  1. I'm fairly sure he's on 295 games. Therefore if he plays this week, he'll play his 300th V Collingwood. What a night and an occassion that will be. If he misses this week, then he'll play his 300th V Freo at Subi...what a non occassion that will be On that basis I hope they rush him back this week!! Or do people think they'll rest him for the majority of the season, so he can play his 300th next year, when the season's well and truly alive?
  2. Ins - Holland, Neitz, Bruce Outs- Davey (susp), Garland, Buckley. Neitz was a test last week, so should be right to go. Just stick him in the goal-square if he's only 70%. The kids need the skipper out there. Bruce should be right to go, considering he only just failed a fitness test last Friday. Big Bad Benny Holland has kicked multiple goals in the magoos the last fortnight, so deserves a promotion. Give him the job on Petrie or create a mis-match in our forward line. Davey obviously out. Garland's too raw. Buckley's had a taste for 2 weeks. Back to the VFL for some solid game time. Think they'll give Moloney 1 more week in the 2's.
  3. Yeah I agree in that Port Adelaide would be one side which wouldn't bother me too much, if they won the flag. If the Kangaroos won it, then every other club would be scratching their heads thinking how??????????
  4. McDonald will win the B & F by a mile.
  5. Ryan and Nathan Lonie were mad Demon fans.
  6. Yeah it was one of those late bumps after Thomas took the mark. It warranted a reprimand nothing more. I'm so angry at Davey, as he seems like a nice bloke off the field. I really don't know how their going to solve his anger management issues. Here's hoping they bring Pickett back for his 200th against his old mob. Although with Robbo's 200th you'd think the club will make it his day only.
  7. As thread title suggests, anyone due back? I know there is tanking, and having an eye focussed entirely for 2008, but I thought it would've been wise to select an experienced player such as Holland over Garland (after bruce was out). After all Holland could've provided a key target up forward instead of constantly bombing it over Robbo's or Davey's head. I know its great to promote the young kids, and good luck to Garland for his experience, but we're still playing out the season and I'm desperate for some experience to come back next week. I'm also desperate to beat the Roos after the heart-break of round 9 -It simply won't happen with the depleted team we put out last week. Possible returns - Neitz (295 odd games) - Was listed as a test last week. Makes a major difference to our structure. Johnstone (150 odd games) - Was listed as 1-2 last week with an archillies. Has played his best footy this year at the Dome. Bruce (150 odd games) - Would appear to be the bloke most likely to return. 30 odd possessions return to the side (hopefully not 15 shanks though ) Moloney - Interesting this one. I'm sure their desperate to play him (due to missing so many games), but they'll also want to be equally conservative. Played quite well for Sandy apparantly. Bell - Was listed as 1-2 weeks with a hammy. As he's been in our top 5 this year, it would be very handy to get him back. Probably the least likely. I know many posters have given up or lost interest in Melbourne, but we've still got matches at stake and a bit of credibilty to protect. Lets hope most of these blokes return, so we can make a better fist of competing!!
  8. Davey will be offered 2 weeks IMO. Instead of spending Tuesday night at the tribunal, he should see a shrink. Man I lost the plot with Davey when he smacked Selwood. So angry at him. Demon Dave, you're right re-suspensions. Holland, Davey and Sylvia have all copped reprimands but no suspensions.
  9. I can assure he'll be trying to eek another $300K for next year. I don't think his finances are all that rosy.
  10. Fairly sure Laidley won himself a contract extension after last nights perfomance V Freo.
  11. Edited above for accuracy. Couldn't forget Mr Analysis himself
  12. So who's going to apply from this board? Jaded? Yze_Magic? Rhino Richards? Clint Bizkit? Dapper Dan?
  13. Agree that Brown's finished at the end of the year...however thats not to say Brown's not AFL standard, because he certainly is. Just a little off the pace. Ward will be there for 2008. You can't delist everyone. Plus he's been one of our more consistent players this year.
  14. Are you advocating a trade?
  15. We need to somehow increase Jamar's trade/market value. No doubt clubs such as Carlton and Collingwood will be fishing around for a ruckman at the end of the year. Trade Jamar for a second/third rounder or an established player, elevate Neaves (hopefully he's good enough), and draft and rookie two ruckman.
  16. Hey I reckon its a great place, as long as you're in the right room When you're out on the town with serial pests in Lawrence and Gehrig, you know the nights going to turn ugly at some stage.
  17. I believe he will be undertaking a pHD in Science or IT. But seriously how funny was it when the cameras focused on all our injured players. Bruce, Neitz and Green looked absolutley focussed on the game and smiling after an MFC goal. Meanwhile TJ looked bored out of his mind, yawning, checking his mobile for race results....funny stuff!
  18. Although his form has been disappointing this year, he has actually played some ripping matches this year. The round 7 Bulldogs game was the best of his career where he picked up about 28 touches and 3 goals. Seems to be playing 1 good game, 1 bad game, 1 good game etc. As someone mentioned here, he may have been distracted by his brother's serious injury. His head needs to be clear for him to play a decent match. Houlihan was excellent on him last week.
  19. Travis Johnstone
  20. If the Carlton runner rushed out to Andrew Walker in the last quarter and told him to miss a crucial goal with 8 mins left, then I can confidently assume Carlton were tanking. Also, if Carlton were tanking, there was no way they would've risked Andrew Walker with his suspect shoulder. By playing a suspect Walker (who the Blues highly rate), it was a desperate act to counteract the loss of key personal in Fev, Stevens and Whitnall. I'd like to think Carlton were playing to win. If they weren't then we may as well forget about the result on Sunday and bemoan another wasted week.
  21. Have to agree with you there.
  22. Unfortunetly thats the same old story with CJ.
  23. Seriously does this guy ever play a bad game. I really now appreciate his efforts week in week out and is pretty much our highest disposal getter - probably because nobody cares to tag him. Will win back-to-back B&F's because he deserves it and is injury free (touch-wood)
  24. I agree. CJ's not up to it. The last quarter summed it up when he had 30 minutes to pick up the ball on the members wing at a crucial time in the last quarter, but couldn't control it, over-ran the ball and a Carlton player cleared the ball out. I'm all for playing him for 3 or 4 games in a row, but he should be make way for Bell, TJ, Bruce, Green etc...when they start coming back. Fairly sure he'll be delisted or traded to WCE/Freo for a 4th rounder at very best. Meanwhile I think people are being harsh on Ward. Overall I think he's been solid this year and he's done some good shut down jobs on the likes of Leon Davis and particularly Eddie Betts yesterday. Been an excellent replacement for Whelan. Has also kicked some wonderful goals in the last 2 weeks. Like Bizell, should be granted a 1 year extension as they are solid depth at worst.
