Demonland Thanks for Season 2018
I'm sure I speak for many when I say the pleasure is all ours Andy and crew. Demonland is an outstanding forum and getting better all the time. That takes a huge amount of time and effort, and I can assure you that it is greatly appreciated! Speaking personally as an interstate member, I can honestly say that Demonland is my football lifeline. I don't know where I'd be without it.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Thanks Chook, greatly appreciated as usual! I'm not sure I understand the "salary relief" bit. Surely, if Freo have offered Jesse big bucks on a long contract, we wouldn't contemplate paying any of his salary, even for one year (as we apparently did for Jack Watts). What am I missing?

Andrew Gaff
In the post-match commentory on ABC radio, they said he had separated himself from others in the rooms, and was "crying his eyes out".

JKH signs on for another year
Well done! He fully earned it with his second half of the year.

Viney on crutches
We'll find out soon enough, I reckon. He'll be at the 'Bluey' on Monday.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
I'd actually like our Club to be seen as thoughtful and compassionate towards its employees, especially in unforeseen circumstances like those that AVB has found himself in. IMO, along with being successful, this is one of the important 'measures' of a true 'destination club'.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
I have some (heresay) reservations about May, but I do like that he would add some surety, and an element of hardness to our defence. However, that amount of coin and duration do seem a bit 'Rance like' to me. I thought it was most likely his manager 'flying a kite' but I'd be the first to acknowledge that I know absolutely zilch about these things. The principles of supply and demand for ready made key defenders would surely come into it, and there aren't too many of them around.

Rumour File
I'm thrilled for Dec, happy for Drunkn167 and very pleased for Demonland.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Jake Lever (AFL Tonight) seemed extremely enthusiastic about the prospect of playing alongside May. Almost as if he knows something that we don't.

Thanks Cameron Pedersen
I greatly admire Pedo for the way he combined his role as a 'fringe player' on our list, with being a 'heart and soul' clubman, whether in the seniors or at Casey, and both on and off the field. Always gave his all, and you can't ask more than that! If he does the same in the next phase of his life, he'll do well.

Clayton Oliver wins his second Demonland Player of the Year Award
Clarrie is an out and out star, even with two busted shoulders! ......... and it's satisfying to confirm what we already knew, that Demonlanders are far more discerning judges of football prowess than the ALF umpires (as shown by his relatively meagre Brownlow count).
-
Oliver to have surgery on BOTH shoulders!
The mind boggles as to just how good Clarrie is, but even more-so, how good he can become!

Casey Demons v Box Hill Hawks - VFL Grand Final
Jeez we need a decent backup ruckman. Pedo (bless him) can't do everything.

Casey Demons v Box Hill Hawks - VFL Grand Final
Thanks mate. You are a star!

Casey Demons v Box Hill Hawks - VFL Grand Final
Thanks for trying mate. Doesn't work in Canberra, unfortunately. I'll settle on score updates on Demonland. Thanks guys!

Say what you want, I’m proud of this club this year.
We had a 'dog day' today, but all teams in the history of the game have had them. Our timing was awful, but if we learn from it and move forward, all will not be lost. Before the season I would have said: Pass mark = making finals and winning one Credit = winning two Distinction = making Grand Final High Distinction = premiership Overall, I'm very happy with a Credit, but we must now use this as a launching pad for 2019.

Post Match Discussion - Preliminary Final
There are no positives to take out of today, but truckloads to take out of the season. I'll get over the 'emptiness' of today in the next couple of weeks, and look forward to next season with the same gusto that I always do .......... but in the full knowledge that we will be starting from a much higher base than I could have dreamed of a couple of years ago. We are mostly good, but today proved that we are not good enough. That will be remedied!

GAMEDAY - Preliminary Final vs Eagles
They have taken away the hallmarks that have held us in good stead all year. Time to get back to basics and earn some respect Melbourne.
-
GAMEDAY - Preliminary Final vs Eagles
I'm as calm as can be expected in the circumstances ........... which equates to hideously nervous.

GAMEDAY - Preliminary Final vs Eagles
Heartfelt and spontaneous is best!
-
GAMEDAY - Preliminary Final vs Eagles
My mind is addled with the collective thoughts and views of Demonlanders and the football media rotating like a whirlwind. Nervous tension, excitement, confidence, concern, bloody hell! .......... I've decided that a long walk is a safer option than the chainsaw and wood splitting that I had planned to fill the next 5 to 6 hours. Good luck fellow Demonlanders. Enjoy the game!

The Other Preliminary Final
C'wood are doing to R'mond what they did to Melbourne on QB ........ only doing it better! God I hate the prospect of that mob being in the Grand Final ....... but I guess if we make it, beating them will taste even sweeter.

Martin Flanagan's Ode to the MFC
That's just plain beautiful! I have moist eyes, for the umpteenth time in the past month.
