  1. At the risk of getting howled down I am concerned at Dangerfield's body shape. He looks heavy and dumpy and could struggle for pace in a few years. I also am not convinced he will be a better player than say Trengove.
  2. Unless one of PJ and Robbo were injured today it sounds like one late withdrawal tomorrow and one of them in and the other emergency. I don't think Hughes is qualified to play unless he is capable of being uplifted to the senior list. McKenzie was uplifted a couple of weeks ago.
  3. Yes, after living and breathing the MFC all of my life and waiting 45 years to see a Dees premiership, I can see myself at a Grand Final in the future watching the Dees playing their guts out for that flag, thinking oh a flag won't mean anything to me or my family, because we might have tanked a couple of games back in 09. Then I will notice a few pigs flying across the MCG.
  4. You are clearly correct that player 2-6 could be better than Scully, if he is 1, as it is with every draft. You are also correct that two of the top 6 players is better than just pick 1. However at the moment those of us that are not as familiar with the players available are being led to believe that Scully could be the next Judd and therefore we are all salivating at the prospect of getting him and another possible future star to add to our young and exciting list.
  5. I find it interesting in this talk of tanking which clearly is the flavour of the moment, that we have not discussed what Caroline Wilson said on footy classified this week about Hawthorn. She said they should declare their finals chances over and prepare for next year by resting players and having operations now and trying out new players. They should not go all out to win. Am I missing something. Isn't she advocating tanking? Or is it only tanking when it is done by a side that is at the bottom of the ladder which has won 11 games in 3 years and needs help which is clearly provided for in the rules of the competition? I would respectfully suggest that the media may be seen as more honest if they attacked the inequity of the draw which is cheating of the highest level or are they too scared of the AFL to deal honestly with that topic. PS. Mick and Eddie can also tell us how disadvantaged the Pies are playing 18 games each year in Victoria and not having to go and lose every year at Skilled stadium. Give me a break !!!!!!!!!!
  6. Well written Oracle. You should be in the mainstream print media as your articles are better than most in there.
  7. West Coast wouldn't win if the Bombers forfeited. They will not win again this year. See todays Sun.
  8. We're from D'land, the red and the blue, Yes we're from Demonland.
  9. "Oh we're from Demonland, a fighting fury, we're from Demonland, In any weather you will see us with a grin, drinking dry with Gin",,,,,,,,,,,, Have a vodka, then a rum and do it all again. Oh we're from Demonland ( feel free to continue )
  10. Agree. He didn't play well today, but he was out there in freezing conditions with a bunch of Casey kids who didn't provide one pass to him. He is probably playing in his last year and has played over 220 games and kicked one less than 400 goals for the red and blue. He has been a very good player being picked up as a Rookie after delisting and has stuck with us. He might even have a couple of sons who follow him one day. Why does he deserve the bagging? A bad injury and age are probably finishing him off. He ha promoted the club at all times and been a loyal servant. I don't understand the pack bashing mentality of some of our supporters. I like some others also hope he gets a send off game and retires with good memories of the Dees. PS. His attitude to Demons fans in non game time has been exemplary.
  11. With 11 changes from last week and only a few Melbourne listed players, against a ( Richmond loaded ) Coburg, Casey was sensational in winning today. Peter German has moulded together a great team and football club.
  12. Whether or not Robbo is with us next year, I think he has given us plenty over his career and we should lay off. It pisses me off the way we turn on our players after their form wanes.
  13. I think you hit the nail right on the head. A West Coast win will give Freo first pick of the two West Australians Morabito and Lucas. They can then still beat someone (us ) hopefully and still get their boy and another pick in the second round of the draft. West Coast ran the Saints to 20 points last week and really are much better than the Dockers at the moment. Then again Woosher might drop half the rest of the team for the game.
  14. Hopefully we have pick 18 ( our third pick ) and our first two picks have given us 2 quality midfielders and we can then use 18 on a potential power forward. Another way would be to use our first pick in the PSD ( pick 1 ) to either force a trade for one or to get one for free. Also by keeping Miller as you suggest (for another year) we could have someone ( an experienced hard body) who is tradeable to Gold Coast for a decent pick, of which they will have plenty to trade with.
  15. Add Headland. How many will be back for our game with them?
  16. Not sure if you ae serious, but kick in tactics aren't decided each week.
  17. If so, why haven't we drummed it into all of our list?
  18. For Jarka, Tony Melb and a couple of others, the opening paragraph of my post, quoted here, contains the real thrust of my thread. PS. If I knew how to change the topic heading I would remove the word "discussion" and substitute the word " attack". PPS. I referred to attacking the club over this issue three times in my post and never said proper discussion should be abolished.
  19. Since when did Carlton limit themselves to operating within the AFL Rules?
