  1. Still got to fit them in the salary cap but you have a point
  2. He clearly pulled his head in and worked hard, which is clearly the baseline requirement to being a Swan Sure he got a little lucky but he was able to fulfill a role in the team and unlike any Melbourne player for nigh on 50 years he has a Premiership medallion. Good on him.
  3. It's why Roos is so hard on us. Losing on purpose is a disaster. I wanted it at the time but never again do I want my club to not try and win every moment of every game. It's a long road we must travel
  4. I like hearing the talk but it's wearing thin I haven't lost faith too much history with this club I really hope we see some solid improvement after the train wreck that was season 2012
  5. Thanks. So what you're saying is would should have been able to sign an A grader that resigned with their existing club. And also you say that we couldn't sign them because we're Melbourne and we're crap. Do you think maybe they resigned because they were more than happy at their existing club, I mean they didn't leave and go anywhere else either. So we're on par with the 17 clubs that didn't manage to sign them. (It's Friday and I feel like an argument)
  6. Just stop bagging other posters when you won't even answer a simple question from me.
  7. That's funny I could have said the same thing about another poster on here.
  8. One more time. Who are the A graders we can't attract because we're Melbourne? The reason A graders are so hard to attract is because clubs don't let them go, it's got little to do with other clubs If we can draft well this year(I realize that's quite an if on recent efforts) we will surprise many at how quickly we rise up the ladder. So Rivers is NQR yes?
  9. Who are they? These A graders we can't attract that all the other clubs can? Actually the real point of the exercise is to draft a player who can fulfill a role in a team, ala Sydney and now others. A graders aren't going to win you a Premiership just ask Carlton. However to suggest we can't attract them because we're Melbourne isn't correct. The reason it appears we can't attract them so far this year is because besides Goddard there's none available. By the way Clark is far more important than Rivers who you seem so keen to keep.
  10. I'd be happy for Rivers to stay and think he's a serviceable and honest backman but he's still NQR. Maybe our assessment of our players differs, the assessment of our club certainly does. You still haven't told me who the A Grader we can't attract is?
  11. I need these things to occur to enjoy the year 1. Watts to lift his intensity, his workrate and to start taking contested marks. I don't care where he plays on the ground. 2. Mitch Clark to play 22 games 3. James Frawley and Tom McDonald to become the pillars of a strong defence 4. Sam Blease to keep improving 5. With the inclusion of Viney ,a solid draft pick and a recruit I want to see some improvement in the midfield 6. Trengove to pick up some lost pace and kick some goals from 50 metres 8.. Win games against Essendon, Carlton, Geelong and Richmond
  12. Thank the Lord you aren't involved in list management. You better buckle up because more NQR's are going to be shown the door over the next few years.
  13. You need to read my previous posts before writing anything, you've completely misinterpreted what I am saying
  14. Moloney, Rivers, Green, Lawrence, Bate and Jurrah. I'm not going to say any more than just listing their names. It should be plainly obvious what they would offer the club if they were all to stay. How about you name the A Grader who's available that we can't attract. How about we go back a year and relive the signing of Mitch Clark. By the way I did repeat my point.
  15. You still miss my point which I'm not going to repeat for a third time. By the way who's asking to leave that The coaching staff want to stay? Don't come back with Moloney. Jones took his game to another level with sheer will and effort. Moloney wasn't able to so bye bye
  16. Don't get offended. Read my post again. I don't know who it is the club wants but saying we can't land a gun recruit because of who we are and where we are currently at is only going to keep us here longer
  17. Sorry but that's the kind of attitude that has kept us at the wrong end of the ladder for so long. We landed Clark because of a very different attitude. The fact we're looking at some B graders doesn't mean we can't attract an A grader right now. The thing is who is the A grader we want who's available? We have the money, we have a quality coaching staff, we play at the best ground in the world and we have some solid draft picks. We're not the right off you seem to imply we are.
  18. Would love to snare Pearce and Butcher from PA How about they get Martin, Petterd and pick 23
  19. Gumbleton.......please.......are people serious. Why on earth would we want to recruit him?
  20. Actually always focus on the journey otherwise life is one let down after another It's in the journey that we learn and get to understand life
  21. Point take. Maybe you offer him an extra $250,000 in his first year for coming on board.
  22. The project will happen as a community sports oval needs to be built in the docklands. It's the time frame that is unknown
