  1. Sestan’s size and body shape remind me a lot of Allen Jakovich. If he turns out to be half as good at football, it will be another recruiting master stroke by Jason Taylor.

    Is 186 under threat?
  3. Good question ElDiab. I don’t think we can blame the wet conditions, the consecutive road trips, or the absence of a few players for the way we played in Saturday’s loss. To my eyes, we were just never ‘switched on’, plain & simple! How can this be?
  4. In a game where no Dees did nearly enough over 4 quarters: 6. Oliver 5. Viney 4. Langdon 3. McVee 2. Petracca 1. Grundy Hunter and Rivers worked hard, and did a few nice things. Move on!
  5. Bowser having shots on goal from the pocket during the warmup, and nailing them. Interesting!
  6. Outstanding work Judd. Hard work and commitment already paying off, and this is just the start! Outstanding rookie selection! Outstanding Club culture to keep him in red & blue! We just keep raising the bar higher!
  7. Our cleaner ball movement and generally ‘on song’ goal kicking, should have them well covered. Add our power mids to the mix, and I can’t see them getting enough ball to trouble us. Oh, and even without Rick Lever and Hibbo, our defence will be too strong in the air and on the ground. That all adds up to a fairly comprehensive 5 or 6 goal win imo, even in the forecast wet conditions.
  8. Yes, it was fantastic. Players so generous with their time! We drove down from Canberra. Making a bit of a holiday of it. Great Ocean Road and visiting some wineries etc.
  9. Summary: Like every ‘Captain’s Run’, the mood was up-beat, and the skills (under no pressure) were precise. I loved the banter, I loved the ‘voice’ when things got a little bit more serious, and I loved the obvious camaraderie between the players. They were having fun, and so was I! My main (humble) take-always were: Kossi is primed. His skills and goal kicking were sublime, and he looked a million bucks (but I hope we don’t have to pay him quite that much!). On two occasions, I saw him and Goody embracing. Read into that, whatever you want. Based on positioning at today’s mini match sim, Petts will play back on the weekend. Chandler was doing some solo set shots towards the end. He nailed most of them from around 40m in a ’tricky’ cross wind. Looked good! He was also very vocal in the drills. Max isn’t too far away. He wasn’t involved in any of the drills, but was running and kicking at what I’d estimate at 75%+, before most of the others took to the field. No knee strapping was a good sign imo. Grundy is growing in fitness. Gee he was quick off the mark in short sharp bursts in the mini match sim. Hard to estimate who might be sub, but Lawrie looked really classy in the ‘easy’ going. FWIW, there’s been a bit of very light drizzle over the last hour where I am (about 5/6 km from Adelaide Oval).
  10. Sorry mate. Couldn’t catch him. I was too involved getting player photos. Our boys were so, so obliging! All of our 5 Demon-mad grand Children will love me forever for this.
  11. All 4 emergencies present.
  12. Three quarter no contact drill. Petts is with defenders.
  13. Now handball run throughs.
  14. Short sharp passes underChoco’s supervision. Very clean and precise. Choco barking instructions and applauding at times.
  15. Eclectic kick to kick, soccer and other warm up drills. Lots of banter. Very relaxed and having fun.
  16. Now kicking at 100%!
  17. Just arrived at North Adelaide oval. Max running and kicking at half pace, no strapping on knee.
  18. Outstanding recruitment! Fantastic development! Excellent re-signing! Both on and off the field, we continue to grow!
  19. Another insightful and most enjoyable podcast guys. We listened intently this morning, as we drove from Port Fairy to Robe along the Great Ocean Road, en route to Adelaide for the Gather Round. Love your work, love the Dees!!

Ponchos. Our son mad one. Keeps him warm, and looks great! A fantastic way to show the longevity of your support through ‘thick & thin’.
  21. It’s still early days, but to my eyes, a few of our ‘second / third tier’ players have lifted there contributions and consistency by a notch or two this year. In particular, I’m thinking Sparrow, Rivers, Chandler, and when given the opportunity, JJ. I’d love your comments on this observation please. If this can be sustained, I reckon it could prove decisive come the latter rounds, and September. Love the pods. Keep up the great work guys!
  22. Great win Dees. Very even team performance, and more selection headaches for our Match Committee next week. More than happy with the 10 goal margin and the 15% that came with it. Onward and upward …….. Go Dees!
  23. 6. Grundy 5. Viney 4. Oliver 3. Hunter 2. Fritsch 1. Petracca TMac, Rivers, Sparrow unlucky.
  24. Of course, a win is mandatory, but this is a perfect opportunity for us to win big, and bank some valuable percentage. I’ll be disappointed with anything less than an 8 goal win, but I’m expecting Easter joy!
  25. Another outstanding poddy guys. Demonland and the podcasts are the football life blood for this interstate member.
