  1. Ha!ha! Perfect response!
  2. Agree. Well balanced and objective article. Bring on Carlton alright! Is there a chance we will get 50,000+ at the G next Saturday? .... and isn't it great that our team selection meetings are getting more difficult by the week?
  3. Early days, but the Brock trade is already looking like a master-stroke.
  4. No he didn't! He was one of our few winners today

  6. Very ordinary journalism, pandering to the local readership.
  7. Agree. We have been prepared to make hard and often unpopular decisions with an eye to the future, but we have done so with the utmost decency. Compare this with Tyson Edwards scenario, which was a PR disaster for the Adelaide Football Club. Edit: I suppose the departure of CJ might be an exception in our case, but the circumstances were quite different.
  8. Time will tell, but I think you might be right Akum. Nev doesn't have the quite pace or silkiness of his cousins, but he has steely determination and ferocity at the ball and man (tackling) which could see him clearly in our best 22 in the years ahead. Appears to be a smart footballer with a great work ethic, and will undoubtedly get the best out of himself.
  9. I think it is ideal, for the reasons I stated at post #47.
  10. ............. but the fact is we didn't lose, and there were so many other positives to come out of the Darwin game, I personally hope it becomes a regular fixture (preferably timed immediately before the mid-season break). ........... and further, I don't think "we are basically conceeding 2 days before the game" but you obviously are.
  11. Totally agree. It was planned from the start that they would be rested around now, and this timing seems ideal to me. Freshen them up before two tough encounters against the Blues and C'wood. and then they have another week off for the mid-season break. Excellent player management for the younger bodies IMO.
  12. Thanks for clarifying E25. I was obviously blind-sided by the ambiguous wording on the MFC site.
  13. I'd like to think we are leading the way! Certainly the mentoring roles played by 'Wheels" and Arron have been very, very important, and I also think the work we are doing in the indigenous communities will prove very important now and in the long-term (ie. win/win for the communities and the MFC))
  14. Couldn't agree more yul. This is a an incredibly positive thread about two stars of the future, but the photo shines every bit as brightly for me!
  15. I doubt that he hates Melbourne, but I do think he has lost a fair bit of the the 'plot' since joining the media. Listen closely to his commentary....... he says some very odd things at times. Maybe he's just grand-standing.
  16. I think you are being far too kind to Leigh Matthews dee-luded.
  17. You may be correct 45, but the MFC website states the following in relation to 3-game memberships: "New in 2010, we are pleased to introduce the 3-game membership for just $84".
  18. This tally may contain the new three match memberships, which would be a positive, but not nearly as positive as season memberships would be.
  19. You make your point very well Jaded.
  20. Reality check? Absolutely! Time to hit the panic button and write players and coaching staff off? Don't be so bloody naive (stupid?)! It was very disappointing to be beaten in just about every aspect of the game today, and the scoreboard could very easily have looked much worse for us if WCE had capitalised on their opportunities ....... but we are only 10% along a very steep learning curve, for God's sake! 'Lows' like today, along with some 'highs' (like our win over Brisbane), will be the norm for the next year or so. But undoubtedly, the 'highs' will progressively become more dominant as we get games into our youngsters.
  21. 6. McDonald 5. Grimes 4. Moloney 3. Jamar 2. McKenzie 1. Watts
