Out michie/m jones In Salem We have missed his class all season Best kick in the team
-
Ins. Hogan, Garland Outs. Spencer, Bail/M Jones/Riley Will be interesting to see if West Coast play both NicNat and Sinclair. Don't believe we will carry 2 rucks against the Eagles.
-
As long as bail and m jones are running around we don't have a hope. The sooner players like these are replaced the better
-
Having both Bail and M Jones in the side is a problem. Ideally I'd have Viney replace one of them. I'd rest Tyson for another week. Grimes has taken Jetta's spot so not sure if there is room for him. Viney for M Jones/Bail the only change for next week

I agree... Howe's best position is high half forward. He has now developed his defensive game and will be a headache for the opposition as a 4th/5th tall. The forward make up should be Hogan, Dawes (fit), Pederson, Watts and Howe (pushing up), Garlett and a resting mid.
-
An in form Grimes and Fitzpatrick are critical for the make up of the side. This allows Howe to play high half forward (which is his best position) and also frees up Dunn and Garland to play against 3/4th best forwards. Previously against Port, Mcdonald would have played against Schultz and then we would have played Garland against Ryder (a mismatch). Next week, Fitzi plays against Ryder, Dunn against Westhoff and frees up Garland and Grimes. Playing Fitzi in the back line has been an inspired move by the coaching staff. I'd expect him to play every game of the year from now on..

Bail and M Jones are terrible footballers... For heavens sake never let them play another game for the Demons.

I always said that if bail, m jones and michie are getting a game then we would be in real trouble. Having all 3 in the side at once is a distaster. If hodge and Lewis were playing then this would be a 100 point loss. We might be able to contain them to only a 60 point win. Our midfield is our weakness. Jones, cross, Vince, Tyson, toumpas, m jones, bail, brayshaw. This is our problem and why we will continue to be a bottom side. Cross, m jones, bail have to be replaced and we need another 2 players. Salem, petracca, trengove will come in but we are stil 2 players short and 2-3 years experience.

Brutal but true...

$2.75 are great odds for a Melbourne win. Canberra isn't a home ground advantage to GWS. In fact they lost all their games there last year. North thumped them by 80 points back in August.

Jesse hogan crashing into the pack in the 4th qtr, the ball spilling for a goal

5. Hogan - he looked a little rusty but he built in the game well, you can tell he will start clunking more of those marks, especially with better delivery Love the way Hogan throws himself into the contest. Will provide a real opportunity for the crumbers this year. 2. Grimes - over the last year or two has lost all of his strengths and is just a shadow of the 20 year old who looked so comfortable at this level Was his broken collar bone the catalyst for his demise? Not sure if he ever played well after that.
-
"Garlett looked lazy and disinterested in the first half" The ball kept getting plonked on top of his head and picked off by the taller defender. Didn't really have much to work with

Matt Jones and Jordy are useless. If they get a run this year then we are in real trouble. Garland has lost all confidence with his disposal. He is still good one on one however chokes with ball in hand. Grimes needs to seriously consider a career change. Terrible one on one and even worse with ball in hand. Mcdonald is a good backman however has real issues with disposal. It doesn't seem that there has been improvement in this area over the off season. Toumpas is class. Just needs to find some confidence and her will rip games apart. In general our disposal by foot was woeful. How can a Jamar possibly almost kick the ball on the full from 5m? How can Gawn kick it directly to opposition player without pressure? There are some inexcusable skill errors from our senior players that will continuously hold us back.

Who is the guy taking the picture?

Is Westrupp clogging a spot? Is he part of the main list?

Last year Melbourne delisted 8 senior players (3 retired) and 3 rookies. Are we likely to delist the same number this year and if so who will they be? The players in the firing line are: Strauss Barry Bleese Byrnes Clark - retired

Viney's shoulder broke the left side of his jaw. He will be rubbed out for 3-4 weeks and might get a reduction for a clean record. You can't choose to bump, break a guys jaw and not be expected to be rubbed out

I presume we have negotiated it in a way whereby any cost inst counted towards our salary cap. We are currently only paying 95% of the cap which leaves us with a spare $450,000. Mitch would be on app $650,000. If the club had the spare money then it would give us $1million to poach a top recruit. I think its time to start raiding GWS and GC.

At full strength our back and forward lines are top four in the league. Our midfield is middle of the road with the potential of top 4 with future elite players i.e Viney, Tyson, Toumpas, Trengove, Jones, salem. If we had all our players on the park then I would be confident that we could challenge for a place in the eight this year and a definite finals birth in 2015.

Haven't we been burnt enough in the past by undersized skinny players. Salem might never grow into his body

What are the chances of Roos taking the WCE job? Maybe those rumors of him buying a house in Perth are true ;-)

Not too sure how you believe the priority will be infront of GWS who will finish last?

The supporter base of this club has been beaten into submission. Not even the most optimistic supporter can see through the mess we are currently in. Can't blame some for saying they've heard it all before. Let the club prove to those supporters that they deserve their support. A good relationship has both parties give and take equally. I think that equation has been lopsided for almost a decade.
