  1. Ah, for sure. Guess my thoughts are that you can play hard and show you mean business without the carry on afterwards.
  2. I don't like the carry on afterwards that players do these days. Bit of a cheap shot and disrespectful.
  3. If my memory serves me correct, he played with a white handkerchief tucked into the back of his shorts! Maybe that was wiping his blood or his opponents blood away! Was an absolute fitness freak. Used to pound the streets of Brighton regularly in his high-cut 70s shorts and singlet. His speed and athleticism for someone that tall was amazing. As a kid I stared in bewilderment!
  4. Put him forward and we miss that manic chasing and harassment that we saw Spargo, Kozzie and ANB. Even Fritta upped his game here. Hunt is quick but I'm not sure he is capable of hunting opposition forwards for 120 minutes.
  5. Fair decision. He sprinted/charged at Kelly with a view to taking him out. For once tribunal has it right.
  6. The pressure put on Freo bringing the ball out of their defence was great especially in the first half. Spargo played a big role in that along with ANB and Kozzie. That helped May and Lever cut of so many forward forays. Spargo is a strong tackler and a superb hit-up kick. His role is crucial and on Saturday he was excellent. Let's not forget that he is only coming in his fourth season.
  7. Think the two MFC communications guys (Goodrope and Gibson) would have been busy at the MCG on Saturday Relying on someone from Casey for match reports and i'd imagine volunteers seem are harder to find these days.
  8. Should have received weeks after the grand final for raising his forearm on Vlastuin. They might give him a week but Cats will appeal to try and have it overtuned. As an aside, Danger (and family) have many influential mates in the media.
  9. Hard to get recognition from the media let alone the umps! Notice The Age couldn't fit either May or Lever in their votes. Oliver, Fyffe, Petracca, Brayshaw (Freo) and TMac featured though.
  10. Great to see Fritta stick a couple of tackles yesterday. That's an improvement on last year.
  11. For some, Gawn could be out injured and still get six votes!
  12. Harmes needs to go. Jetta and Jones did pretty well. Hunt should feel nervous with Hibberd now fit. Rivers had a shocker but keep.
  13. Just no. Had a shocker.
  14. The performance of Harmes is a massive concern. Hasn't played well since five-year contract. Jetty and Jones did OK. Rivers was awful. Jackson's kicking terrible. Spargo, Kozzie, ANB put plenty of forward pressure on. TMac good. Brayshaw ineffectual. Hunt hopeless. Tomlinson fine with May and Lever.
  15. 6. Lever 5. May 4. Jordon 3. Tmac 2. Spargo 1. Oliver
  16. The effectiveness of Gawn, Oliver and Brayshaw is a big worry.
  17. Lesser lights standing tall. Like the forward pressure from Spargo, ANB etc. Key backs great again. Should be six goals up though.
  18. Teaming well at the moment. Everyone playing a role. Max is our worst on ground!
  19. One game won't make a season but we all put a huge emphasis on round one. Home game, redemption from last outing, Clarry's 100th, a superior backline and a refreshed Max should see us home by four goals!
  20. Guess Slobbo has to simplify things so much that the readers of Murdoch's rags can comprehend that if Goodwin doesn't make finals he probably won't have a job... Concepts like the team was not good enough are too complex and beyond Rupert's readers' comprehension! Petracca is now a 'star vehicle' and he will be woven into the narrative at every possibility. Channel 7 and Fox will do it too.
  21. Thought Carlton did the overlap handball really well. Wonder if that is coming back into vogue. Harry McKay really needs to convert better. He has all the tools!
  22. Showed a bit in the first practice match. Decent tackler, neat enough disposal, doesn't mind getting hands dirty... Congratulations to the young man!
  23. This is fascinating stuff. This is our problem and how we can solve it. Short, clear, empowering and ultimately inspiring. Shows how far away many supporters are off when they call for ranting and raving by coaches.
  24. Glad they are angry, but anger is not a sustainable emotion. One can have a adrenaline spike caused by anger with positive results, but it can only be on a short-term basis. I'd prefer a spike in fitness, skills, gameplan, teamwork, development, coaching, etc.
  25. I don't like the general immaturity, smartarsery and absence of modesty on this podcast.
