  1. Well the Coach played a bloke who didn’t get one possession in the Prelim and guess what, he only managed one today. Worst part is he is the Captain. We can say goodbye to Garlett, Bugg, Smith, McKenna, Pedo, Filipovic and King. Vince has retired and I hate to say it, as I thought he could be anything, but Hunt must be on really shaky ground. He was terrible. We need to bring quite a few new players to improve our list.
  2. Campbell Brown ex Hawk just said and repeated that umpires doing a great job.
  3. Our Captain has done nothing again. He could fix that by telling the umpire the free kick stats.
  4. I’ve shown you he has kicked 60 more goals in the same games as Kennedy and you dismiss it as just a stat. Then you say stats could show Watts was decent. Unbelievable.
  5. People need to quote posters correctly. I said he COULD become our Kennedy not that he is.

Josh Kennedy 90 goals in his first 5 years in the AFL in 67 games. Jesse averaged 50% more disposals in those games as well. I think you are the one that needs to feel really embarrassed. Also I was rubbishing the get rid of Hogan thread. I never said he would have made a difference yesterday, so don't change the meaning of my post. I said he could be our Josh Kennedy and people want to get rid of him. He is on better track than Josh was at the same stage.
  7. Why are we talking about May, he is apparently off to the Pies.
  8. He wouldn't have been the difference clearly, but he played better yesterday than our 2 key forwards and for that matter our 2 key backs and he wasn't even on the ground.
  9. Don't think our FD share your hope. See what he does today.
  10. Because you posted this " Who was the guy who started this thread?" I did. I answered by quoting a line from the Dobie Gillis show, used by his friend Maynard G. Krebbs, whenever he was called by anyone. Just to educate you further, you can win a prize if you guess without looking it up, what the G in his name stood for.
  11. Disagree. Only line breaker with pace on the list. We need more pace not less.
  12. And finally people catch up with me. Now regarding Casey in the GF, we are f....d.
  13. If you look at older players, a lot of them go into a self preservation mode. Lewis IMO is in that mode. He looks around when he is under the ball and his disposal can be poor at times, as we saw yesterday. This is most likely because he is aware of the oncoming contact. I am not saying he is scared, but rather that he is not now the fearless footballer that he was a few years ago. Clarko let him go for a reason. Yes he can play, but clearly not as well consistently, as he once could. He is also doing undisciplined acts, which have cost us, which he probably wouldn't have done as much under Clarko. There is a useby date for every sportsman. We need to work out with Lewis if it is now, or at the end of next season.
  14. No, they will trade Darcy and get May. No one would give them 2 first rounders for Moore.
  15. Welcome aboard my train that has been running for a couple of years now.
  16. If you need proof we were mentally shot yesterday, here are 2 examples to illustrate it. Petracca marks 40 out straight in front and passes to left footed Tyson, a worse shot for goal than him, on the left flank. ANB running straight into goal from 35 out, passes to Weid in pocket with 2 Eagles on him. There were many more because we were belted mentally and played accordingly.
  17. I hope not. The only real pace we have.
  18. Ok Wise you are generally positive and I will now go into positive mode. We are better than at any time in the last 12 years. We have some real talent. We have seen that we can play finals, certainly at the G, where earlier this year we were doubting ourselves. Going forward we need to identify areas of improvement. Gawn was done and Preuss would help him no end. Get him. Run and carry is needed. Hopefully Hunt gets back to his best.Maybe Baker can improve. Bring in some run and carry. Skill. Identify those without required level and move them on. Still look for contested players and outside players but identify skill as a major requirement. Pace. Look to improve in that area as well but still with the skill requirement. Try and find another Jeffy type. Cone back next year with real hunger.
  19. Totally disagree. Would not have entered their mind. The aim was a GF not to play a particular club. I think it is more to do with being worried about losing to Eagles and not playing their game but being pressured into mistakes and then losing total confidence in their basic abilities.
  20. What I find disappointing in addition to the fumbles, skill errors, brain fades, dropped marks, slipping over and general pathetic footy from us was the lack of aggression. 34 tackles is a record low in finals over the last 10 years, that from a hard, contested footy side. All it takes to tackle is effort. Also when the game was basically gone in the 2nd half and both teams knew that the Eagles would play in the GF, the Eagles players continued to be aggressive to us and manhandle us and get in our faces, while we gave NOTHING back. They would have been worried about being reported, so were never going to go over the top, but we did NOTHING and gave NOTHING back. My capital letter are probably more aggressive that we were on the day. Where was the fight, anger and aggression that you would expect, if you were being embarrassed in front of the whole footy watching public. We were basically meek and IMO just gave up. We were unable to outscore a side in the second half, that was intent on not getting injured and already thinking of the GF. That was really pathetic from my viewpoint. Yes we had a great year and while a loss is ok, a humiliating one is hard to accept, from a side who promised to give everything in the game and actually gave very little. Last, to finish my little rant, I have banged on on DL for years about needing pace and skill and we still do. I am actually sick of hearing about players who under pressure clearly are not up to it, that they run well or can lay a tackle .Some of the poor decisions and skill errors yesterday should not be glossed over. Yes players can have a bad day and some had their worst, but there are those and I won't name them, as I don't want to be called a hater and I don't hate MFC players, who have these days every time the pressure is on and we just need to keep getting better. All in all a great year by the boys.
  21. I think the problem here is that Jordan was brought in because of his experience and finals nouse and today, he, himself, started the rot. He turned it over with a shocking handball for a goal, he then did it again, he then belted Ryan in the guts for another one and then gave away a 50 for stupidity and another goal. He seemed to go half hearted at the contest a few times as well. Most on here are furious with that. As someone said he was given 1/10 by a Journo for today's effort. His bad play and resultant goals started the rot and yes we went downhill from there. The team was putrid, but IMO and many others on here, he started it. Confidence can be lost in momentum and he killed it. I am not knocking Jordan, only his game today. TBH, I think he would agree.
  22. Yeah, who needs a talented forward who could turn out to be the next Josh Kennedy.
  23. Well looks like I got it right, we were f....d, over.
  24. Yes what is it with that? Multiple Dees players falling over and costing us turnovers and goals. This is not the first game that we seem to be playing on ice.
