  1. Fair solution.
  2. Of course it is. It has his fingerprints all over it. Good on him for trying, he may yet succeed given the lack of moral fibre of the AFL.
  3. On what basis can it be approved other than further cheating by the AFL ( the fixture etc. ). They have an injured player who is on their list, contracted and being paid. How does it compare to Rama who was delisted as a result of having cancer and Troy Broadbridge. This is a single issue only. Richmond want two picks in the PSD when they have only one. If they wanted to go down this road they had a year to do it by delisting another player or passing on the young player they have obviously targeted. Could everyone stop saying we must help Polak as it has absolutely nothing to do with him and everything to do with his club. Why don't Richmond ask the AFL to ban every other club from rookieing the player they want in the rookie draft and then they can have him and Cousins. That is what they are really trying to achieve. That said I don't really care if it happens and they get Cousins but what if they didn't take Cousins and took the guy we were going to take 1st pick in the rookie draft. This is a crock of [censored].
  4. I concur. I thought the game was played in good spirit and obviously our team was a bit stronger and that was reflected in the result. Previously the Saints have given us players when were short and we did the same this time to help the saints out. This wouldn't be done in a win at all costs contest. The coaching panel take a lighthearted view of these games and one of the main aims is to give everyone a fair run irrespective of ability. We even played a girl in the last quarter of the game against Carlton when the scores were level at three quarter time. We actually had a couple of pretty strong guys pull out of bumps on sunday because they thought they would hurt the opposition. I thought that was commendable. It is disappointing to see stupid posts as everyone enjoys these games and I hope they continue in a good spirit for many years to come.
  5. Its free to nominate. Only cost is rejection.
  6. Richmond are using two sympathy cards to get an advantage that they are not entitled to. They are saying we must look after Polak and Cousins. As others have said on here it is not about looking after Polak at all as he is on the list and will be paid, it is about looking after the Tigers. Polak could be placed on the long term injury list and that satisfies their position. What is at the heart of this is that the Tigers presumably want to take Cousins in the PSD as well as the player they have targeted for their existing pick. If they were genuine they would take Cousins with their pick and take pot luck that the player they want now will be available at their first rookie pick. Personally if they were to guarantee taking Cousins with the extra pick I wouldn't be that worried as it doesn't materially affect us, other than one more player removed from the pool. But clearly this is designed to allow the Tigers to have an extra pick in the PSD that they aren't entitled to. Another solution would be to allow Polak to be rookied and the extra pick be given to the Tigers at the end of the Rookie draft as a PSD pick or rookie pick and then they can uplift a rookie immediately. Richmond are obviously scared that the player they want with pick 6 in the PSD will be rookied before they get to him if they take Cousins. They want their cake and eat it as well. Why didn't they just delist another player earlier or make this request earlier and they could have taken Cousins in the ND with last pick. I can see the AFL refusing this and suggesting the long term injury list and it becoming a choice of punting on their young player being available in the rookie draft or passing on Cousins. This has occurred because it is Terry's last year and Cousins could make a huge difference to their position at the end of the year and therefore a new contract for the Coach.
  7. No one has ever suggested it to me and therefore my ire was never raised. I would have no problem with an official coach of the football club taking over, in fact I would be delighted. There is very little glory in coaching friendlies. The bragging rights belong to the players. I would be happy for anyone to take over and will content myself with the knowledge of three games coached for three wins. It would be a good note to retire on. PS. Where do I pick up my superannuation?
  8. Has he even nominated?
  9. Now that's funny.
  10. Don't think so Freak. You were off once or twice and no more than half the quarter which is at best 1 quarter off meaning at least 75% game time on. Anyway you played a nice game. Glad you enjoyed it, that is the aim of these "friendlies".
  11. They have no PSD pick and he is too old to be rookied.
  12. Agree.
  13. Very.
  14. Great team effort by the Dees today. Some of the play on football was a delight to watch. It was extremely heartening to see guys close enough to have a shot passing to others in a better position. The 1%er's were clearly evident all day. The Dees never let up at any stage and deserved their strong win. We were able to throw guys around and at one stage all frowards went back and the backs went forward with little change to the result. I am a great believer in team over the individual and therefore won't name anyone other than to say everyone put in and it was a very good win making it three on the trot for the Dees. Congrats guys and well done to Rollo ( Peter ) for his organizational and goal umpiring skills. PS. An innovation this time was WJ's blackboard and maybe in time we will learn how to use it.
  15. Only one thing missing in the article, "the solution".
  16. Well that won't happen. I'd make the approach. It probably already has been made.
  17. My gut feeling is that we know who we will be drafting ( certainly PSD and 1st Rookie pick ) already. We can watch others at other clubs and not disclose our interest.
  18. Rhino, unlike you to hold back, tell us what you really thinkof the Wiz.
  19. Why the hell not?
  20. Nothing on TV last night? Good post.
  21. Forgetting all the baggage arguments the simple fact is he is a 30 year old who hasn't played in 18 months and whose last 20 games included 3 serious injuries. Why the hell are we discussing this?
  22. That would be closer to impossible than a miracle. Wouldn't it be great though. It would make it hard for the AFL to ignore us.
  23. Nothing will happen. Pratt is now not an official just a supporter.
