Outstanding effort by the Army on Saturday. I witnessed first hand how vocal they were in support of our mighty Dees. Although outnumbered (maybe) 500:1, they made themselves heard throughout the match, and at one stage late in the game, the MELBOURNE chant is all you could hear around the ground. The Crows and their fans were ‘dead & buried’! Loved it! Well done Army!

Thanks guys for another fantastic poddy. Kept Mrs DOF and myself 100% engrossed as we drove from Adelaide to Coonawarra, after spending Saturday arvo watching our mighty Dees at Adelaide Oval. Couldn’t agree more with Bin’s assessment, that it was a fantastic performance in the context of our season.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
Deeoldfart replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
From day one he was a ‘work in progress’. As you say Nascent, he hasn’t had an ideal start to his career, but in my view, he has definitely earned a contract extension. Jason Taylor doesn’t get too any wrong, even with his ‘speccy’ picks. -
Seems like a fabulous kid who loves our Club, and has worked his [censored] off to get the most out of himself. A great prospect, and another giant tick for Jason Taylor and his crew.

I‘ll be there in support WCW. It will be my first visit to the new Adelaide Oval, and I’ve driven 1200 kms, across three States, to get here. Looking forward to yelling my lungs out for our Mighty Dees, and clearing the immediate area of Crows fans by 3/4 time. 😇. Celebration planned in the Barossa tomorrow.

Outstanding footballer. I remember crying my eyes out when I first heard the horrible news of his passing. RIP Sean.

Great work again guys. Thank you!

Dogga strikes me as someone who is too far principled to play those sorts of games, and in any event, why would he want to 'walk' to North, which is where he'd end up based on today's ladder positions.

One chapter closes, another opens. All the very best for bright horizons. Thank you Majak!

A minor earth tremor was recorded in Canberra last night ……….just moments before Spargo’s goal in the last.

Now that’s what happens when we play ‘the Melbourne way’!

In the unlikely event that we lose to Brisbane, we will get on a ‘post loading roll’ against Adelaide the following week
-
Good interview. Richo is always fair and measured with the media. No BS.

The two top teams. We are missing key personnel, but so are Brisbane. Neither team has been in good recent form. We have had a number of players well below their best in recent weeks, and a few for quite a bit longer than that. If these players return to something like their best, we win comfortably. If not, we struggle. Classic 8 point game. Time to put off-field distractions behind us, discard any fatigue from ‘loading’ and assert ourselves. Go Dees!
-
Our best available team imo. Just need a return to form from a few who have been a bit 'off the pace' in recent weeks, and we will record a comfortable win. Brisbane 'outs' help in this regard.

More than happy to do this Andy, but as my user name suggests, I'm old (verging on ancient!). You are talking different language to me, but if you send me a link, I can probably find the right place to leave feedback.

Another hour or so very well spent. Thanks Andy, George & Bin.

Fantastic podcast once again guys. Keep up the great work! My MFCSS is still in remission, for at least another week!

C’mon Dees. Let’s put the crap of last week behind us by doing what we do best, and thumping the Magpies.

Simon Goodwin Press Conference (10/6/22)
Deeoldfart replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
An excellent presser from Goody. Very balanced and unemotional, didn't shy away from issues of the week. -
Thanks Paul. I love debuts. His selection puts a bit of gloss on what has been a very 'ordinary' week.

Hunty has been very solid, playing in an unfamiliar role, for most of the season. Sure, he has lowered his colours (quite badly) over the last two weeks, but I would argue that the absence of May, an out of form Lever, and a banged-up Petty, have buggered up our team defensive structures to the point where he has been exposed one-on-one, on much taller and / or stronger opponents, on far too many occasions This is clearly not his go. On balance, I’m comfortable with his omission this week, but I think your use of the word ‘pathetic’ says more about your understanding of the game than it does about Hunty.
