  1. An MFC press conference must be made today revealing that Neale Daniher's contract will not be extended beyond Sunday 2nd September, 2007 at 7:45 pm (at the conclusion of the Carlton game). Just give the coach, players, board, supporters, sponsors etc.. some clarity on next years situation. There is absolutely no merit in the world in keeping Daniher beyond this year. He is currently coach of the AFL's worst side - don't let the ladder fool you, Richmond are better than us and have been generally more competetive than Melbourne. Richmond have won more quarters than Melbourne this year. Daniher has somehow transformed this team from a highly competitive top 6 side into 2007's likely wooden spooner. Hell, its not as if we have a poor list. (If I had my way I would've sacked him after the Richmond game....the MFC's worst performance since the late 1990's.)
  2. I thought you were going to say the 22 blokes that represented the MFC the other night were an embarassment to us all. Poof form from that idiot.
  3. Just get a coach who doesn't allow his players to treat clubs lower on the ladder than Melbourne like a joke.. If we get done next week badly against Essendon, its time for ND and the board to conduct an official press conference next weekend announcing that ND's contract will not be nenewed for next year, but he is able to see out the rest of the year. The 2007 circus has to stop. Give the club and its supporters some clarity on next year.
  4. I'd argue we're actually the worst team in the AFL and heading towards our first spoon since 1997. We've even lost more quarters than Richmond this year.
  5. If Neitz was to play his 300th in round 19 here is my solution. Currently: Melbourne V Western Bulldogs - TD Sat Night 7:10pm Kangaroos V West Coast - TD Sun 1:10pm (no MCG game on Sunday) Proposal: Kangaroos V West Coast - TD Sat Night 7:10 Melbourne V Western Bulldogs - MCG Sun 1:10 The only price MFC would have to pay is a 5 day turnaround for their next game against Collingwood. Its almost too easy. Plus ot would enhance our chances of winning!
  6. You will not believe how relieved I am about Can't Kicksley not playing!!! I still see a therapist about the trauma of all those Skilled Stadium debacles where Kingsley destroyed us
  7. Good article by Lyon. Geelong and Hawthorn are perfect examples of June premiers. Adelaide and Sydney are timing their runs beautifully. Nothing would bring me greater joy than seeing Geelong going out in straight sets.
  8. Mate, all he has to say is that he plays AFL football and he'll have no problems at all
  9. And West Coast will be demanding Daniel Ward, Ben Holland and pick 86 for Judd
  10. No need to worry. Rivers will be back for round 14 V Carlton.
  11. Nutcase on the footy field, RR...not off the field. I know its not a Cam Mooney, David Rhys Jones rap sheet, but still pretty ordinary form from a bloke who should be savouring his last 9 or 10 games on a rookie list.
  12. As long is its not at Skilled Stadium. Kingsley only kills us down at Geelong. *Shudders at all those horrible memories down the highway*
  13. A little bit of tongue-in-cheek. However if ND was to drop Petterd or Frawley, you know Brown will always be the next cab off the rank. I did feel Petterd struggled to hit targets a little on Monday, while Frawley looked a little at sea. I'm not advocating either to be dropped, but one of the two may need a run in the magoos.
  14. Either him or Frawley will get dropped for Nathan Brown on Friday night *Cue for website to go into melt-down*
  15. This guy sounds like a nut case. Second report in 2 years.
  16. I'm also an AFL member with MFC support. Just went down to Ticketmaster and bought a ticket for $5.50 on the top level. Great seat, second row on the aisle. Got nothing to complain about. Infact couldn't be happier.
  17. I don't know about you but I felt sick in the guts going to the footy for the first 9 weeks. You can settle for losing. I much prefer seeing Melbourne Football club win. Next years another year.
  18. And the designated away team (Dogs) are actually the home team
  19. I totally agree with you there. However what if the club was flying this year and challenging for finals. Would they rest Neita in that scenario to ensure a Victorian appearance/celebration? Assuming Neita only misses one game (V Rich) they'll probably make it the Manuka game as the club would at least say its our 'home game'. Pity if we were to all miss it. But you're probably right in saying he'll miss 2 matches.
  20. So at this rate Neitz will play his 300th against Port Adelaide at AAMI in round 17. Don't like that idea and I'm sure the club won't either. Problem is if they rest him for one game, the next game is at Manuka in round 18 to celebrate his 300th. If he wants to celebrate his 300th in Melbourne, he'd have to miss 2 matches and wait for the round 19 game at the Dome V Bulldogs. Would be a pity if the first MFC player to crack 300 games had to do it interstate. EDIT - Good to see that Robbo will be able to play his 200th at the Dome V Kangaroos (assuming no injury/suspension)
  21. Sorry to be the 'Fact Police' ...Davey's first game was against the Kangaroos at Manuka on a hot Feb arvo. Kicked a nice goal in the first quarter - left of screen. Off memory, Nicholson kicked a 9 pointer that day Maybe someone could you-tube that one as well.
  22. I didn't do it but I can remember Melbourne fans burning scarves and membership tickets in 1992 against Essendon after we were 8 goals up in the last quarter and somehow lost the game. After the second Carlton game last year, I refused to talk to anyone until the next morning. I've never hurted so much after a game than that one.
