  1. Check this out for a 7 week haul from the great man in 1991: Round 15 - Sydney SCG - 8.8 (just his 4th game of AFL) Round 16 - WCE MCG - 6.2 Round 17 - Fitzroy MCG - 6.7 Round 18 - St Kilda Moorabin - 8.5 Round 19 - Carlton PP - 7.4 Round 20 - North MCG - 11.8 Round 21 - Collingwood MCG 5.4 Then check how wayward he was to start 1994 Round 1 - Geelong MCG - 8.8 Round 2 - Hawthorn Waverley - 4.10 Round 3 - BYE Round 4 - Essendon MCG - 5.0 Round 5 - Brisbane MCG - 6.4 23.22 in just 4 matches. He could've had 35 goals in 4 matches!!! THE GUY WAS A FREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Partly agree. A NAB Cup flag would hopefully get a couple of thousand memberships and some confidence within the group after a pathetic 2007. On the other hand you only have to look at the example of Carlton's glory.... Having said that I'm looking forward to going down to Skilled to watch us against Geelong after a long summer waiting for some footy!
  3. I'll guess $70,000-90,000 Pa. Not too low so they can attract some quality Not too high because there would be no way a suburban club could afford to pay a coach triple figures.
  4. Chris Johnson - still wondering what he's doing on the list Cameron Bruce - To take that step up to the AFL's elite Ash Sampi - Give the fans enjoyment like Pickett and Farmer did
  5. ROUND 1 Season opener against Hawthorn. Great way to kick off the season and enjoy easter with a win over that scummy mob. ROUND 7 Revenge against Fremantle at the MCG after Hackland and the Dockers dominated us at the G last year. Game will be significant for me as I'll be heading overseas for a couple of years shortly after this game.
  6. Sounds awesome! Will it be the closest under or over
  7. Yeah but aren't we one of three clubs (Roos and WB the others) that are getting "special assistance" on top of the TV rights and Waverley park proceeds (if that still exists) etc. that the other 13 clubs recieve. Without the special assistance, wouldn't our revenue still include TV rights distribution monies that all other clubs are receiving. The special assistance seems to be a key factor in keeping us out of the gutter.
  8. Sunbury Footy Club...hahaha! A massive boost for Libba's CV Totally sour grapes. Libba should've been honoured just to have received a job interview.
  9. 1964 - A good year that one!
  10. "In the end, we're quite pleased to deliver a profit to our members" But isn't in effect a $900,000 loss if you factor in the $1 million special assistance from the AFL?
  11. Interesting...
  12. Agree. Petterd was one of the good news stories (apart from his lung drama) of 2007. Some were surprised he lasted at pick 30.
  13. I'm only commenting on whats been presented to me in 9 games of AFL footy plus a couple of pre-season games. I like it how he clears the ball out of defence and has the guts to run and carry out of defence and seems to have more time to dispose of the footy than the average player which is a key ingredient. Very concerned however, with his one-on-one contests -especially if you saw the Roos game in round 16. I think he has the ability to make it. However key position players selected in the first round are risky prospects, hense why I think CAC will be nervous about this one, considering Frawley was expected to be picked up later in the draft.
  14. Loser - Beck Mr Jones - Counting Crows (in reference to our only highlight for 2007)
  15. Had a stellar NAB Regional match against Richmond out at Princes Park but did nothing after that to suggest he'll be a solid AFL player. CAC will be nervous about this selection.
  16. Bode has a key ingredient that most of our blokes don't have.....PACE!!!! Got better with each AFL game and I remember Frawley and Healy raving on about him during the Foxtel coverage of the Carlton game at the end of the year. One to look out for. He was originally expected to go to the Crows or Power in the Pre season draft of 2005. Hopefully he'll make them regret their decision.
  17. Failed at Essendon Failed at Geelong. Next....
  18. Recruit him with our fourth round draft pick. Hopefully nobody else touches him before then. MFC would be negligent in overlooking him. We need some class to replace Trapper.
  19. I can't wait to see the players who have spent the most time in the pub and out at KFC. They'll be in for a rude shock, if anyone heard Bailey's speech at the B & F.
  20. Just leave it with Neitz. Nobody else has captaincy screaming out about them..
  21. Cricket for sure. I guess MCC is great if you're a cricket lover, but useless if you're only into footy.
  22. You can also use AFL membership for Port games at AAMI as they can't draw a crowd. I keep telling everyone, that AFL membership is such good value. I went to 40 games this year plus 4 finals - approx $950 worth for the price of $395. Meanwhile MCC membership is useless at its more expensive and doesn't let you in to Telstra Dome.
  23. Who's going down to Skilled with me in round 3. $50 a seat... DISCLAIMER - Doesn't include the four points
  24. Don't have to play WCE at Subi or Sydney at the SCG.
