know it. They'll be another of our whipping boys in 3 to 4 years time.
  19. Maybe the coaching department are looking to the future and Dunn isn't in it! Dunn will possibly play this week but he is not the answer. I was always hopeful about Dunn and bemoaned his lack of forward chances. This year I watched him closely and it became apparent he's not in our best 22. So he kicked 8 for casey, didn't Newton kick a few bags for Sandy and take MOTY. Dunn's a good footy player but not at the top level.
  20. Watts needs to play forward/on ball at Casey.
  21. Gysberts Grimes Morton Jamar Moloney Green
  22. Until he adds some strength to his frame and some confidence in that strength he's just not able to impact a contest against bigger bodied players. At the moment he looks tentative and seems to watch his opponent rather than just attacking the ball, not to mention lose his feet. As his body and confidence develop over the next 2 to 3 years I'd expect to see him hitting some contests pretty hard if for no other reason than just to let some average backmen know that he's now ready to play. I'm backing him to make it but it's no certainty, or is it? I no longer know.
