I can see where Bailey is heading but note that Martin and to a lesser extent Dunn are stiff. Hale will play full forward and is a giant and the obvious choice would have been Martin. Martin could also have a spell in the ruck or up forward if needed. Dunn has bulked up and could have gone forward. With Aussie and Maric out we needed a quick small forward and hence Jetta gets his chance. Bennell gets his because of Thomas and Campbell . Cheney deserves his chance after a good pre season. We are a bit quicker with this line up and it will be needed against the Roos.

Pretty good mistake. The guy has played for over 10 years 181 games and 125 goals and carried the ruck at 3 clubs.

So obviously I and others have no idea about football because we disagree with your opinion on Sylvia. Just for the record could you tell me how many times he has been our best player in a game. How was his pre-season this year? Another poster has mentioned his goal kicking stat of .07 goals per game, do you think that is a good one for a player who plays up forward? He is not a midfielder because he doesn't have the engine, so where else do you see him playing? Lastly, based on what statistic or performance do you say guarantees Colin a place in the team every week? I actually think he is a player of potential rather than performance and has largely wasted his first 5 years of AFL football.

Ultimately the Coach will cop the blame. What I am saying is that senior AFL footballers can kick and handball yet when they consistently bugger it up it is not just coaching. Last year they finished with a real bang. Where was that side tonight? There is no doubt, no finals no Terry. However I am sure that the Tigers are not that bad.

That's the point, he isn't. He should be, but he isn't. Maybe he should apply himself to get there. I am more upset about Aussie, Grimes and even Maric not playing.
-
11 first half goals to Carltank from Tiger errors and turnovers. This is a record. Don't blame the Coach when senior players can't kick 20 meters to a team mate and drop basic marks. They have been pathetic so far yet that is clearly not their true form. If it is then he is gone.

Having a look at other clubs' lists there appears to be a lot of ruckmen on them. As far as we are concerned we can either trade for one at the end of this year or draft another one either in the main draft or as a rookie. We can also continue our search for better midfielders and key forwards. Then again 4 wins or less this year will give us access to one of each with the first two picks in the 2009 draft. Sorry I mentioned that.

Has it what? He also has two years to run on his contract. I am prepared to say a miracle is possible and that he may yet play good AFL footy. Then again I have seen him play several times and I will save my miracle for us winning our next flag.

Spoke to the famous Bernie in membership yesterday ( the one who passed on the Kaspersky details to the Corporate section of the MFC ) and he was extremely helpful. I rang about not getting my magazine and he said he would send one. Next day it arrived. He also was patient and took the time to discuss a range of memberships for a new member. He is a credit to the membership department and we should be happy to have people like him selling our memberships.

Correct except for denying midfielder opportunities. Our ruck weakness is glaring. It takes time to develop them. Midfielders more often show their ability early. They can be turned over each year or two if they are not good enough. We have many midfielder types on our list but few rucks. Good rucks are far scarcer.
-
Very likely. Jurrah is no chance to play this week as he has only had one run for a half with Casey.
-
I think it is more a recognition of the disappointment with Meesen when coupled with Jamar's injury. I cannot recall a player that we have traded for that disappoints me more. Boy did the Crows see us coming. I am actually surprised that they didn't sell us Ayres Rock.

Unless you add peoples' pets like the Hawks did.

Well done. You have helped the club we all support and I believe in the same act helped your company to spread its message to many new customers in Australia. Congratulations.

Casey Scorpions v Box Hill Hawks 21/3/09
Redleg replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
KC just phoned in and asked me to put this up as his iphone is dying: Zomer - seems a little slow especially on a lead and was often caught wrong footed. Was moved around a bit to try and get into the game. Maric - great disposal and clearly knows where the goals are. Kicked 3 goals and helped in a couple of others. Played a half and the quicker he is in the side the better because of his general skills and his ability to hit targets. I would almost be tempted to play him next week but they don't do things that way these days and for good reason. He will therefore get at least another run with Casey. Rivers - played most of the game and will be in the side next week. Played well and held the defence together. PJ - dominated the ruck and will play next week against the Roos. Casey had the two best big men in PJ and Wall and that probably held them in good stead. Aussie- appeared a little underdone due to his injury. Played half a game and will probably need another run with Casey opening the door for Jetta next week. Liam Jurrah - did a few nice things in his first run but was naturally rusty and will need a few games with Casey to get to where he needs to be. Valenti - had leather poisoning. Dominated and will form a good combination with Casey small man Matthews. McKenzie- showed a bit and has time to develop. -

We all can and do criticize, praise, question and answer. Some do one more than the other. All are useful in different ways. Welcome to a forum.

Not as happy as me.

Fair enough then.

In a poll of captains as to who would make the top eight not one vote was cast for the Dees. Not even Junior?
-
Tell that to the Hawks.
-
My info was that it was less than the Hankook one. About $1.25m together. We will soon know.
-
The good thing as far as I am concerned is even with our injuries, like Bell, Wheatley, Wheels, Grimes, Robbo, Maric, Jamar etc we still seem to have a deeper pool of players to draw from. This bodes well for the future.

Keep up the passion.
