You know what I am absolutely not looking forward to? The absolute moronic few living under a rock Carlton supporters who will boo Jesse for his hit on Rowe earlier in the season.
-
Pumped to see Jesse back out there! For those with home game only memberships, dont forget that this is one of our replacements games so you can get in.
-
First four of the ins please!

"Coming up... big selection news at Melbourne - and its good news" - 9 news
-
My point - which I am sure you understand but all the same - is that the scoreboard flattered us. It is not a true reflection of what happened during the game or how well our defence held up.
-
Was it really? The scoreboard says it was, but what if they had kicked 19.11 instead of 11.19 ?
-
... on top of that I think there is the issue of him regaining the confidence to put his head back over the ball, which I am pretty sure I saw reported a while back as being a bit of a problem.
-
Well I guess they took out character references... It would be fantastic if they were consistent but we've just seen over the course of a week two similar-ish incidents deemed to have a 4 week difference in the original penalty handed down.
-
I may be mistaken, but I think I heard/read somewhere during the previous week that the members of the tribunal from the Houli case were all replaced for this week, and at least one of the replacements was a Sydney person ?

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-06-29/saint-great-helps-brayshaw-in-comeback General manager of football operations Josh Mahoney said the club wouldn’t rush Brayshaw’s return to the game, but it remained optimistic about his progress. “Angus will be in full training early next week. All things going well, he’ll need a couple of weeks of full training and then hopefully he’ll be available to play – all things going well in that time,” he said. Brayshaw said he was progressing “slowly but surely, but tracking upwards” after being sidelined for the past six weeks. The talented and likeable youngster said it had been a steady recover and was optimistic about returning soon. “Hopefully there’s not too much left of it, but I’m going along quite nicely at the moment,” he said. “The next step for me is to join full training with the team – that will happen sometime next week, and then it’s two to three weeks of training with the group. “If all of that goes smoothly, then I’ll think about playing, but it’s hard to put specific numbers on everything and give an estimate of how far away I am.”

So are we happy Zak Jones was cleared of the bump on Hannan? Its contentious I guess as he made contact with the ball at about the same time, but the head is supposed to be protected and Hannan copped a decent whack

Going for the Hawks as I don't want St Kilda getting a top 5 draft pick

Making no excuses for Bugg, but when are they going to start cracking down on all these little body punches players are throwing all the time? Saw it with Thompson a couple of weeks ago drawing a reaction from Reiwoldt. Here Mills throws the body punch and Bugg reacted. Two wrongs dont make a right, but still...

Thats how it works around here. OTT positivity when going well and OTT wrist slashing and rubbishing of players* when not going well. *often the same players who were subject to all the OTT positivity. Anyway, on we go.

For 20 mins before the first bounce the crowd numbers are little down on what I came here expecting.

Season will be un-defined if we get absolutely pumped. Trying desperately to shake the MFCSS, but it's hard.... :-/

Sorry, this was supposed to go in the "Angus Brayshaw Concussion Issues" thread. I couldn't find it when looking earlier... :/

It’s good to watch and I can’t wait to be out there” Few more weeks of full training, starting next week, then hopefully he'll be right back into it, just in time for finals!

Dont want to jinx anything, but I've found myself less concerned about injuries this season than in seasons past. Gawn goes down, followed soon after by Spencil, and we figure out an entire new way to play in such a scenario. Hogan is out long term, up steps TMac which in turn gives OMac more game time than he might otherwise have had and he is blossoming too. Other guys like Hannan, Harmes & ANB are also stepping up beautifully in the absence of others. Silver linings! That said, the sooner we get Jones, Salem, Hogan, Brayshaw & co back the better!

I sent off an email earlier and just got this in response ... ____________ We are about to launch a three-game discounted membership for people who are yet to join as well as an upgrade for only $70 to those who have accessed 2 or 3 of their games. All access members have the opportunity to purchase tickets to weeks 1-3 of finals and we are offering MFC/MCC members the opportunity to join and receive a barcode for finals tickets. For juniors, we are offering a Demon Buddy where they nominate a junior who has never been a member to receive a free junior membership. ____________________ Last bit sounds good. When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
JTR replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
Probably more of a stat than a record that needed to be broken, but apparently the win vs WC is the first time we have won a game without Jones in the side since he made his debut (2006) -
Going against the grain here then I guess, but I think some of his work in tight to get the ball out of the contest has been excellent.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
JTR replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
I enjoyed that too. I always keep an eye on the 'from other team' players to see how they sing the song, and that was easily the most gusto they have belted it out with to date. Lewis was the same. -
I think he has been fantastic in the last few weeks. His gut running is up there with the best in the team. How many times has he been that link man sprinting into space to help create a long range goal. Defensively I reckon he has helped create a lot of turnovers too. Hope he keeps it up, because the rise of guys like him, Hannan, ANB & Bugg have been crucial to our recent run. Imo, anyway...
