@Ghostwriter while we're talking banners... why don't the cheer squads lift the banner to show the crowd, drop it, rotate, lift again to show different area of crowd... etc anymore? Do they just not make them like they used too? Or did the Filth's 2018 GF banner scare everyone into not raising any earlier than needed? Edit - I sit on the opposite side of the ground to where the players run out, so can never see what front of banner says
  2. One for the "what are they saying down at Moorabbin" files... "Looking at their side, their forward line definitely has some weapons. Mihocek, Van Rooyen, Fritsch, Melksham - there's some goal-kicking power there and with Kosi and Latrelle Pickett, there are players that could really cause us issues inside 50. Huge responsibility on the midfield to step up here. They have a young midfield, we need to stamp our authority on that part of the game. If we let them get on top they could cause us a lot of headaches with that forward line" It's been a minute since I've seen anyone have our forward line as an area for concern 😱
  3. Music to the ears of those who haven't already written off Tholstrup... "He's going to play in numerous positions Gaz. His athletic profile is off the charts. He can run around at high speed for a long time, so it's just harnessing where we do that and for a young man trying to establish himself, how much is too much and in what position, but the way I want the game played, for our players they are going to have to play multiple positions, so he's a inside, wing, half-forward, he's even got the competitiveness to play at half back but I know that someone with his athletic profile, he's going to have a crack at playing league footy, he's going to be up for it, so fits the way we want to play"

After a long offseason, I think the media [censored] in general are just looking to set their agendas and create some content for the following days news cycle to talk about. I tuned into Footy Classified last night and that wasn't much better, though they were more focused on nothing changing at Carlton (talking like we are half way through the season rather than one round in), potential unrest at St Kilda over their high paid players (and also not much changing despite), Daicos to Tasmania... etc Some talk re Petracca/Oliver, but they were more in the Matthews and Lewis camp, rather than Reiwoldt
  5. If we still had Petracca, we wouldn't have Taylor, L.Pickett and whatever GC's 1st next year turns out to be, all of whom will be running around 10 years after Petracca has hung up the boots.
  6. Hoping someone goes with 'Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again'
  7. I guess this is the thread for it... 2026 MFC list build
  8. So many cool little Easter Eggs in there, a few of which probably only we as supporters would get. Whelan/Hird Little Eddie/Culley Hibberd running with Cup above his head one handed Langdon on his bike Steele at Luna Park Kings face getting on the lift at the end was gold too Social media team!! 👏
  9. Got lots of possessions I assume?
  10. Get off the couch, go along to the ground and watch him live for a full game — his pressure, off-ball work, repeat efforts and defensive running are why he is so highly regarded. All the stuff that wins us the ball and creates goals but doesn’t put his name in bold on the stat sheet. If you’re only judging him by one goal and a handful of touches, you’re missing half the job description.
  11. Sat next to Goodwin and a couple of his Sydney colleagues at the game tonight, I guess scouting for their game vs Carlton in OR. Poor guy almost wore a burger and two beers from a guy infront who tripped as he was climbing over the chairs hands free.
  12. I was at the game tonight and was knee on knee or knee into opponent at almost every centre ball up.
  13. Unofficial practise match stats: https://dreamteamtalk.com/2026/02/21/match-simulation-fantasy-scores/ Chandler managed to get a hit out 🤣
  14. One thing that stood out for me at the ground was Mooses enormous vertical leap. If we go with two rucks I can see him being a regular attendee at centre balls ups, given the new rule doesn't really suit OG Max.
  15. Last time we played them we beat them by 6 goals. And corresponding practise game last year we beat them by 40+ All I am hoping for besides another solid hit out is no injuries. Sure AMW doesnt have fond memories of Norf in practise games 😫
  16. Young Taylor looks like he has some wheels on him. Didnt seem to have any trouble keeping up with Windsor after he burst away.
  17. Apologies if this has been covered already - I haven't been following all the training threads. I noticed Matthews in the match sim highlights. Is he back into full training now, or still rehabbing and just got a few minutes?
  18. Is this not just a myth created by Kane Cornes and repeated ad nauseum until it became accepted fact? I've yet to see or hear anything about this supposed trade offer that doesn't eventually tie back to the original Cornes 'scoop'
  19. Sounds a bit like Ed Langdon
  20. I've got an AFL membership and love it. ~$60/month, which gives you 40 games per season and seats on level 2. (Also seats on level 1 and 4, but I almost always get a spot in 2 or 2A) It's an extra $11.50 to book a reserved seat to big games and it can be a bit of a [censored] fight sometimes, but if you are organised and not super picky about where you sit for high demand games like ANZAC you wont miss out. Also cheap tickets to rounds 1 and 2 of finals (presumably "wild card" round now too 🙄) and if you want a prelim ticket, you can usually get one. Edit - if you nominate MFC as club of support you are counted in their member numbers and get the member pack with all the bits and pieces. Also gives you priority access to the GF if Melbourne make it. As a Silver member, I’m behind Golds for GF access, but I’d still have a decent chance at a seat relative to other comparable $/month options. Edit 2 - I have an AFL membership cause I go to all the MFC games in VIC + a lot of other games with Carlton/Collingwood/Essendon friends. Usually use up my 40 game membership entitlement, so it works out a lot cheaper than a H&A MFC membership + individual tickets to all the other games.
  21. You must be new here
  22. Hello Bells / Enter Sandman I thought were ok. Whatever they changed to last season was awful
  23. Not sure the doom and gloomers are going to have the patience for that.
  24. "Onley sustained a hamstring injury in the final game of the national championships which caused him to miss combine testing and put his physical gifts on full display" https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1933093/rookie-draft-pick-3-riley-onley Maybe just that? Matthews seemed to have dropped off the radar of other clubs for similar reasons
