  1. If we play GWS, Dogs, GC and PA twice and only win 7 games then likely the season will be a shambles. i've had 5 years of KPI's, Competitive quarters, and other measurements. In that time I've watched the club lose deliberately, squander draft picks on ping pong players, fail to develop barely any of the talent, lose by 186 points thanks to a player revolt, watched a good bloke in Dean Bailey being undermined by his own employers, seen The Footy Show host called in again to try and fix the problem. On top of all this the club puts the team in pink jumpers, school boy blazers, fancy logos, continues to shuffle incompetent employees around to cover their mistakes and spins more corporate crap than I can handle, all the while wanting my money. They can stick it all up their asswholes. Let's stop the excuses and demand 11 wins. With the draw we're going to get its not that hard. 7 my ass Note: I believed the hype, not again.
  2. 11 2 against PA, GWS, GC makes 6 Richmond x 1 Essendon x 1 Dogs x 1 ? x 2
  3. Sean White Matthew Whelan Steven Icke Peter Giles Danny Hughes Brett Lovett Rod Grinter James Frawley Special mention: Jamie Dursma
  4. We'll be top of the ladder after Round 1. And out the 8 for the rest of the year!
  5. So in 2011 and 2012 the club was truly woeful, wavering from close to unwatchable to totally unwatchable. In 2014 we'll have a front half that contains Clark, Dawes, Hogan and Howe. Our back half will include McDonald, Frawley, Watts and likely Pedersen. The midfield will include Jones, Viney, Trengove, Grimes, Blease, Sylvia, Pick 4 this year. A good pick next year and hopefully we'll pinch a GWS young gun next year as well Am I too biased or is that a strong line up if the coaching and player development is sound?
  6. The great advantage we have with Dawes is Neeld and Brown know exactly what we're getting. He's going to be coming to a club that is still installing a professional work ethic. If any of our remaining players aren't sure what is expected then having Dawes and Byrnes running around will soon show them. Both are excellent clubmen, something we gave lacked for awhile. It's a big win for us
  7. Don't rate him, happy to have the club cut its losses. The only reason he'd be kept is because of what I'm now calliing The Sydney Effect. Being that you remove an average player from a side, drill some team ethics into them and coach them to play a role without compromising on any part of the expectations you set for them.
  8. The system may improve over time but age and future salary keep it simple and seem like a reasonable place for FA to start. You can't rank players on past best and fairest finishes in any way as the teams they play for are of different standards. The more criteria you apply to the ranking system the more shades of grey you create and the more discrepancies you'll end up with.
  9. Not doubting it would be good to have Dawes on our list but if another club trump us, so be it, we'll take Stringer at 20 and move on
  10. The Magpies are pushing Dawes out as Q Lynch came cheap and their salary cap is bursting at the seams. Is this correct? Are the Pies replacing him with a cheaper version? Why else would you opt for Q lynch over Dawes? Surely Dawes is the better prospect? Is his hand rooted? Strange
  11. Those bemoaning the quality of the current game are probably whining about the lack of good silent movies as well. It can get congested at times hence we're moving to a 2 and 2 interchange. The current game has a far higher skill level, is much more physical and asks much more of players.
  12. A classic wait and see type. I never thought much of Rhys Shaw but he's a solid cog in a Premiership team. As those around him find their feet he may well surprise us,
  13. Maybe pick 20 and Martin for Dawes and the pies second rounder to flip to North for Pedersen. As for Gumby, just no. By the way Dawes's physicality puts him ahead of Martin. He's also played and trained with a Premiership club as has Byrnes. I like what I'm seeing and am presuming Taggert, Strauss and Blease are going to improve, or that's what the club is thinking. We've also got the GWS guys coming out of contract next year to buy us the last pieces of the puzzle.
  14. Would be happy to see him make a success of AFL.
  15. Cook was a flawed pick. He was tipped to go late second round but we picked him at 12. Another grasp at a KPP by a club that had made an art out of overpaying for dud big men. I'm optimistic that this has finally changed. Hogan and time will tell!
  16. Or 2. Shrug tackle 3. Dish off to Blease/Strauss/Sylvia/Grimes/ 4.kick it to Clark/Watts/Hogan(2014)/Howe/ 5. Goal 6. We celebrate All thanks to a strong mid getting the ball and either breaking or standing up in the tackle. Tough, hard, accountable footy, Melbourne style
  17. We haven't as yet missed anyone. We went hard and got Clark last year and I realiise money had its part to play. I can't buy into the we're crap no wants to play for us thing. Maybe I'm too one eyed but surely we can sell the club to 20 something year olds. We play at the MCG, have a strong FD, can pay well, train at first class facilities and have upside in our list (this draft period being more than important)
