Melb don't have enough quality players/depth. He's one of only six or seven that are consistently good. In this context you'd hate to lose Jack. It's how we address that lack of depth that I'm keen to see in this off-season.

Every game Harley played we won! -
Think TMac is being severely overpaid as well! Reckon both are on 700k plus.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
dee-tox replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
According to the Age, he knocked back 750k a year for three years at the start of the season with a view to renegotiating at the end of the season. He had a poor season so Norf probably offered him a much lower figure which Brown's management rejected. They reached a stalemate and then decided to part ways... -
Seemed good planning a couple of years ago when we brought in Preuss as Max's back-up. Why move away from that especially if we want to play Jackson forward? Seems very short-sighted.. Then again, all long-term planning goes out the window if we land a big fish like Cameron!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

He usually gets four free kicks in front of goal per game so that's perfect for us! -

The question is why was he so pizz poor this season? Injury? Norf gameplan? Finished as a player? Confidence? He's a 200 cm leading forward that has the runs on the board. Worth pursuing. -
How do the results compare to our own Grinter award? Personally, I thought Lever would do better.

Happy with the voting. Gawn at 6 is spot on. Viney had a good season.

Guess this post again reinforces how shallow our list is. All you can do is turn it over!

Our two definites should have been Petracca and May. Oliver played a couple of great games in the middle of the season but was often ineffective. Case of stats having bigger say than effectiveness I was disappointed with Gawn's season. His best game was against the Hawks when they kept kicking to him. Too often we lost clearances and first use. The fact that he polled so well in the Grinter surprised me. Maybe my expectations are too high...

Before the Weed came into the team we had Fritta trying to take speccy's in the goalsquare. Worst gameplan ever! Weed comes in and Fritta is told to lead to a pocket. Missed many shots from there despite technically being a beautiful kick. Confidence was blown to smithereens. Should have had 30-35 goals this year which would have been outstanding. Wouldn't be surprised if other club's are sniffing around because I know his familiy haven't always been happy about how he has been used at Melbourne.

My rubbish bin goes out more often than me so I say cheers... virtually.

Would have been nice to beat the Cats and Lions. Should have beaten Swans and Dockers. Had good attacking wins over Hawks, Roos and Pies. Good defensive win over Saints. Crap against Power, Tigers and Dogs. It's a fine line. Wins against Cats, Lions, Swans and Dockers would have made it an excellent season. The good were Petracca, May, Oliver, Langdon, Max, Viney and Lever. The three draftees all showed plenty. The concerns were TMac, Harmes, OMac, Smith, Hannan, and Melksham.

We desperately need a gun key forward
dee-tox replied to Pickett2Jackson's topic in Melbourne Demons
There are options but all with question marks: 1. Daniher. Injury prone. 2. Cameron. Too expensive 3. Harry McKay: Bit soft in my opinion. Carlton would want a first rounder 4. Jesse Hogan: Off field concerns. 5. Ben Brown: Has he still got it? Averaged under a goal a game this year. 6. Mihocek: Any better than the Wied? -
Premature speculation?

More to the point is the number of people that left Salem out of their votes!
-
Na. Will get better with age. Late developer.

Out: Baker, Smith, Weid. In: HArmes, Jackson, Bennell.

Vanders and ANB did their job and more today.
-
Looked to play with freedom today. He and Saad would be brilliant off half back.
-
6. Salem 5. Brown 4. Hunt 3. Fritta 2. Oliver 1. Petracca

Worst free kick ever. No chance.
