The captain has spent almost all of the warm up running around with the defensive group. Mids on other side of the field.

Thanks for the help M_9 & Watts2Hogan. Appreciate it.

I bought the ticket before the Carlton game.... :-/ That said, I still not regret going down last year when I had the chance, so I dont miss any games any more if I can help it. Plus its the last game of season, the last outing for Roos.. etc Whats the worst the could happen? (no need to answer that)

I am driving down Geelong for the game on the weekend. It will be my first time there for a game. Can any of you seasoned vets give me some tips on the car parking situation? Street parking, parking lots, ground parking...etc Happy to walk 10-15 mins if there are cheaper and more readily available options further away from ground.

Loudest bronx cheer I have ever heard when we got our first free. To be honest up until half time I didn't even realise there was such a differential. Certainly didn't seem so obvious when watching the game. Naturally after half time I paid more attention and was expecting the predictable square up, but it never came... :-/

All the naysayers will come out of the woodwork to say I told you so?

Pretty sure I'm in the seating section directly infront of the standing room area. Maybe I should take a raincoat incase a few errant beers are sent in my direction?
-
Haha, thanks for the advice! My Merc little Pulsar has enough scratches on it as it is, so if we get a win I'll cop that!

Got myself a ticket as soon as they went on sale to general public (last Thursday @ 9am). There was bugger all available even then. I ended up getting one of the last 50 or so $29 seats. Never been down there for a game and going on my own so I will assess the local rabble in my seating area before cracking out the Demons gear!

Lets worry about getting past Carlton first. We should smash them but I am not yet at the point where I can trust our lads to do what they should

Isn't Fyfe an unrestricted free agent? Or did I hear wrong on SEN this monring?

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
JTR replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
For what its worth... Some random who said he has inside sources at the pies just called SEN and claimed magpies talking to Jesse. Something going on between Jesse/coaches... etc -
Disclaimer: I don't pay a lot of attention to opposition players so following may be inaccurate. Re Hibberd, isn't he the one that can only play off his left and has basically no right side? If so, can we carry another such player seeing as we already have a couple like that?
-
His running is excellent. Many times when I have been watching him at games he is always busting his gut sprinting into space to give his teammates an option. Many times (ala Watts), the effort is not rewarded. I also have noticed that this season in particular he has an excellent long handball. Maybe he has always had it but I haven't picked it up till now. Really hope he goes well and can prove some of the doubters wrong. It is frustrating to see him play a really good game, then see his name automatically appear in the "outs for next week" as if by default.

Thanks for that P-man!

Sorry stuie, I must have missed the part where the Sydney crowd was booing Thomas before he conned the umpire into paying the head high free.... Feel free to point it out.
-
Maybe ask the Sydney crowd who were booing Thomas the entire match. Surely if any crowd should stand as the moral compass of what is and is not acceptable to boo it would be them? I'd say they were booing because he was playing like a [censored]. (like Goodes)

It is frustrating that this is the counter argument that Scott and the media lemmings are throwing out there in defense of this little grub. Thomas drops like he has been shot in almost every tackle. Watch him. Just because the umpires for the most part are aware of it and only 4 have managed to be sucked in all season doesn't mean he is not one of, if not THE best exponents of this 'skill'

Note to self.... whenever we lose, avoid this place like the plague. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the mood changes from one extreme to another off the back of wins or losses. Why can there never be some rational middle ground? I'll let you get back to the wrist slashing now....

Hey Etihad!! Get our song off!
-
Quietly hoping they do. Know a few Norf supporters and they all need to be taken down a peg or two.

Yeah, you can listen to either the TV commentators, the umpires, or both at the same time. Umpire stuff is quite interesting, not so much what you hear from the players but more with how the umpires interact. http://www.sportsears.com.au/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

Got myself a pair of those AFL Sports Ears. During the game on the weekend Mitch Robinson (who incidentally squeals like a stuck pig at EVERY umpire decision that goes against him), was having a go at Oliver re his appearance. "Geeze mate, you make me look good" and many other colourful words to that effect. How ever will young Clarry recover....
