  1. For reasons unknown to me, I was told by my strong Essendon supporting parents, that Melbourne had defeated Essendon to win the Flag in 1948 (which happens to be the year I was born). As the story goes, I was leaning towards the Dees for this reason alone, but the ‘55 Flag sealed the deal, and I’ve been ‘rusted on’ ever since. I was fortunate enough to live through our ‘Glory Years’ as a kid, and I still hold out hope for another era like it in my latter ‘twilight’ years. Unlike me, my three kids and five grand children, were given no choice in the matter. After 2021, I’m sure they have no regrets.
  2. Hibbo has always been an honest, ‘heart and soul’, true (red & blue) contributor to our Great Club, ever since he first joined our ranks! He has always given his all, even through the hardest of personal times, and is a Premiership player to boot! All the very best Hibbo, for whatever lies ahead!
  3. Love this signing. Bowser brings a rare and invaluable skill-set within our team.
  4. Outstanding, insightful interview Andy. My hopes for 2024 and beyond are becoming rejuvenated after listening. JT always seems so open with his responses. Thanks to you and all Demonlanders who posed questions. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  5. Adelaide will need to wear a clash jumper when they play us.
  6. Agree Storm. Fantastic interview. Seems incredibly grounded and mature, and focused on the job at hand.
  7. Great seasons by the top 6, in the correct finishing order imo. Thanks WJ, for running the count, and promoting the AFLW.
  8. Contributed for 4 quarters 6. Goldrick 5. West 4. Hanks Very good in patches 3. Zanker 2. Pearce 1. Gay
  9. Reluctantly, but I’ll have a crack. Can hold their heads up: 6. Hanks 5. Goldrick 4. Hore For effort only, on a day when most of our players wandered around like lost sheep: 3. Purcell 2. Heath 1. McNamara
  10. I’m speechless, so I won’t say any more!
  11. I’m completely gutted and it’s only 3/4 time. I’v very rarely said that in a Dees AFLW game.
  12. 6. Gillard 5. Pearce 4. Goldrick 3. Hore 2. Hanks 1. Purcell
  13. 6. Paxman 5. West 4. McNamara 3. Goldrick 2. Fitzsimmon 1. Mithen
  14. 6. Hanks 5. Heath 4. Purcell 3. Gillard 2. Hore 1. B.Makin
  15. Are we a very good team, or a very, very good team? We will find out this evening. I think we are the latter! Dees by 10 points.
  16. For me, Billings has just gone from ‘yeah, nah’ to a ‘sound investment’. We needed to refresh our list a bit. Billings is part of it.
  17. 6. Bannan 5. Purcell 4. Hore 3. Goldrick 2. Hanks 1. West
  18. That was a disciplined and powerful performance in torrid conditions. Our girls could have been forgiven if they had taken their foot off the pedal once the game had been won, but to their credit, they didn’t! Given the mediocre quality of the opposition, it’s had to judge how good the performance was. Next week vs North will be a much better gauge.
  19. Crows were a whisker too tough when it counted last weekend, but that won’t happen against the mediocre Eaglets. We just have too much class. Dees by 8 - 10 goals in the West.
  20. Seems like the WA newspaper gets its footy news ‘scoops’ from Demonland.
  21. Thanks PStD. The more I hear of Curtin, the more I warm to him.
  22. Yep. We just need for the poker game to play out now.
  23. I like the sound of his attributes, and that he has worked on identified deficiencies, and made solid inroads.
  24. 6. Zanker 5. Goldrick 4. Gay 3. Hore 2. B. Mackin 1. McNamara
  25. Disappointing result. I reckon their bigger bodies got them over the line, but only just, and despite the fact we were too slow and reactive in the middle two quarters. The umpiring was a disgrace. I won’t say it cost us the game, but you could easily mount an argument that that was the case.
