  1. I too have given him credit throughout the year, but his fate was sealed last week. Too slow and his skills are found wanting at times. His major strength is he knows how to get the ball, and is usually in the top 5 in this department each week. Would be staggered if he survives the September/October 2007 purge, but wouldn't be upset either, as he bleeds for the club.
  2. I had a mate who got married last year on the Friday night of the Prelim weekend, when Sydney played Fremantle. If Melbourne had beaten Freo, then I wouldn't have known what to do with myself as they would've been playing the same night of the wedding. If Melbourne were playing in the granny and you had the opportunity to get a ticket ..... well I guess you'd have to sacrifice a friendship
  3. Dropping Bizzell (who's been our most honest defender this year) for the sole purpose of assisting a surburban footy club win another premiership is a disgrace...if true. No offence to Sandringham but I can't stomach that.
  4. Surprised they didn't recall Shannon Motlop for this one
  5. What are eveyone's thoughts on the BYRONATOR!! Keep him another year. Assuming he has a big pre-season, he still has a good 1-2 years of exciting and intimidating footy - Circa round 5-15 2006. Could be one of the many absentees of 2007 to help rise us up the ladder. No sack the bloke. He "scammed the footy club $300,000", took the money and ran. Totally unprofessional, gets on the [censored] the night before a game, fat, lazy, not interested....etc.... Discuss.
  6. It was actually Shaun. Kept him to under 10 touches? Was a massive scalp at the time, as he was in white hot form. Peter got about 25 touches. Can't tag them all.
  7. Pickett's a strong chance this week to share his 200th with Peter Burgoyne. Bell and Bruce will also come in. Drop Three of: C Johnson -Un AFL like Buckley - Not ready yet, however I liked a bit of his game V Roos. Frawley - needs to regain confidence at Sandy ASAP. Brown - Pace and skills required for AFL have passed him by. Ward - Mr Turnover First time ever as a MFC supporter where I officially don't give a rats about the game. We all know we're going to get belted, so whats the use in looking forward to the game. Same goes for the Sydney match the week after. If the games were in Melbourne, then it would be a little different. I was pumped for the Roos game - then couldn't handle sitting there in that last quarter - it was like being in one of those boring Uni lectures where you just have to leave. I'm having 2 weeks off, while re-charging the batteries for the Dogs game in round 19.
  8. I'm sure he'll play this week. He's already been out 3 weeks with a hammy, plus he was close to playing against the Roos. Seems to play well at AAMI, so will be a handy addition. Also add in Cam Bruce for some much needed experience and class. Drop two of Chris Johnson/Simon Buckley/Nathan Brown/James Frawley.
  9. Is it too late to play rookies? Wouldn't mind giving him a couple of games, now that the season is well and truly and over.
  10. He missed the Sydney game in round 5. I think Carroll, White and McDonald are the only blokes to play every game this year.
  11. Brock McLean not good enough?
  12. Correct V Hawthorn in round 7.
  13. I'm totally with you Gouga. Imagine he plays his 300th against Collingwood on a Friday night in front of 60,000 (surely dee fans would make it), the players play out of their skins out of respect to Neita, and we win another game against the Filth, and knock them out of the top 4. Now that is what I call shine in an otherwise bleak season !!!!!!
  14. All Davey is doing is making a complete ass of himself since late 2006. Grow up Aaron!
  15. Make that one finals win. Against you know who
  16. I think he means he handled the tag well after the punch, by kicking 4 goals. At least thats what I hope he meant
  17. Good ins! We never get thumped when the skippers in the side.
  18. This game was the only MFC game in Melbourne I've missed this year. For those that went, describe the last quarter and was it as shattering as the close Port, Dogs and Essendon games. I can recall us being about 35 points down early in the last quarter and then we were in front, with a blink of the eye.
  19. I'm fairly sure he's on 295 games. Therefore if he plays this week, he'll play his 300th V Collingwood. What a night and an occassion that will be. If he misses this week, then he'll play his 300th V Freo at Subi...what a non occassion that will be On that basis I hope they rush him back this week!! Or do people think they'll rest him for the majority of the season, so he can play his 300th next year, when the season's well and truly alive?
  20. Ins - Holland, Neitz, Bruce Outs- Davey (susp), Garland, Buckley. Neitz was a test last week, so should be right to go. Just stick him in the goal-square if he's only 70%. The kids need the skipper out there. Bruce should be right to go, considering he only just failed a fitness test last Friday. Big Bad Benny Holland has kicked multiple goals in the magoos the last fortnight, so deserves a promotion. Give him the job on Petrie or create a mis-match in our forward line. Davey obviously out. Garland's too raw. Buckley's had a taste for 2 weeks. Back to the VFL for some solid game time. Think they'll give Moloney 1 more week in the 2's.
  21. Yeah I agree in that Port Adelaide would be one side which wouldn't bother me too much, if they won the flag. If the Kangaroos won it, then every other club would be scratching their heads thinking how??????????
  22. McDonald will win the B & F by a mile.
  23. Ryan and Nathan Lonie were mad Demon fans.
  24. Yeah it was one of those late bumps after Thomas took the mark. It warranted a reprimand nothing more. I'm so angry at Davey, as he seems like a nice bloke off the field. I really don't know how their going to solve his anger management issues. Here's hoping they bring Pickett back for his 200th against his old mob. Although with Robbo's 200th you'd think the club will make it his day only.
  25. As thread title suggests, anyone due back? I know there is tanking, and having an eye focussed entirely for 2008, but I thought it would've been wise to select an experienced player such as Holland over Garland (after bruce was out). After all Holland could've provided a key target up forward instead of constantly bombing it over Robbo's or Davey's head. I know its great to promote the young kids, and good luck to Garland for his experience, but we're still playing out the season and I'm desperate for some experience to come back next week. I'm also desperate to beat the Roos after the heart-break of round 9 -It simply won't happen with the depleted team we put out last week. Possible returns - Neitz (295 odd games) - Was listed as a test last week. Makes a major difference to our structure. Johnstone (150 odd games) - Was listed as 1-2 last week with an archillies. Has played his best footy this year at the Dome. Bruce (150 odd games) - Would appear to be the bloke most likely to return. 30 odd possessions return to the side (hopefully not 15 shanks though ) Moloney - Interesting this one. I'm sure their desperate to play him (due to missing so many games), but they'll also want to be equally conservative. Played quite well for Sandy apparantly. Bell - Was listed as 1-2 weeks with a hammy. As he's been in our top 5 this year, it would be very handy to get him back. Probably the least likely. I know many posters have given up or lost interest in Melbourne, but we've still got matches at stake and a bit of credibilty to protect. Lets hope most of these blokes return, so we can make a better fist of competing!!
